Hansdhwani is a Carnatic raag. Credit goes to the great Ustad Amir Khansahab for making it popular in Hindustani system. Vilayet played it under his influence and Rais imitated Vilayet. But this is a creative imitation. He plays with verve.
This is the first of its kind & ultimate. Simply, demonstrates the command of the 'laya'. So much to share about this 'Guinness /Legend'. Shatkoti Pranams.
Did anyone noticed the way he announced the time was 4 to the audience? 😂🙏🙏 Joyful soul. Pranam to Ustad Rais Khan sir. No words to say about performance amazing as usual.💐💐💐
Amazing rendition, as usual, and like a child in a candy store - this is the music we need more of and thank you for posting this!. The little tune (I think, is the pentatonic song from the Spielberg movie Close Encounters of a Third Kind (1977), at the beginning and in the middle (at least in my humble opinion) is one of RK's little jokes he likes to play, which I believe was meant to sound like "HELLO". It's like tuning your third sympathetic string to shuddha Dha, and then the fourth string to shuddha Re (which creates a wolf tone). How many sitarists do that? Pa be a better, more natural and pleasing choice for that third string? But none the less, he's making a connection with pop culture and a great raga.
@@luvdasitar Don't call BS specially when you don't have any clue. Since when you need to have the recording of the composer to be called his composition? . It is public domain knowledge that it is VK composition. I am sure Rais khan could have confirmed this. Here is a article from hindu that was tribute to VK after he passed away that talks about this story. www.medieval.org/music/world/vk.html
CraigList Acct you don’t. And the Hindu article is based on hearsay. Given UVKs ego, I would venture to say that if he had indeed composed this you would have heard it at every recording and every baithak and proudly exclaimed his genius( which he was by the way, I am a big fan of his too). Given what I have heard of both players and both of their Mijaj, I highly doubt this bandish was UVKs composition.
Simply wonderful ❤ .
Tabla sounds like flowers falling on the ground on a spring morning....
That shift from ek taal to teentaal is like god level 🙏🙏

The little tune at the beginning is the sound of Big Ben tolling, not the tune from Close Encounters.
It is the tune of the Big Ben chimes

Go cat India play that thing the sitar is so cool. I would love to learn how to play that thing.
this is composition of ustad vilayat khan
I am not sure, do you have a recording of Vilayat khan sahib?
@@haidaradina3710 No. But I have this story from student of Pt Arvind Parikh how he composed it.
BS. No recording exists of UVK playing this. Besides the composition is trademark URK.
