Exploring Georgia's Lush Wine Country (Telavi)

Telavi, Georgia. Take a look inside a family winery & making khinkali (Georgian dumplings!) We recently had the pleasure of visiting Zurab Kviriashvili Vineyards in Telavi, Georgia - the heart of Georgian wine country.
Zurab showed us the 8000-year-old Georgian winemaking process at his small-batch winery and shared the wonders of traditional Georgian food with us! We tried classic Georgian eats like chakapuli and mtsvadi (BBQ cooked over grapevines) and even tried making khinkali, or Georgian dumplings.

Wonderful, sweetheart! And just so you know, during the Soviet period when there was very little exposure to the outside world, Georgian wine was THE wine, and Georgian restaurants were considered to have the best food. In Moscow and Leningrad (St. Petersburg) that's where people went for a special treat. I've only been to Tbilisi, which is amazing, but you're so lucky to travel around ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

It's funny but even today Georgian restaurants serve better food than the Russian ones (cuisine-wise).
You can be sure that the food there is made with love and dedication, and the service in on spot.

p.s. The only thing I find strange is that people all around the globe has this not-so-pleasant streak to call themselves 'firsts' at something as if it adds value to the product they make or soothe their ego somehow. "We were the first ones to make X" - okay, so what?
