This one installs by using the rear bumper/crumple bar bolts. Which is better compared to the other that uses the rear tow points. Regards

Yes, this hitch will mount directly behind the rear bumper and attach to the ends of the bumper beam.

@@etrailer Toyota recommendeds it being fitted to the 3 bolts on either side of the chassis.

I understand that this hitch can handle 2000lbs, but according to the manual, you should tow more than 700lbs

Trailer hitch weight ratings are tested apart from the vehicle so if the vehicle has lower towing/tongue weight ratings then you need to be sure to stay under those.

You mean shouldn't tow more than 700lbs?

@@creativeguy1138 That's the Yaris max tow weight as listed in the owners manual, so that takes into account things like braking capacity and transmission cooling capacity. Can you tow more 700lbs on a flat surface, sure. If you get into an accident exceeding the rated towing capacity guess who's going to be liable. I'm trying to install this hitch on my Yaris right now and having a heck of a time with lining up the upper bolts, everything on mine is a lot more corroded as well. Thought I might see a useful tip here, the only thing I have found is that maybe I should have got the curtis hitch instead as it bolts to the towing/shipping eyes instead of the bumper area.
