- Breach or Access Points can be hacked with breach protocols. They can give pretty insane amounts of money, items, and other perks/upgrade if you know how to get the most out of them. This video explains how to do just that!

Quick update: a couple things!
Clarification: these things are called daemons which people in the game pronounce “demon” and they are a cyberpunk term for “virus” like a computer virus you are uploading.
Edit: apparently daemons are real things - thanks to commenters who let me know!
Also:
I said you can unlock new breach protocols in the skill tree but I’m not sure that they show up just anywhere. I unlocked the deep sleep / shut all cameras down breach and it only seems to be an option when I initiate a breach on a security camera through scanning it- still useful though. But yeah, the different unlocks in the breach protocol tree might not apply to all access points, rather it’s to specific types/ specific breaches that they will apply too.
ALSO: you can buy better operating systems / cyber decks at the ripperdocs which increase your buffer capacity up to 8!!!

@@ItsShatter OHHH that's what the buffer description is for on those cyberdecks! I was thinking it had to do with something regarding quickhacks.
Also, since it seems you like to hack a lot like me... When using like a distract quick hack on a random vending machine or whatever, I get breach protocol exp. Don't you think you should get quick hack xp instead? Quick hacking people gives me quick hack xp, wonder why when doing it on machinery it doesn't work the same. My breach protocol xp is the highest because you can just go around and quick hack vending machines, etc and get lots of xp!

David I think they labeled it as “help” but yeah not super helpful I suppose 😅 took me like 5-10 minutes of just reloading the same save spot to try it over and over again until I figured it out haha
Thanks for confirming you can't always get all 3 daemons successfully, I though I was just stupid.
Bit of info I can share is that your base buffer size can be increased with a better cyberware deck as well.
Also its a good habit to read the fine print of each daemon before starting, since they tell what rewards they offer (more relevant to mission specific breach instances)

can someone help me? theres an achievement called Christmass Tree Attack, and to complete it, i must complete a breach protocol with a minimum of 3 daemons uploaded, how do i do that?

Your buffer depends on what model cyberseck you’re using, so you can increase it without needing the skill tree

Hey thanks a lot. I was trying to get all three bonuses everytime and was getting frustrated. But now seeing that it’s impossible without the perk and can only get two sometimes makes sense now.
You actually can get all three bonuses if you get really lucky. I JUST got it without the perk but I had to save scum a couple of times. You get nearly 1000 eddies (906 for me) and some components including a legendary.

just to make sure I understand fully: on most attempts, you wont be able breach all 3 datamines at the same time, correct? More or less, you can only do 1 or 2 unless you get really lucky
as you upgrade your cyberdeck, you get bigger buffers, i have a buffer of 8 and can pretty regularly get all 3 daemons.
I accidentally hit all 3 on a vending machine pretty close to the beginning of the game while I was still trying to get a grasp on it
