@@angieb9065 Yes. I mean I trained 3-5 hrs a day back in Finland in my hight of my sports career, but that really was nothing compared to what these artists do. Im so grateful I got to learn about BTS!

You could well say that BTS have been "training" for more than 10 years now, because everything they do builds on the experience they have accrued. You may already know that in Kpop they issue new work very frequently. BTS says that when they started as new idols they would prepare for a new release by practicing the dance elements for 16 hours or more a day. Now, they don't usually need quite as long, unless it's a very demanding choreo like ON, or a new style like Black Swan. It was their dance skills that first brought me in, but then I learned about the way their music and subject matter is much more nuanced and supportive - covering many subjects normally taboo in Korea. Beautifully written. You are in for massive treat - but you also have a huge list to go through - over 300 songs, not counting the solo work, which is released free for fans. Enjoy.

Kudos for picking the perfect performance to show her! Everything about Idol was s fantastic from the blending of Korean and African as a way to clap back to those saying they are too western. Loved all of this!
You would then appreciate the behind-scenes footage for this show. The three main BTS dancers, who are referred to as the 3J's - j-hope, Jimin, Jung Kook, by age - are the men who do the three solos leading up to the song Idol. Jung Kook, aka JK, makes short films under his own label, Golden Closet Films, or GCF. During rehearsals for the show, which were captured in the behind-scenes, JK was shooting 3J's rehearsal segments for a GCF short. Because he could not shoot his own rehearsal segment, j-hope and Jimin did it. Some of the shooting for the GCF film is shown in the behind-scenes.
The behind-scenes can be found on the BangtanTV YT channel. But it's best to watch the copy on Bangtan Subs, where ARMY volunteer translators have added English subtitles. JK's GCF short film, which is very brief and wordless. can also be found on the BangtanTV channel.
Part Finnish, I saw something of myself while watching this reaction. I will look out for your film. It sounds like it covers a lot of my interests.

Jeff's journey to and through the BTS experience has been the most fascinating of all the ones that I've seen because it goes way beyond and deeper than the the typical superficial "Whooo! That's WHACK! That's CRAAAY-ZY!!" + annoying open mouthed amazed face thumbnail + "please click like and subscribe" reactions.
It’s so interesting that her comment about the traditional performers living together and training so hard brought up parallels to some aspects of the idol training system in Korea. I never thought of it as something with cultural precedence so that was a cool click moment. Thanks for an added perspective.

Thank you, great reaction and nice to find another potential Army at Orig! It would be great to show her the dance practices as well since she likes dance/movement. Their choreo is so amazing and it doesn't show well in lives as the camera keeps cutting to the main/centre performer at the appropriate times, just not good for the dancing! May I just say she is sooo talented herself, wow. Hope Junho does well.

I'm always kinda puzzled when people say they're a big fan of Korean music and then mention BP as their favorite lol Bc they have such a small amount of music and their singles are so similar in structure and sound 😅 But, she probably listens to music casually, or maybe she's into the choreography part.
4 of the members have a background in Tae kwon do and Jimin has trained in a variety of martial arts. :)

I wish I could discover bts all over again. I first heard of them in late 2018, at the time I was studying away from home and their music always brought me so much comfort. Bts will always be special to me

Rebecca, love your genuine appreciation for the Korean culture and the hard work people put into their performance. BTS covers many genres and too many people only hear their English speaking songs. Based on your love of classical and movement, you would probably love Black Swan.
Thank you so much. Yes, I love Korean culture. I was lucky enough to live in Hawaii for so many years and learn about it both in school and through friends. That ultimately pushed me to produce the film as I'm a massive fan of the culture (and performance art in general) Yesss... Black Swan is amazing as well.

a little funfact about this specific performance: bts and their back up dancers went so hard that the whole stage was moving (in the literal sense) the other artists were in shock bc the stage was shaking and some panicked kjsdnfkjnds
