I just watched a video of Jay Leno's garage where he was driving a Quadzilla. He had a huge smile on his face when driving 25mph on city streets. It is a horse of a machine.

My thoughts exactly. This is the first item I've seen them get that makes the Big Bud look normal sized.
The first cart we had was a 400 bu. Big 12 behind a 4020...wow how about the changes in the last 55 years.

Awesome Video & brilliant editing, what a lovely new case 620 tractor & grain cart! Here in the uk farms are having to harvest at 26% moisture & dry it, that's if they can get to a feild as we have had over 120mm rain in August!

This is amazing footage for case IH, the talent you have for filming is just crazy. And all during your actual job as farmer. Great work Welker family and lets hope Case IH lends this tractor to you for a longer period of time.

As much i like it... its kinda unnesessary, its wasted diesel since the big turbo cant spool up that fast.
If you put the hammer down getly the engine wont roll coal, the punch on the driveline wont be has hard(less wear) and it will be a bit better for the enivroment. But atleast thats real big chunk carbon black, not the fine stuff they got VW at the balls for.

I will not get this, ever. Why would you be happy for not being able to breathe pure air? The less we have of this, the more healthy we are, and the older we get while still keeping our mind and memories. (Alzheimer is proven to be higher along highways, that is just one thing). I get that these things cannot be electric yet, too much energy needed in a short harvest season. But for anyone thinking that rolling coal is cool in any way, shape or form, that is ridiculous.
They are actually pretty good on fuel. Under steady load they burn nice and clean at the pipe. Nick said once what gph they burned, and it was close ish to new stuff. Probably ( likely ) worse on emissions. But not drastically worse. There are many reasons to keep these lovely tractors working.
Heck, I bet if they made Legarms fit ecodiesel engines at some point in the future, he would. Because it would still make economic sense.

Why don’t you use the abandoned gas wells as the base for flag poles.
That way you'll still be able to see them!
Maybe also put some reflectors there so that you can see them at night
@@hazgebu yep. just ram a pole in the ground and put a flag on it or paint it bright orange with reflectors or something.
Couldn't you map them into the farm GPS and field maps?

A little over half a million dollar bills to be exact 😂. My family farm actually has been looking at one. But we haven't been able to get everyone on board with the purchase. I'm actually against it since we just picked up a bunch of new land. But I only have a small share in things.

On the abandoned gas lines can't you put stakes with reflectors on them ? That way at night lights from tractor will light up the reflectors showing you where the gas lines are .. Just a idea

I swear if they can ever get a PTO on one of them big buds they'll sooooo probly get a grain cart
Wont a hydraulic motor do the same? I means place a hydraulic motor at the same place as PTO of quadtrac is and it should work, ofcourse the condition that Big Bud has a hydraulic pump as powerful as needed.
@@hp2084 I don't think hydraulic motors have the kinda power required, maybe not enough torque or HP to support that big and many augers
I think the issue with a hydraulic pto may be in the tractors ability to output enough flow and pressure to turn it. High pressure, high flow hydraulics require some pretty fancy, big, expensive pumps. That also use a ton of power.
An idraulic motor can do the same, charts dont require 400 hp to run, im sure you need 100 hp to move it, for me i think its not a big deal, we have do a similar thing in a small chart (3 tons) with a pump big like an hand

@Noxcoma a 2021 620 quadtrac for 520k?! Don’t know in America but in Canada a 620 quad is about 700k. I realize now that’s much less than I thought it was
I dont know where you are getting 1.8 million... but the graincart is around 150-160k that leaves 650-640 give or take for the 620. Okay i didnt add in tax...lets call it 850... happy???

Good set up, now you got me wishing I had that set for our farm. Good shots of the sun and machinery .
I just have a hard time wrapping my head around the unloading volume of that grain cart. A thousand bushels a minute? The trailers we used in the beginning only held 1100 bushels.
It is pretty unreal when it unloads, operator is always on his toes!

How about unloading on the go into the trucks and then you wont need pto tractors and carts.

Man... I'm so jealous.. I grew up on the farm, till I was 17.. I sure miss it.. We never had equipment this big, but i've always been a Steiger fan.. so much so, that on my recent holidays I actually stopped at CaseIH to look at the 620 quad.. beautiful.. you're not gonna want to get back in the Bud's. And that grain cart.. 1000 bushels a minute to unload.. DAMN!!! Soooo Jealous... if i'm ever out that way, would love to tag along

That swivel chair is the best.
Here in michigan we have a 580 quadtrac. We use it for tillage and grain cart. We run a 10 shank chisel plow in the fall with ease with that tractor. It also pulls a 55 foot field cultivator in the spring. We run case tractors but our combines are johndeere. We think that case tractors are better priced and are built better but johndeere combines are better in our opinion. We tend to not prefer a particular brand because they all have their strong and weak points . Nice video stay safe and farm on my friends !

Hard to beat the simpleness of the casih flagship combines. 2 chains and one belt with one rotor. And the deslugger is awesome. No more digging out plugged rotors
@@RobertWelkerFarmerBob yeah the case combines are simple but we prefer our deere combines. Mostly green combines here in our area of michigan. We buy our machines slightly used at dealer inventory reduction auction sales . We can buy a 1 or 2 year old machine for a third of the cost with very low hours . We just purchased a s680 with 159 separator hours for 289 thousand with a 40 foot draper header.
Wow,.....have things changed over the years!!! Back when I was growing up in the 60's and early 70's, we had Flare Box wagons that would hold around 100 - 150 bushels of shelled corn, soybeans, or oats, depending on how high your sideboards were. Your Brent Grain Cart could haul a bunch of Flare Box wagons (the whole wagon).
Those abandoned gas wells need to have a 30ft circle sprayed with Round Up and have 10ft tall flags put on them so you CAN'T miss them. And the gas company is the one who needs to do it, 3 times a year.

When I grew up helping my Dad farm in Wisconsin some 70 years ago I never imagined that someday in the future farmers would complain about the quality of the speakers in the cab. Wow!
Great video as always and thank you for sharing. That is a awesome setup. That is a lot different than the International 856 and 1586 for field work I used when I worked on a farm 26ish years ago.
For those abandoned wells, how about putting in a 4x4 post with reflectors on it?
I was thinking, raid the scrap pile, make some of those sculptures, you know those huge metal monsters, make one of leg arms!
We use 10 ft . Piece of yellow poly drainage tile.
Would reflectors work in the day? I mean, in an intersection yeah, but on a farm field...they kinda lose to the nature. Considering all their major equipment has GPS, i think it would be simpler to put a "no-fly" zone around that. Surely there has to be a feature for that.

you could always cut a 10' piece of oil well casing and make a flag to put up on those old well heads
or get off yer ass and use the weed wacker.
@@onestepatatime2346 They farm 10,000acres, driving to that spot in the middle of the land when there is wheat growing will destroy a lot of crop and walking till there with a weed wacker would be more then get your ass off thing.
You may want to consider using technology (GPS/mapping) when you plant the field(s) to mark the location so when you harvest the crops, it would show the location of the old gas wells etc. and you could avoid hitting them.

For those gas pipes sticking out of the ground why not get some bicycle flags to put on them... That way you can see them even when grown over.
Which is more expensive some flags or a head??
Could you tag them on the GPS systems as hazards too?
If not that then cut them off at ground level.
Build a fence and gravel it off so the grass doesn't grow.

@@animenut69 as he mentioned, there will be government regulations about the oil / gas company abandonment procedures, mainly they need to be able to find them in the future.
Even the Farmers Almanac said it was gonna be a dry summer.. boy they weren't kidding down here in Northeast Wyoming!! We dried up in June and are still dry as a popcorn fart!! 😂😂😂

Wow... the Bud is a BIG tractor ---- but that monster of a grain cart dwarf's it. But then all your machinery is huge, I am based in North Devon UK, a big field around here might be 40 acres !!!!! Yep that's true, farming is all about "trade off", and balancing the known against the unknown. Gut feeling, knowing your land and LUCK . Your editing just gets better and better.

Just an idea why dont you just put up a ring with tall wooden poles with flag or red spraypaint where these gaswellpipes are at 👍🏻 and youncould put on reflecting tape/material that will glove in the dark when hit by a light

Peas yes. Some spring wheat did well but some came in lower next to chem followed fields, suspecting voluntization of Latigo drift.
