  • In this video, we show you how easy it is to install a Cardo intercom/bluetooth kit to your helmet.
    In this example, we are using an HJC i70, and a Cardo Spirit with JBL upgrade kit. It is the same process for the Spirit HD, Freecom 2x, Freecom 4X and Packtalk Bold.
    For a full breakdown on each model available from Cardo, check out our website here - www.motonz.com/cardo-intercom...

    Wow you got the whole collection! Nice, thanks for this.
    The mounting process has always been sort of a hangup for me, but this makes it seem simple.

    I just got an HJC RPHA 70 ST and installed a Spirit HD in it. I tried it today for the first time and am impressed so far with both the power and quality of the sound as well as the features. Much better sound than the Cardo Q-Solo in my old helmet, although this is probably somewhat due to not having to play through the cheek pads as was the case in my old helmet. Regarding installation though, I wasn't comfortable running the wires to the unit as in this vid, fearing they would get pinched over time, so I cut a small notch in the plastic part of the pad where it slips into the helmet and routed the wires through it.

      Hey, thanks for your comment.
      Good idea RE: cutting a notch in the plastic for the wires. Every helmet is slightly different.
      Glad you are happy with your Cardo.

    What a brilliant presentation Ray, I've just bought the Cardo single system and the included instructions are very poor even the Cardo RUclips instructions are not as good as yours so thanks for your efforts. subbed you and looking forward to watching your bike reviews. regards from the UK.

    Good video, thanks! I have the AGV K3 SV Helmet, will I have any issues with fitment of the spirit HD unit? Thanks.

      I've not used that helmet, so couldn't comment sorry.
      if there are spaces for the speakers (or you can make space for the speakers) then you should be fine though.

    Have you tried the audio quality on the lower end ones? I tried looking for answers, but to no avail. Are 32mm ones that bad? So far the internet says to go for JBL ones straight away, but they are twice as expensive in comparison to Spirit non-HD. If you tried them, I'd be interested to hear how good/bad the 32mm and 40mm ones are compared to JBL ones. I'm looking to spend the least amount of money to get comms between 2 riders going, music aspect is not relevant for my use case. So, I'm wondering if I'm going to regret getting the stock Spirits with 32mm speakers.

    • @MotoNZ
      @MotoNZ  2 года назад

      if you're purely talking between riders. no music, then 32mm will be fine. plus, if you decide down the track to upgrade, you can.

    • @MotoNZ
      @MotoNZ  2 года назад

      also, think about how far apart your riders are. the lower spec models have less range. Rider to pillion will be fine with the Spirit. rider to rider I wouldn't go below the X2 personally.

    hello this setup possible? 3 of us have bold, my passenger is on a spirit.

    • @MotoNZ
      @MotoNZ  2 года назад

      Yes, you set up a DMC group for the bold units, then use phone Chanel 2 to connect to the spirit. Then turn on bridge mode.

      @@MotoNZ thanks for the reply I'll try to ff your instructions, with that, does it mean we can talk at the same time and hear each other? If possible can you teach me the steps?

    • @MotoNZ
      @MotoNZ  2 года назад

      Yes, you will all be able to talk to each other.
      Maybe I should do a video about it.

    Hello, do you think the Cardo Spirit HD is an upgrade over the Freecom 4+ in terms of audio quality? Thanks

    • @MotoNZ
      @MotoNZ  2 года назад

      Hi Max,
      yes I would say it is, but remember the Freecom + still has longer intercom range than the Spirit models.
      The Spirit HD would be a great upgrade if you're just listening to music, but if you want intercom with half decent range then I would be looking at the Freecom 2X or 4X.

    • @Max.527
      @Max.527 2 года назад +1

      @@MotoNZ thanks! I am only listening to music for now. The Freecom 4+ is capable. I'll resist the urge in upgrading for now 🤣

    • @MotoNZ
      @MotoNZ  2 года назад

      @@Max.527 If its just for music, when you do decide to upgrade, just be sure you get a model with he 45mm JBL speakers, and you'll be happy.

    hello does cardo pakctalk bold can share music with cardo spirit? thanks

    • @MotoNZ
      @MotoNZ  Год назад

      Don’t think so.
      The bold runs Bluetooth and DMC and I believe it’s the dmc function that shares the music.

      @MotoNZ  Год назад

      I'm sorry, im not sure what youre asking... if you're asking "can you connect the spirit or the freecom to the bold?"
      The yes, they can be connected via the 2nd bluetooth channel.
