3 Years ago I watched this and got inspired to learn piano. I practiced as hard as I could every day, starting from being a complete noob, and now, finally I can play it. Thank you Kyle Landry for introducing me to what is now my favorite thing to do in the whole world. I am deeply indebted to you.

I have played piano for 18 years.
    My Dad loved this song.
He said if I memorized it he would give me $100.
He passed away and I played Pirates of the Caribbean He's A Pirate at his funeral.
I know he heard me when I played this at his funeral.
He can hear me playing the piano still.
    RIP Dad.

For anyone learning to play piano, make sure to take note that there is an easier way to advance to this level of playing. Rather recognise the patterns and start of basic, from that you can switch up with the melody. For example you can have alternating time stamps for each note played in the melody, you can emphasise on the sound of the melody when you feel like it with octaves and 4 finger chords on the left hand. You can switch up and make it minimalist at some parts to make it sound unique, creative and elegant but still so powerful. Foundation is key, improvisation is success.
With the chords, you can alternate your fingers in a 2-1 pattern. Meaning of the chords that are required for said section play 2 notes of them or a 3rd, and leave the remaining on out with emphasis (with an octave) or a new chord. For example c major, play c and g together and then alternate and hit a D octave. (D bring the middle key of the chord). You see timing is crucial to play pieces like kyle, if its out of time meaning melody is meant to come before chords and you're still emphasising the chords then it wont sound how you want it to be. But making mistakes is okay, we learn as pianists and human beings to be able to improvise, repeat and rehearse.
That is all folks, from a pianist's experience. Finding a unique way to move your hands on chords, inversion octaves new tones you name it. Everything will be unique in its own manner, goodluck

I have some musical experience with reading music, rhythm and timing etc from my younger years playing trumpet, classical and electric guitar but piano is a whole other different game- especially getting my hands used to independently playing!

After practicing for 12 months, I can finally play this little part 2:56 - 3:36 almost flawless☺️
This song is the main reason why I wanted to play piano and I’m not gonna lie, my new piano is coming tomorrow (always played a 61-key keyboard, and I’m now getting a 88-key electric piano). I’m planing on taking real lessons from a real teacher.
For all people who are thinking or dreaming of playing the piano, I’ve got one thing to say... just do it, take your time (it’s COVID so why the F not), go sit down, and make yourself play the song jou want to play. It’s difficult and it can take a long time, hell, sometimes I was so done with playing that I thought to myself: “I am never going to be able to play this song...😔”But I always came back and tried.... and tried and tried and tried. With succes! And yeah, I can only play 40 seconds from a 15 min. Video, but it’s a start, for me at least.
Hope my story makes sense☝🏻(English is not my main language) and good luck to y’all☺️

  • @KyleLandryPianoTutorials

I really need to get this off my chest, as it has been bothering me for over a year, so please read with an open mind.
I have requested Marioverehrer to take down all of the tutorial videos on his channel that had used my arrangements in them. Before you freak out, I know that those videos are super helpful for you guys, so I promise you, I *will* replace all of those videos day by day on this channel.
Why would I decide to do something like this? Well, I feel taken advantage of, and I do not agree with how Mario decided to build his channel here on RUclips, but I will admit, his tutorials *are* helpful.
    Want to know the truth?
    1) He was never granted authorization to use those midis.
    2) His channel grew so big that many of those videos had more views than my originals videos.
    3) He accumulated 80,000,000+ views on videos with my arrangements in them.
    4) His channel has over 1000 videos, only 70 or so of them were my arrangements, yet those 80,000,000+ views accounted for 1/3rd of his entire channels views. That being said, it is safe to say the majority of his channel was built on my arrangements.
    5) He has built a career of using others' creative work (many times without permission) for his own capital gain.
    6) He is estimated to make anywhere between 5k-15k per month from the RUclips advertisements alone.
    7) The original creators are losing more views than gaining. Especially arrangements taken from smaller channels that Mario sometimes does not even credit. These channels *really* need these views.
    8) Although Mario started off as a transcriber himself, the majority of his arrangements were transcribed by people other than himself.
    9) He endorses many musical products (about 10) in his video descriptions to make even more money from arrangements he did not make. Some of those products aren't even good, and I'm sure he doesn't own/use them, yet by the way it looks, he is tricking some people into thinking those are the products he uses, and they may buy it just because Mario linked it.
Now I understand everyone needs to put food on the table, but there should be a line drawn somewhere. Mario's entire career would not be possible if he did not decide to start taking arrangements of others without permission to profit off it through ads, affiliate links, and other sources such as Patreon. It seems unsettling to me.
That is the real reason why I requested the videos to be deleted. It was not because I want more views, or more money myself, it is because I felt taken advantage of, and it made me upset. However, I will do the right thing and post a new Synthesia video every day until all of the tutorials have been replaced, and I will continue posting my new arrangements as tutorials on here from now on.
Please, feel free to give me feedback on what I could be doing better, as I want this channel to be the best it can be, but please don't shame me for requesting that the videos were taken down, as I tried my very best to explain to you why I came to that decision.
Now that that's over with, thank you for viewing my new channel, and I hope you subscribe for more content!

    • @RealFoxie
      @RealFoxie 8 лет назад +53

I'm so glad you finally decided to do this. It hurt my heart to see marioeverher get more views on his synthesia videos (which didn't have any decent editing, it was just synthesia playing) than your actual performances.
And I'm still surprised how many people fall for that "trap" of giving him permission to use his midis, they think they'll get some traffic to their channel, but all it does is make another video be on top in the youtube search bar, making your video get even less views.
Was there a certain reason you decided to do this now? like, did you just not notice it as much, or did you just not know what to do about it?

    • @KyleLandryPianoTutorials
      @KyleLandryPianoTutorials  8 лет назад +64

I am still surprised how people can be angry for someone, who OWNS the arrangement, to ask marioever to not post it without permission and take the video down.
And even more surprised how many people think marioever arranges all those videos on his channel. D:
I just want to say again that not only asking him to take your arrangements down, but also making your own synthesia video, was a very good decision!
As for any critique: you got that black border at the bottom, making the video a bit smaller in height. I would guess this is because of the ratio of the screen you record it on?
Anyway, that could maybe be something to try and fix. I wouldn't know if it would be worth the effort though :)
      That's all, I hope you're doing well Kyle ^-^

People who use this, I'm telling you now that reading sheet music is a little difficult at 1st but I swear its much easier reading it than synthesia once mastering it. Hell I would be willing to teach you for free how to read notes if you want. Its not as hard as you think. If you really want to be a real pianist then it will come easy to you. Good luck everyone.
