*First minute or so "Huh, I think I'm going to learn this" *Alil after a min in "Well this is getting interesting, maybe with lots of practice..." *Very soon after "I give up already..." Or maybe I will learn it... DUN DUN DUN!!!
The sheet may look wild and crazy, but it is doable. I'm not skilled enough to learn it in 9 months myself, but I think can learn with time and practice
I'm here to give encouragement! I hadn't played the keyboard for nearly a year and this was the first "new" song I tried to learn. And, although not the easiest, I had some of the main parts down in a day or so and was able to put it all together in a few weeks. Long story short, if I could learn it after not playing for literally a year if not longer you certainly can too!
I actually kinda wanna learn this... it doesn't seem too bad, since really it's just that the left hand moves around a lot. Most of it is just repeating anyway.... Okay imma do this~ And completely fail~ Like usual~
EVERYONE play this at speed 2. It gets weird starting from 1:02 P.S. i've had many coments about my username already. I've had people subscribing only because of my username already. i think that we aaaallll know that it's waaaaaayyy to short :)
It was composed by Clint Mansell. The song is called Lux Aeterna (Latin for eternal light) and it is the theme song of the Requiem For A Dream movie :)
As far as me, one of the ways I've learned this part is to memorize the keys to where you can play them subconsciously, even if it's really slow at first, once you can get the finger placement down to memory, you can build your speed up by practicing that section over and over.
it all depends what stage in music learning you are currently in, if you are new to this then you will have to get a hold of the system of learning a song, others who obtain more skill find ways in order to firstly make it easier for themselves but they also know how to read and produce music more efficiently, for a new 1 to 2 year self taught kid it will be a moderate challenge, so good luck its a very nice song.
Thank you so much for this! I've started practicing it, and I've gotten through about halfway in one morning.. sometimes it just tires my wrists out.. My left hand is struggling to keep it together.. my fingers are aching like crazy.. but I'm not stopping till I've learned how to play the whole thing flawlessly..
@Kendrakefull the best part is that fingers have three 3 joints.translated to limited number of movements.so yes one tentacle alone can outperform your precious thumps in a way like hydravlic systems can outperform mechanic. its all about physics and dynamics after all
With Synthesia, it doesn't always go up. It depends on what mode you're on. It's not a game. The midi file could've been by them and just transferred into the game. Best way to tell is a green bar at the bottom.
Omg you people! Stop arguing about whether or not it's hard or not. The beginning is easy without a doubt, and then yes the next part is hard but it can be played with a bit of practice, unless you're really good then you probably don't need much practice at all. And it's call Requiem For A Dream, not whatever someone else said, it's from the movie "Requiem For A Dream" so I'm pretty sure that's the right name...
the song is originally called Lux Aeterna, Requiem for a Dream was the name of a movie i believe and it similar version was in Lord of the Rings... i think... so yeah there you go
This piece is so easy, just a few chords but it sounds so nice and big. This is the easier version actually, you also have the difficult version which is a bit more difficult.
@OnlyWay100 That's a short part in the entire song, it doesn't require all five fingers but you should be able to stretch your hand to at least an octave's length.
To learn this a bit easier, one can analyze the patterns first 1) Intro (Part A without melody) [x2] 2) Part A + melody 1 [x4] [till 0:55] 3) Part B + melody 1 [till 1:03] 4) Part C + melody 1 [till 1:10] 5) Part D + melody 2 [till 1:24] 6) Part E + melody 3 (similar to 2) [till 1:39] 7) "Brutal" Part F + melody 4 [till 1:46] 8) Repeat 3-7 9) Repeat 2, but play only 2x 10) "Extro" (just the 3 Keys)
To be honest, except for the right hand at 2:29, this doesn't look that bad. I'm comparing it to a piece I'm working on now (Maple Leaf Rag) and it doesn't seem as bad.
Actually it's called Lux Aeterna, by Clint Mansell. Requiem for a Dream is just the movie.
*First minute or so "Huh, I think I'm going to learn this"
*Alil after a min in "Well this is getting interesting, maybe with lots of practice..."
*Very soon after "I give up already..."
Or maybe I will learn it... DUN DUN DUN!!!

If you want the one used in the movie it's called Lux Aeterna composed by Clint Mansell.

I actually kinda wanna learn this... it doesn't seem too bad, since really it's just that the left hand moves around a lot. Most of it is just repeating anyway.... Okay imma do this~ And completely fail~ Like usual~

@Kendrakefull the best part is that fingers have three 3 joints.translated to limited number of movements.so yes one tentacle alone can outperform your precious thumps in a way like hydravlic systems can outperform mechanic.
its all about physics and dynamics after all

Play it in 1.25 Speed and enjoy.
With Synthesia, it doesn't always go up. It depends on what mode you're on. It's not a game. The midi file could've been by them and just transferred into the game.

This song is so EPIC.
Stepping up the game!
if you stare long enough at this, and then look somewhere else...
everything stretches apart...
@OnlyWay100 That's a short part in the entire song, it doesn't require all five fingers but you should be able to stretch your hand to at least an octave's length.

7) "Brutal" Part F + melody 4 [till 1:46]
8) Repeat 3-7
9) Repeat 2, but play only 2x
10) "Extro" (just the 3 Keys)
