When the dolphins around pause the fishing for a while. But the dolphin attack was an epic moment. Thanks for the video. Greetings from the Med coast TURKEY
already have caught a 30# Blue Cat off of these (going to try to get a 60#+ next year). ruclips.net/user/postUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 Definitely very strong, and sharp. Additionally, the gap is wide enough to actually hook a fish (not always the case with circle hooks). I purchased the 8/0, but probably should have got the 9/0 (they seem slightly smaller than other 8/0 hooks). Additionally, having the point in-line helps if you drift fish. I have yet to get a serious snag with one of these hooks.
wet your hands brother, that way you dont remove to much of the protective slime , dry hands are like sand paper.they will live longer the less you touch them..... just some tips from down south... Durban South Africa...
Loved this video, especially the dolphin! It's good to see that even the pros don't catch everything every time, but reading the water and adjusting your tackle is really helpful.
You're a great fisherman. I'm going to Florida soon and I'm learning alot about surf fishing from you. This will be my first time but I'm ready with big spinning reels and bait caster with 8ft and longer. Hopefully I will catch something but I've learned alot from you. I will let you know how my surf fishing was like. Thanks for all the help
@@HeySkipper thats Great news! Always fun when i see 1, 2 or 3 of you together! You just dont know how much ive learned just watching from you guys. =) i really appreciate it. And keep the great vids and content coming! More power!
Hey Skipper awesome video. Have you tried slide baiting keeps the fish under the water and prevents birds from stealing your bait. I would suggest Aussie Slides fish can't swim back up the anchored line. Also snail your circle hook the fish will set the hook when they take your bait. Also here's another tip with keeping fish alive drill holes in a bucket and let the bucket drift in the water attached to a rope. When you need bait you just pull the bucket out pop the lid and drop it back down. Plus with aerators you have to change the water constantly just to keep the fish alive. Anyways be safe, Mahalo for the Videos🤙
O shit my two favorite fishing channel just combined . Dope 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼 . Thonny help me pick my rod out and hey skipper is a must watch. Great video guys
You an Aussie Kevin? They were tiny spotties, out here in Moreton Bay it's usually all 4 to 6kg models, we usually just spin metals for them though at schools of fish busting up.
People around here called them skipjack. In the FWC website, it’s identified as leatherjacket. It’s a cool fish to freeline, you can see them come up and snatch the bait!!
Yoooo awesome brotha! So happy you linked up with Thonny! He's an amazing fisherman from that area...I subbed him years ago...I've learned a lot from the dude...Bushi I don't know but I subbed him as well. I'm happy you and Erin had a great experience on that pier...tough luck on the Groupers but man the macks were on attack mode. I can't believe you guys threw them back...macks are delicious fish to eat...have lots of Omega3s. Yeah and great advice on situations even dolphins showing up...they're always a nuisance using live bait scaring fish away. Oh and advice keeping baits alive...if you have enough ice...throw enough to keep it cool with the aeration...the sun was too hot and it's what lacks more oxygen.
Top work buddy 🍺😊👍🇬🇧 yeah I usually freeline live baits during the summer and Autumn months for BASS ( ATLANTIC ) , and for TORBOT,BRILL ( Both very tasty flatfish ) Using live mackerel or herring 🐟🐟🐟 also during the winter months I have free lined king ragworms tipped off by a small piece of squid for FLOUNDER / FLUKE Anyhoos brilliant videos Skipper keep "*um"" coming ...!!!🍺😊👍🇬🇧🇺🇸🇷🇺☮️☯️🎏🐟🐟🐟🎣
here's a tip for trimming tag ends on hooks, lures, etc. use an inexpensive set of fingernail clippers and attach it to a string and wear it like a necklace. That way a person can trim most any line and the clippers are always at the ready. no more fumbling for scissors and not chip your teeth on heavy line
All you needed was some soy sauce or ponzu ! they are great for sushi or ceviche , they don’t freeze well so fresher the better ! Loving the collab with thonny and fish on “bushi”
Hi Really enjoy watching and learning from your videos. I would be happy if you can show and teach from your experience regarding ultra-light salt water. TNX
Awesome Spanish catches brother! And whack yeah nice yo see your 3 get together buddy looks like y’all had a great time catching fish ! God bless and tight lines!
Man I wish I would have known you were in my neck of the woods I'd have called out of work to fish with you guys and thonny. Add so aquarium stress coat to your bait bucket to help your bait live longer
Fun video ..notthing better than fishing with the locals..it is awesome to get the dolphin on video..why you guys threw back the markerel? They are tasted great..
Mackerel, Spanish, King and baby tunas show up at breakfast and dinner. Gatorade bottle & 7 feet leader + 1/2oz works great when current pulled away from pier.
Wow this place looks awesome is this the Skyway bridge in Tampa it looks so different as far as I remembered it was too high to fish from and it was always packed with people!
That fish you called a skipjack is called a La'i (La-ee) in Hawaii. The old school guys (pre 90's) used to make trolling lures out of the skin. These days, there are better materials but some still keep the skin to embed them in resin heads for big game fishermen who go after pelagics. They make expensive lure heads out of the skin but I think they catch more fishermen than they do fish.
Hey skipper . I'd really enjoyed this video so very much . I'd like see more fishing like this one . Really wanting see is that fishing for a such very largest fish off the pier fishing . Even something out hear South bay an north bay even some other piers Close to out even if IT'S just little far for me my wife family go to. Please keep in touch thank you God bless you family
I can’t wait to get back to Clearwater St. Pete ima fish that skyway bridge piers. What side is better fishing the St. Pete side or Sarasota side? That dolphin was awesome but I know when dolphins are around fishing slows way down!!! Cool channel brother keep up good work!!!
Ha! "Just keep lettin him swim" he says. I got my first snapper on accident like this the other day. I wanted to see how much line I had left on my reel so I cast out into the current from the bridge and just let it go. About 100 yards out and a snapper damn near took the last 50 yards I had. (Was at the jetty the day before so I was almost out of line). Man that was an awesome fight. Works for me every time now. I even have a weight rig setup that parachutes out into the current in case my live bait isn't feeling suicidal.
I think your describing what we Filipinos call hasa hasa... I use diy sabiki to catch those.... don't know the exact name of that fish but i believe its a family of mackerel
I love the truck setup.

Tampa Bay!! All my Favorite Channel in one!!! what an eps!! By the way, that fish you mention is called a leather jacket!

Hey Skipper! You should check out St. Petersburg's downtown pier! Good for catching snapper and sheepsheads.

Hey i was wondering what size sinker you use with sabiki rig?
In the box do you have to change the salt ??
I think your talking about a Blue Runner in the beginning of the video. It's been awesome watching your progress through the years!
So tiny fishes… good for live bait 🤟
Waw nice thank for tutor
shrimp and squid lived in harmony until the fish nation attacked
Hi bro. Wanted to ask you what fishing rod are you using.
The fish you are describing sounds like a leatherjacket. Member of the jack family and it has venomous spines that can inflict a painful sting.
My dad just retired and moved down to tampa. Hope to meet you and thonny one day.
We might cross paths one day!
2:20 the fish you’re talking about is called Smelt.
