i know this came out in 2020. but i wish they had used the bonus green screen footage to rebuild the cutscenes instead of the A.i Upscale. it just makes everything look really.. Blurry.
This game is an American 80s action popcorn film. A German and Greek general, operating out of a British base, fighting Russians, leading American troops. All hail the camp of it all.
The actors got better, though even more campy in Red Alert 2. 🤣
Since in this timeline Germany is an Allied power (due to Hitler having been erased by Einstein) having a German as a general wouldn't be too far fetched.
@@jimhuffman9434even in our timeline West Germany commanded the second largest contingent of ground Forces in Central Europe - which would have grown into the largest if war was afoot.
They didn’t flat-out holler it from the roofs but German Officers would have needed to play a crucial role in the defense of Europe.
I just love how von Esling's uniform is just a mishmash of parts that (if you take the timeline seriously) shouldn't even exist.
The clothing comes from the GDR and his officer's hat looks like it's wearing the skull of the SS, but without the eagle. ^^
I also like how they made him up instead of using historical generals lime Rommel, Guderian, Von Rundstedt, who would have been alive at the time. But I get it too. You don't want to make the historical generals of the Nazi regime (even ones that turned on Hitler like Rommel) look like the good guys and heroes even in an alternate timeline.

Well since we are on that topic without WW2 happening Germany should still have its lands in Pomerania, East Prussia, and Silesia as without a loss in WW2 there would have been no Soviet genocide of Germans living in those areas and geographic shift of Poland westward but on the Soviet war map on their campaign it shows Germany's modern day borders
@@solinvictus4367 because mate, not only did it change to Hitler not having Germany, the Weimar republiek thus have remained and they might have lossed their areas to other armies. It also doesnt really matter. Because if red alert 4 where ever to come out. Who says their will not be an equivalent state to that of the European Union. As a gdi kind of state.

while i realy did love the C&C 1 games, for the love of it i could not get behind playing them again to get into the story.

My problem is RA/2 weren't as good to me as TS, so although I got those 2 at some point it was always back to Tiberian Sun, prolly cos it was the random game in the shop that was my C&C intro....Still not played actual C&C 1 tho
5:22 - GDI foreshadowing. Meanwhile, in the Soviet campaign Kane is an adviser to Stalin. They were really setting up RA1 as a prequel.

The timeliness are not related. They were supposed to, but ultimately they weren't.
Ahh yes, UNGDA aka GDI in first stage. Actually, Red Alert was meant to be a prequel BEFORE Tiberain Dawn.
@@Amp661 Sorry to bust into your bubble, although that's what the recent C&C fans thought. Although Red Alert campaign was MEANT to be a prequel before C&C Tiberian Dawn which take place between 1950 - 1953. Both Allied and Soviets ending leads to Tiberian Dawn while people thinking that RA Allied ending leads to RA2 although that would be Yuri idea aka C&C 3 Incursion aka cancelled Westwood C&C 3 version.

I was learning English while I played this game back in the time and now, I know why I couldn't understand anything from the white-haired dude. I thought English was very difficult because of him.
too bad the original master tapes where lost, hopefully one day AI will advance so far that we can have a remaster of the cutscenes that will make them look like modern day 4k movies.
I love that Stalin lives longer in the Allied Ending, then the Soviet Ending.
It is unfortunate that the Red Alert cutscenes are so poor. Hopefully they can fix them one day with Balenciaga.

Why is the allied command in a lounge?
The Allies got totally surprised by the full scaled invasion of the Soviets. They lost a lot of ground and had to reorganize their high command and defense. Of course this is my opinion and this is not a straight up fact :P
Or maybe their briefing room got renovated.

I wish the CGI cutscenes were done better, they always felt too short and very limited.

Nato wet dream right here
Westwood idea was going to implant Nato as a faction, although they wanted to make a FICTIONAL faction such as Allied Forces. Nato faction is now turned into Allied Forces in the story.
Fun fact: Nato is going to be part of the role which according from C&C Red Alert beta. Although Westwood Studio changes into MORE fictional faction such as replacing it with Allied Forces.
