Once in a while, I come back to hear this song when I need some sort of reflection and emotional connection to the day over coffee. This is beautiful. Thanks Maestro Karcher!
Uwe--I have been a subscriber for a long time. What thrills me the most about listening to you, is that Dave Grusins legacy will live long after he is gone because of you. God Bless and thank you for your videos. Gives me hope that good music goes on forever.
Anytime I listen to this brilliant musician and just say cmon. We all know his talent, but his piano is tuned bright, his phrasing and mannerisms at the piano shows his love for his craft. Dunno if he’s just an instructor, but I would fly out and buy any cd he puts out, so every night I can grab some merlot and get misty. Love this guy
I've had this song in my head since I first heard it in 1982, but I didn't know what it was called. You play it absolutely beautifully! Vielen Dank!!!!
He is a great pianist, now his piano is good, it is a Yamaha Piano, I had a C7, 7ft4" Grand & it was bright but I had it toned down / unless you work real hard on the Felts to soften them, it is just what it is. Now in my humble opinion, only a Steinway really has the Beautiful Bell Tones!
As a piano tech who tunes and voices many brands, the yami's are definately more crystal clear (sometimes piercingly) in the treble, I can tune them very stretched to get perfect 12's and the whole temperament still stays true. The yamaha scaling allows for this and lends itself perfectly for most jazz.

Couldn't have said it better.

Perfectly played. So soft and yet so masterful. One of the most beautiful songs ever written.
Bought the mountain dance cd in the early eighties just for this song. You nailed it, great touch and timing.

So far there have been no complaints :-)
If you lived in the states and performed locally, I would be there everyday.
Really great, as always! Do you sell your transcriptions? Would like the one for "Jack's Theme".
Thanks a lot, Ron! Concerning my transcriptions - just send a mail to uver@gmx.net for more info...
You make me love this song even more. But . . . the original Thanksong comes from the Mountain Dance album, not Migration
Thanks, Roberto! I mentioned the error in my description, as you can see :-)

Hi Frank, of course a Steinway (often) is state of the art. But the prices... 🤦🏻♂️

Uwe, I tried emailing you at the address on the video but it bounced back. Have you changed your contact info?
Hi Jim, no - it´s still uver@gmx.net - do you have a comcast address? Sometimes I had problems with comcast mails...
