Was REALLY hoping you'd cover the scene of Senua grabbing the slaver's sword and then doing an axe strike to the back of his leg, but you only covered the first half of that scene. I think she gets him right in the calf muscle, because he's suffering from a significant limp throughout the rest of the game, I believe.

Speaking of grabbing a sharp blade: under most circumstances it won't cut unless it slides in your hand. Thus, it's paradoxically safer to grab it hard!
Obviously, a callous hand used to a lot of menial work is less prone to getting cut and wearing something like a leather glove would make it near completely safe.
Why grab a blade besides defense? Halfswording (better leverage and tip control) and murder strike come to mind (whacking a helmet with the crossguard)

In real sword combat blood does not squirt like that even if you hit a jugular vein. Machete wounds and sword wounds would look almost the same except a sword would cause more damage to bone because it is a little heavier and designed to cut through human flesh. In Germany a hema group was fighting with sharp blades and had lots of accidents. However, blood doesn't squirter it, just pours out the body like any kinda cut. Grabbing a sword is not as dangerous as one thinks. It cannot cut unless it is slide through your hand which is easier said then done against a resisting opponent. The cut would be very minor compared to what it could do if it escaped your hand. Also most swords are only sharpened about six inches of the blade from the tip. So the majority of the blade is dull.

I'm glad mental disorders are being accurately represented in media nowadays. Schizophrenia isn't just seeing things, it's mostly it's subtle noises and consonants just out of view. Like a *_pop_* or nonsensical whisper. I've even heard my name called out at night. I was prescribed hal-dol and have been living a healthy life since 👍

Grabbing a blade seems like a silly move, cos the person weilding it could just pull back and slice up the hand of the person who grabbed it, especially if the state of the situation is that they don't care about what injuries they're inflicting on each other... :\
