I’ve had him on my desk for months and his stupid face mask has fell off at least a dozen times. It’s a miracle I haven’t lost it, no clue why it’s not sculpted in…
I believe it!! Or at least glue it in place. It’s either reused molds for the other ninjas or they want you to have him hold it, but it’s not a very straightforward thing to do.
Storm is pretty inconsistent with their releases but as for MK…it’s all we got! Looks like they’re dialing it back in scale and proportion with newer releases. Liu Kang looks to be damn near perfect aside from the monstrous price.
Does the figure has a good and durable material ?. I want to buy him but im afraid after seeing the review of old mk ninjas figures that have many issues
This was my first Storm Collectibles figure, too. I got it for $60 on Amazon but I think I still might have paid too much. Very underwhelmed, especially seeing the accessories some of the other figures come with and how boring it is as a whole.
Storm Collectibles lost me when they released the unmasked Sub Zero as he looked nothing like John Turk. I guess they refused to pay him for his likeness. And I totally agree. The scale and the chunky overly bulky feeling to these Storm figures just somehow feels off and doesn’t feel right.
Just got this for 70 dollars its the only storm collectible I’ve bought. I wanted rain and ermac but they were insanely expensive and this was the cheapest storm mk figure I could find
Reptile is my 2nd Storm figure. I'm excited to open him. Pretty sure mine is different than this. I havent opened it yet. My first storm was Lobo. He is a solid 9/10. He has some articulation gaps but hes pretty nice. A magnet in his arm would definitely make him nearly perfect tho
I know there are some Storms coll's that are amazing and most definitely from the MK line. I have yet to buy any but on my list for sure. Great review brotha, love the honesty keep that coming.
I’ve got just about every MK figure from Storm so far, with the exception of the variants. Most of the figures are pretty good and I think these figures from Storm are the best on the market as far as MK goes in this scale. Some of them just suffers because of the design and the materials used. The MK3/UMK3/MK Trilogy ninjas are one example. Looking at some of the other characters with outfits that doesn’t limit the articulation, then the articulation is superb! It simply just comes down to the design of their outfits. Great self presence though! Their 1/6 scale MK11 classic Sub-Zero and Scorpion are great, but they’re in a different league. The use of actual fabrics and the larger scale helps the figures alot. More details, better articulation, etc… The problem with the bigger scale is that more figures takes up more space. Thats why I like the 1/12th scale better when it comes to a franchise with so many characters and having them on display. For single characters like Robocop, The Terminator and so on, I definitly prefer the 1/6th scale. The 1/6th scale is perfect for a action figure representation, in my opinion. Its also nice if you want to get into making custom figures too. Great and honest review though 👍
This is some great information and I definitely appreciate it. I would love to get a whole collection in my hands to look over. Sounds like there are some good ones, for sure. The price is just tough if they don’t hold up like this one.
@@NostalgiaUnboxed Yeah, the prices on the MK Storm figures are pretty stiff, and believe it or not, once they go out of stock the prices goes even crazier. The first MK figures Storm released were the classic skin DLC version from MK9 (Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile, Ermac, Smoke, Noob Saibot and Rain). They started off at about 75-80 bucks or so too, but goes for 2-300+ US dollars now, depending on the character and how nice the seller is. Once a Storm figure goes out of stock the prices only goes up, unless a new company rise to make better versions. If you want to get a Storm figure, them you better fetch it while its at retail LOL! I reviewed all the Storm figures I’be gotten so far, and Im pretty happy with them so far too. Then again, Im less critical in my reviews due to knowing that there is no such thing as the «perfect figure». I take them and judge them for what they are, unless they start falling apart straight out of the box or have obvious issues that makes them really bad figures. Im only doing the reviews and maybe snap a few photos, and then I leave them on display for visual enjoyment anyway. To me the figures are only posable untill I feel I have the right pose, and then they suddenly turn into «statues» for my collection. Too expensive to risk breaking them for no reason LOL!
I just bought the NightWolf figure last month from my favorite "action figure" store(not a toy store!😡)😂, but i paid $136 for him. Thats the most I've ever paid but seeing as there's not many Native American figures I thought it was worth it being full blood Apache, i can't put a price on Native inspired figures....until my wife finds my receipts and yells at me!!😂😂 I'd rather get caught with another chicks phone number than to get caught with a receipt for an "action figure " (not a toy!!😡) that i paid more than $40 for!!😂😂 Anyway great review!! I agree 30 to 40 bucks tops and if you’re a huge no fan! I do like the reptile head. Was going to save this for morning coffee but night time naughty time will do!
I have a few mk storm collectibles, cyrax, sektor, subzero, reptile, scorpion and kung lao. I wish they were cheaper i just love how most of them come with their signature moves and the ability to do a fatality
@NostalgiaUnboxed it sure is missing a few accessories to spice things up. I mean really how much more can they charge for a glop of green plastic that can double as the acid spit fatality. The unmasked sub-zero comes with a full ice tomb case and different ice effects
Love me some MK Ninjas and Storm Collectibles have peaked my interest, but the price tag has definitely kept me at reach. Cuz I agree, even with photos on BBTS, the sculpt/paint/figure doesn't seem to add up to the price.
@NostalgiaUnboxed I've watched videos of some people's collection's and seen some pretty gruesome fatalities, has wondering before I started buying the wrong series or something
Storm is a hit or miss for me. I always thought that some off their figures were weirdly proportioned. Their first wave of ninjas seemed that way too. I intended to buy most of the MK line but I noticed that some of them looked off, especially for the price that they’re asking for. Anyways, keep up with your reviews man’s. It’s actually one the better reviews I’ve seen in a while.
It's weird, but until you showed the promo images I see why you found it off. The head looks a lil smaller and the thighs shorter or maybe the skirt piece is hanging too low.
It’s all so strange to me. Haha The promo images (and what’s on the box) show clear spit and orb ability thing. Though green is better, it makes me wonder how they change so much
I've got this figure and the other ninjas he's great and the mask comes of as it's reuse from scorpion. Loving your honesty. There is a lot of reuse. And there prices are higher due to them being import figures made for the Asian market and that the are a small company in comparison and they make them in smaller quantities.
