Considering that 09ts can't even fit in the Piccadilly line tunnels and so can't use the connection, that's definitely an example of something going very wrong...
These were (and are) my favorite series about the goings on of the London Tube, especially it's modernization upgrades. Why were the full series removed from RUclips?? Cant seem to find them anywhere.
ASTLEYFAM Seb & Kieran I work on the tube, it definitely isn't happening by 2021, knowing tfl a realistic date is 2050. They are really bad at learning from their mistakes and are not efficient at all, I don't identify myself as working for TfL but instead London Underground.
I would DEARLY love to be a tube driver ... Things going wrong never phase me, you just crack on, follow procedure and improvise using common sense when procedure doesn't quite cover the situation. Maybe a day or two a week though ... I've done jobs where I'm on my own the whole time but this probably gets boring pretty quick.
ASTLEYFAM Seb & Kieran well, you say that, but if you look TfL have said the NtubeFL are capable of being fully automated, but it wouldn't happen till 2055 at least as with the current infrastructure, it's not safe, both management and unions recognise that. And all those new trains (Sstock and 09 stock) will have drivers and aren't capable of being entirely autonomous all trains now are designed to have a driver and that's the way it will be for a while. Yes they will be capable of driving themselves, but they will have a driver onboard who will have overall control, also the Bakerloo line won't get new trains till 2033 and even then they need to install all of the relevant infrastructure after that (signal systems, PEDs, control rooms etc) so I reckon you'll be able to fully drive a train on LUL even in 2035 and even then, what about network rail? They have refused point blanc to introduce ATC and ATO on their railway (maintenance and training costs are too high as it would be a specialised piece of track). So even in 2040 at least, you'll be able to partially drive a train. In case you are wondering, I do drive tube trains for a living.
It's surprisingly quite lucrative. A few drivers have grossed over £100,000 per annum, though this is unusual. I believe recruitment for drivers is internal only nowadays, so you have to have worked for TfL or Underground to even have a chance of applying.
@@paulanderson79 My uncle, who worked for Network Rail as a signaller until fairly recently, told me in 2013 (two years after this series was filmed) that LU haven’t recruited a driver externally since 2008. That may have changed in the eight years since, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it hasn’t.
That was my plan, but failed the assessment. Central was my line of choice as I don't mind the 92's, and I live close to Hainault depot! Lol. Instead ended up a Trackman but wanna go the CSA route and keep trying for T/O.
I'd open the cabinet on the DLR because it's automatic& yell"Hey!Everybody!Trash talk London if you want to!Let's stay on after the last stop if you're going there! You'll end^ @the same station but in a different location if you do so!"
I'm looking for the part with the driver going "hello, it's me again." if anybody know's which section and time that's on it'd be much appreciated. -Friend doesn't believe me that they have female tube drivers. And she seemed nice :)
Some drivers handle it better than others. My dads mates mate trained to become a tube driver, sat all the classes, went out for his first day in training on the train and two stations in he had a jumper and quit.
francy francy i just landed an apprenticeship with london underground, and you can get into signalling through this apprenticeship. It opens every year.
I believe the Circle and H&C share drivers. I know Waterloo & City line T/O's also work on the Central, they are based at Leytonstone. Other than that, generally drivers are dedicated to an individual line but can transfer to another line once route learning is completed.
Absolutely impossible to get a job for London Underground honestly. Seriously type in jobs for TFL right now, nothing comes up and it’s been like that for years. They higher internally and train driver jobs, forget about it! The tests are insane, no normal person passes them apart from a very very few lucky ones. Everyone one I have ever known told me those tests are ridiculous! Like for eg a number of lights will quickly flash up on the screen and if you can’t remember what you saw, instant fail. Smh. Boggles the mind though coz if you see some of the people that do work there you think, how on earth did he get the job he looks like a tramp ffs. Smh

0:21 that's Victoria Line 2009 stock. Not the Piccadilly depot being referred to.
Stu Wilkes I KNOW! When I saw that it drove me crazy!
Stu Wilkes yeah, "Piccadilly line depot". *shows Northumberland Park depot.*
I find this shit dangerously interesting
dangerously. The best descriptive word for this. So true though.

0:21 - "The west end of the piccadilly line at west acton". Because I see 2009 trains on the piccadilly line every day.

Now they have been told to slow down due to the ' noisy tracks' . Bravo! Another delightful delay for my daily routine of getting to work
It's interesting and these are the people who keep London going :)

No reason for them to be removed , they weren't harming anybody !

PDX Productions What is the title of this episode ?
I would LOVE to work on the tube!
Tobsie 7 tfl.taleo.net/careersection/external/jobdetail.ftl?job=022816 they are currently recruiting tube drivers
Tobsie 7 UK I'll be so scared going in tunnels
Tobsie 7 UK please

No staff no managers. Stations side they learnt that the hard way with the latest cuts and you may find talk of NOPO has quietly been dropped...
Bring this out on dvd full series
It's the driver who is also at 1:35 in this video, but I'd like the quote.
What is the pay like?? I love trains, ever since I was a small young boy, I live in NYC, I will be a NYC subway operator in the next few years.
It's surprisingly quite lucrative. A few drivers have grossed over £100,000 per annum, though this is unusual. I believe recruitment for drivers is internal only nowadays, so you have to have worked for TfL or Underground to even have a chance of applying.
£100,000 is false news
Starts at £54,000 and goes up to £57,000
Facts!

@@TheBritFromOz008 I've heard the same thing elsewhere as well.
Yep finally got my dream job. I work on the night tube and I drive then central line 😊😊😊
That was my plan, but failed the assessment. Central was my line of choice as I don't mind the 92's, and I live close to Hainault depot! Lol. Instead ended up a Trackman but wanna go the CSA route and keep trying for T/O.
can i ask, what weight you are
I'd open the cabinet on the DLR because it's automatic& yell"Hey!Everybody!Trash talk London if you want to!Let's stay on after the last stop if you're going there! You'll end^ @the same station but in a different location if you do so!"
0:40 what was that
Probably the train coming into contact with the electric third rail, but not 100% sure
Is it still on bbc 2
I want to do this the job is well paid.
Where were they at kings cross
I'm looking for the part with the driver going "hello, it's me again." if anybody know's which section and time that's on it'd be much appreciated. -Friend doesn't believe me that they have female tube drivers. And she seemed nice :)
I know you asked this 9 years ago, but it's queen's park on the bakerloo line
Hello??? Hi honey! Good morning Madam! Very friendly and funny
A 2 under must be fkn horrific!
London Underground isn't plural. Nor is Network Operations Centre. The busiest COVERS, not cover.
Like to buy this in the states
I wish for a job on the tube, not necessarily as a driver. A "one under" isn't something I believe I could deal with.
Some drivers handle it better than others. My dads mates mate trained to become a tube driver, sat all the classes, went out for his first day in training on the train and two stations in he had a jumper and quit.
Noddy Mac I get upset if I think I've or I have actually hit any kind of animal.
The drivers do get paid very well though.
They do get paid a generous wage, and the annual leave is decent, along with the perks and pension.
Tbh if I was a tube driver I don't think I would be badly affected I would just be shocked coz it's not ur fault someone wants to kill themselves
can a 10 year old drive a tube train
what school u have to do if u wanna be the operator?
francy francy i just landed an apprenticeship with london underground, and you can get into signalling through this apprenticeship. It opens every year.
Providing you meet the age requirement.
the school of hard knocks
Wait. You're only allowed to drive on one line as a tube driver?
I believe the Circle and H&C share drivers. I know Waterloo & City line T/O's also work on the Central, they are based at Leytonstone. Other than that, generally drivers are dedicated to an individual line but can transfer to another line once route learning is completed.
Noddy Mac I don't know... If I was a tube driver I'd probably Chose the district because you're outside a lot
That's if you're not Night Tube. Central is above ground more than underground.
Noddy Mac Really? I never knew that
Technically, the majority of the network is above ground. The only lines that aren't are Victoria and Waterloo & City.
Do the older stock not have a deadman’s device? Oh, sorry, I meant deadperson’s device, or ......
They do - it’s incorporated into the master controller handle. Let go of that and on come all the brakes!
The apiro
What’s the pay like??
They get about 50-55k a year depending on what shifts they do
Lol
It's got the stupid string plucking music.
my friend drove all 11 lines
You can't do that
Stefanie stamie atomistic stock
