  • The MF-105 MuRF pedal is definitely an unusual pedal. MuRF stands for "Multiple Reference Filer Array" (wait wouldn't that be MuRFA?). Well, no matter. This is a pretty cool pedal and can offer up a variety of sounds with the right amount of tweaking.
Although this is an unfamiliar effect to many guitarists, synth nuts and techno producers may know this effect as a step sequenced filter or some other such nonsense. Check out what this effect can do with the clean signal from a guitar in this video. Stay tuned for part two when we try out this pedal with a synthesizer.

I really love it when I find a review of a pedal (or anything musical) and it's demonstrated by someone that actually knows and cares about wtf they're talking about..Took about 2 hours of wasted life a bunch of other MoogerFooger videos before I found this one and 90% of them were as poorly done as possible with no description or 'real' use of the pedal and no explanation as why each thing does what..glad to see there's a company out there that gives a shit and reviews with a dude that knows a ton about filters and how they're affected by certain things.

Surprisingly, this is actually the best demo of the Murf on youtube. Thanks dan!

    awesome video.
helped convince my to buy one.
Can get some crazy trippy sounds out of that thing, which makes it a pleasure to rip bongs with.

@pmoncayo87 Not just for you! Boss is less than zero compared to Moog...obviously more accessible for prices, but Moog's quality is incredible

8:47 sorta sounds like the synth effect on Ellie Goulding's "Lights", maybe something like that, or as a sort of noise gate? Either way I don't see it being worth the price tag...

@ckrug32 The SL-20 sounds more appealing to me, but I would like to hear gearwire's opinion

Would you recommend this or the BOSS SL-20 Slicer?
    Thanks

Depends what you're trying to do. The Slicer is far more of a tremolo pedal than this.

to bad this isn't a tremolo pedal..............
