I am planning a trip around the KAW on the double bank holiday at the end of May, with my son. So I looked up a few videos to see how people got on. You take is very good, there's a light hearted style that resonates with us normal cyclists who hop on the bike very now and then. We are planning a four day trip, the same as you, so it was nice to see the terrain and the splits you made. I live near Portsmouth so I was amused to hear you talk of a nice wide green downhil near Petersfield. "Uphill more like" was my comment :) I'll be looking through your back catalogue and subscribing. Thanks for taking the time to make the content.
I finished this ride in 2023 after starting in 2021 taking 9 days to complete it. I love seeing the places I’ve been on video. This year I’m going to finish the South Downs Way on my bike having walked the first 30 miles from Winchester, so I was 😂 when you said about the “big grass hill”. Thanks for the video it’s great seeing places I have been
Completed it last weekend - very tough at times - should have given myself more time - 2 1/2 days was a bit limiting. Started at Uffington myself so like yourself not too far away! It was an enjoyable route, but definitely elements I did not enjoy - the ridgeway was shocking in places. I say that about every bikepacking trip - not into deep rutted double tracks - but thankfully little to no hike a bike - just a few pushes up steep bits.
Hello, I'm really inspired to do this ride by watching your video. I hope to break this down into smaller sections and complete it over a few weekends over summer. Is there any chance we could have a list of the campsites you used? Cheers 🍻

Great Video. I was thinking about doing it in 5 days with my wife (+ electric bikes and hotels). Not sure now!
Definitely go for it. You’ll love it.

Sounds good. Glad you enjoyed the route. Will there be a video for me to watch?
@@TheGingerCyclist yes there will. Still got to do all the editing so a couple of weeks away I think.

Thanks for sharing - useful video for anyone hoping to do the ride. Did you leave the car at the first campsite?
Thanks for the feedback! Yes - the first campsite allowed us to leave the car for 4 days for £20. Most campsites seem to be happy to do that.
Gareth, what campsites did you stay at - looking to do KAW and leave the car at first site. Cheers.
