Premise: Quentin wanted to have Salma pour liquor on her body and off her feet into his mouth somehow. So, he became a great movie director/writer, he created this whole movie, cast himself in the role, just to accomplish his goal. Life gives you challenges, it's your job to overcome them.
It is dope. But it didn’t put it on the map. The writing and acting put it on the map for intellectuals. The dope vampire story and George put it on the map for the rest of us. Salma was already on the map. If you were 14 and didn’t understand the rest of it. It could be your first experience with both. It’s like how people 27 and younger don’t understand Tupac.
"Peter Cushing does it all the time!" Dawn - "Who?" Peter Cushing (who most know as Tarkin from Star Wars: A New Hope) starred in many films for Hammer studios, who made a ton of vampire movies with stars like Peter and Christopher Lee. Lotta fun if you enjoy campy horror.

I’ve been watching a lot of peoples first time reactions watching movies and I’ve just discovered your channel and I love it. Your reactions are so good, you have such a cool sense of humour.
The director, Robert Rodriguez, has a ton of great movies. While most are recommending Desperado, please be aware that Desperado is the middle movie of a trilogy that starts with El Mariachi and ends with Once Upon A Time In Mexico.
This does have one of my favorite lines in film history: "Psychos do not explode when sunlight hits them, I don't give a fuck how crazy they are!" It's such a comical movie, because it feels like it was written by 13-year-old boys who ran out of ideas halfway through. Okay, so they got to Mexico, and they're at the nudie bar! Yeah! Nudie bar! Now what? Uhh.... I dunno..... uhh.... everyone turns into vampires! Yeah!!!!" By the way, that's the great Tom Savini playing sex machine. He's one of the best special effects / makup guys in Hollywood. Legend in the horror genre. Fred Williamson is the huge dude, Frost. He's a legend of '70s "blaxploitation" action films. That's a wild subgenre you may want to explore someday. That's Cheech Marin playing three different roles in this. He's buddies with Robert Rodriguez, and was a big druggie comedy actor along with Tommy Chong back in the day. The guy whose name you couldn't remember is Danny Trejo. He's one of those dudes who pops up all over the freaking place, particularly in Robert Rodriguez movies.
Robert Kurtzman came up with the story, and gave it to Tarantino to work on. It was his intention to have a crime drama become a survival horror with vampires. Tarantino set up the screenplay, so it felt more like something Robert Rodriguez would do. Rodriguez directed it in a style that felt as if Tarantino did it. That's how great of a friendship those two have.
A woman who adnits when something is sexy, funny and cool in a horror movie is a keeper. Another epic reaction from one of the best reactors on youtube. Keep it going girl.
Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez works together fairly often: - this movie - Four Rooms - the movie that consists of four stories taking place during a single night in a hotel, each directed by a different person, one by Tarantino, one by Rodriguez - Desperado - Rodriguez's classic with a small but memorable role played by Quentin Tarantino - Sin City - movie based on Frank Miller's comic, directed by Rodriguez, Miller and Tarantino - Kill Bill - Rodriguez worked on the soundtrack for the second part - Grindhouse - double feature inspired and in style of exploitation films of the 70s, Planet Terror by Robert Rodriguez and Deathproof by Quentin Tarantino There might be more.
Don't forget Sex Machine was Tom Savini, a famous special effects guy known for Creepshow, Friday the 13th and Dawn of the Dead. The bartender was Danny Trejo, the best bad guy out there.
Tarantino directed the first half brilliantly as a crime drama and starred in it. Then he passed it off to his friend, Robert Rodriguez, who directed the horror second half in Mexico. Rodriguez also directed "Sin City", a super cool action movie, based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller. That for me, brilliantly equaled Tarantino's "Kill Bill" movies, as an action art film.
I can't quite explain it, but every time I hear "Carlos" ask "What, were they psychos?" in the end it just cracks me up, I find it sooooo funny somehow!!! Best movie ever!! xD Thanks for uploading! Greetings from Sweden
I love how Seth and Jacob don’t like each other, but are willing to put their differences aside to fight a common enemy. In this case, vampires. I also love Seth’s speech to Jacob about how he’s their best chance against the vamps, and how Jacob accepts that responsibility. Plus, there’s something funny about Jacob censoring himself.
Director Robert Rodriguez, Quentin Tarantino and Selma Hayek preceded this with Desperado, which I highly recommend watching if you haven't already. Long time subscriber, first time commenter (I watch youtube on my tv so to comment I have to jump on my computer and search for a video to comment, it's annoying, so I rarely do). I love your videos. You are beautiful and hilarious and the Scottish accent is my favorite to listen to. I also dig your taste in movies. You like the darker ones that I tend to like and laugh at all the same parts I love. You have a sick sense of humor and it's refreshing. And when I was a kid, everytime I would see a movie in the theaters that I loved I would always say it was th "best movie ever". My number one favorite movie of all time is True Romance. I spent a couple weeks in your country last year. I particularly loved Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Obin. I thought you would find it interresting to know that I happen to be the proud owner of some movie props and Mafia owned items. In my collection I have Mr. Blonde's (Michael Madsen) shoulder holster from Reservoir Dogs, the very one worn when he cuts the ear off and is shot. I also have Jacob's (Harvey Keitel) preacher ID and the registration sticker from the RV in From Dusk Till Dawn. I had a newspaper prop from Natural Born Killers but I framed it and gave it a friend recently. I have several props from Jackie Brown (I see that you said you have it up on Patreon so you've seen it, so I'll tell you what all props I have from it). I have Jackie Brown's jail bracelet and a Max Cherry ink pen, Ordell's (Sam L. Jackson) Raptors duffel bag (he holds it up to show Max he has the money to bail out Beaumont and holds up a duffel bag "I got it in my Raptor bag"). I also have some random paper cups and napkins from the food court in the mall with the names and logos of fictional restaurants "Bust A Cap Coffee" and "Teriyaki Donut". I also have some items given to the crew (no, I wasn't involved with the crew, I purchased them from prop warehouses about 18 years ago, they were auctioned off on eBay actually). Crew items like a Jackie Brown Kangol hat and a yo-yo. The Jackie Brown items are currently getting framed but waiting on little plaques to be made to include in the framing. The From Dusk Till Dawn items recently got framed finally and just yesterday actually the Reservoir Dogs items finally got framed and the frame shop called and sent a photo, just waiting for me to pick up. Another item you would be interested in is a knife personally owned and carried around by the real life Henry Hill (played by Ray Liota in Goodfellas), along with a handwritten note from him. He was an artist in his later years and lived out in the open as a celebrity after Goodfellas came out. He left witness protection and lived in Las Vegas for his golden years. I personally bought the knife from him and we exchanged a few emails in the last year or two of his life. The knife and letter are also at the frame shop, waiting for me to get a plaque made to frame with them. Keep up the great videos and I'll keep watching. Can't wait to see Scotland again some day. Please don't forget to include Four Rooms in your Tarantino journey. Your American fan, Jeff Myers.
Fine to see this, "Desperado" and also - not a Tarantino-Movie - "Once Upon a Time in America" is worth seeing! ... btw you´ll be the first one on YT who reacts on it!😉
Awesome, right? Back in the mid 90's my mom actually took me to see this at the movies when I was a kid. Mom apparently really wanted to see it and I was used to horror and action at that time, and man I'm so glad I went with her.
George Clooney became famous in the 90’s where he played a children’s doctor on a massive tv series called ER. He was on it for years and became the housewives favourite because of his good looks and the character h3 played. From that he got his break in Hollywood movies like Ocean’s Eleven / Ocean’s Twelve which were huge box office hits. From those he just got bigger and bigger and richer & richer. The Carey Grant, Steve McQueen or Paul Newman of his generation….. with Brad Pitt of course !
Did you notice that Tarantino played the psycho brother? 😂 Also from Reservoir Dogs Mr.White is the priest guy aka Harvey Keitel. Also the dude at the end who had picked the place is kinda frequent in Rodriquez movies but he played 3 parts 😅 He was the bordel patrol, the vampire who was at the outside of the bar yelling and the end criminal who opened the doors. Also the movie was really wrote for the special effects, such as puppets, heads, all kinda props and make-up. It was somekinda a deal which spesifics I don't remember, but Tarantino had promised to write it for prosthetic designer Robert Kurtzman for something he had done that I don't remember.
Peter Cushing who is mentioned in the movie is a legendary horror actor. He is renowned for his appearances in Hammer Films. The quote in "From Dusk till Dawn" which talks about how Peter Cushing would deal with vampires comes from his ongoing role as Van Helsing, the first of which is in the 1958 classic "Horror of Dracula." Non-Horror fans know him as Grand Moff Tarkin in "Star Wars: A New Hope." Cushing has acting credits in 131 movies.
This movie was essential for Tarantino’s career. He initially wrote it for Alex Kurtzman, a horror director and the head of KNB Visual Effects. In exchange for the script, KNB did all the blood and gore effects for Reservoir Dogs for free. Greg Nicotero, Kurtzman’s partner at KNB even appears in this flick as the guy who pulls a switchblade on Sex Machine.
There's a three season long tv series based on this film that takes the film story, and then expands on it, adding a different take on the Geko brothers, and adding loads of extra lore and back story on the vampires. It's worth a watch.
Why, its already R rated , in many areas , why try to make it a PG 13 movie in USA ? In Europe we dont care what color the blood is , rating comes from violence and adult content. Renny Harlin said during Cliffhanger, this is idiotic, i can show how many gun deaths i like, have even one look realistic and its instant R rating.
Loool the reaction to Salma turning was the same I had. I remember i went to see the movie at the theater blind without any idea of wht kinda genre it was😂😂
Cheech Marin (of Cheech & Chong comedy duo) plays 3 different roles in this movie. Cross on the bullet also done in the movie Priest (another vampire movie (sort of. Technically vampires, but behave more like fast zombies)).
21:10 Peter Cushing was a British actor best known for his roles as Van Helsing in the Hammer Films Dracula movies (which is what is being referenced here), and as Grand Moff Tarkin in the 1977 "Star Wars."
The first half was all Tarantino, the second half was all Rodriguez. Together they made magic. Yes, the entire thing is darkly funny, with some bits being over the top hilarious. That's what makes the whole movie so fun. It would have been a very different - and inferior - movie if they'd played it completely straight. The whole thing with Santanica Pandemonium was because Tarantino in real life has a foot fetish. Sucking on Salma Hayek's toes must have been a career highlight for him. Speaking of Salma Hayek, another great one with her (and with her looking amazing) is Desperado, the second in Robert Rodriguez' "Mexico" trilogy. And for a great later role for her, check out Everly, in which she is absolutely badass. There was horror movie royalty in this one. Aside from cameos from actors (and there were a bunch), the guy whose beer Sex Machine stole was played by Greg Nicotero, one of the top names in movie F/X, especially horror. Sex Machine himself is Tom Savini. He's the guy who came up with the effects for George Romero's Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead. Nicotero got his start basically apprenticing under Savini on Day of the Dead, where he also had a small acting role. Given that you were full-on into the effects on this one, I highly recommend the first three movies of the Dead trilogy. However, I actually recommend going for the Tom Savini directed remake of Night of the Living Dead instead of the original. The original is amazing and ground-breaking and has great social commentary, but the remake refines it, and brings it into the (semi-) modern day. Some of the characters who were a waste of space in the original are fleshed out and much more interesting in the remake.
O' BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU is a Clooney movie you must see. The clown factor will have you rolling in the aisle. Gut busting fun for you. And don't forget to watch NATIONAL LAMPOON'S ANIMAL HOUSE. You seem to enjoy a good comedy so there you go. God bless you, Dawn Marie. BEST CHANNEL EVER!!!
8:28 Good catch. That is Winston Wolf from Pulp Fiction, a.k.a. Larry, a.k.a. Mr. White from Reservoir Dogs. 14:32 Something is definitely about to happen. A couple things, in fact, and neither of them are what you'd expect. 😍😱 15:20 What a fun coincidence for Tarantino that he just happens to be playing this particular character in this particular scene. 🦶❤
Most chaotic but absolutely hilarious movie from Tarantino. And Cloony played in a lot of movies. The Peacemaker (action movie), The Perfect Storm (wirth watching), Oceans Eleven, and Three Kingsare good movies. He played in a lot more. I remeber him from the TV serie ER. I'm a big fan of Tarantino. First movie was Reservoir Dogs (lot of famous actors in it). Now a cult movie. Love it when you're laughing and love your accent.
Peter Cushing (you would recognize him as Grand Moff Tarkin from Star Wars) played vampire hunter Dr. Van Helsing in a number of Hammer Production Films, all of which are worth seeing. I think you would absolutely love them, as much as you laughed at this one.
Do you know this is a full-blown comedy I know it's dark humor but the way she was laughing was just Way beyond normal amount of laughter in the movie I didn't think it was that funny
10:57 - Cheech Marin, role #1: Border Patrol agent. 11:54 - Cheech Marin, role #2: Chet P*ssy. 13:25 - Tom Savini, famous horror movie makeup artist and occasional actor. 21:18 - "Who?" - Peter Cushing, a famous British horror movie actor from the 50s to the 70s. He played Vader's boss, Grand Moff Tarkin, in the original Star Wars. 28:21 - Cheech Marin, role #3: Carlos.
This is my guilty pleasure! I really like George Clooney’s character in this movie. Of course, there is the beautiful Selma Hayek as Santanico Pandonico! And you laughed all the way through! lol!
Hello Dawn Marie I think a really good George Clooney film is Ocean's 11 it is a remake where they get to gather a gang of 11 guys who rob 3 Las Vegas Casino,s a awesome film I highly recommend this one
This was a hilarious reaction, and is why I love Dawn's reactions so much. I'd love to see some of the other reaction ladies watch this film, particularly Cassie from Popcorn In Bed and Natalie Gold.
So you know the Border Patrol agent, the MC talking about p***y & Carlos at the end is Cheech Marin from Cheech & Chong & the bartender is Danny Trejo✌💖☮
This movie was an exercise in directing and writing. Tarantino wtote and directed one movie (a crime drama) and then handed it iff to his friend Robert Rodriguez to write and direct the second half. He had no idea what Rodriguez was gonna do. Vampires. Rodriguez was always gonna do vampires. 😂😂😂
This is just a crazy romp of a movie. It's like Rodriguez and Tarantino were sitting around with a bunch of props from their movies and came up with a story to throw them together.
The woman who they had hostage in the trunk, played Butch’s mom in Pulp Fiction. Another movie that I think you should watch with Juliette Lewis, the actress from Natural Born Killers, is Kalifornia. 15:33 That just means you’re human, Dawn. I don’t think that there is anyone alive who wouldn’t be at least a little bit turned on by Salma Hayek.
Great film,The cop that goes about the RV, the "p@@@y guy", Carlos is legendary 70s stoner star Cheech Marin, the guy behind the bar is Danny Trejo (who features in nearly every film ever), the preacher is Harvey keitel and the guy with the crotch gun "sex machine" is legendary effects man / director Tom Savini, theres also legendary 70s stars John Saxon and Fred Williamson in there, and legendary film effects make Greg Nicotero
Fun movie Dawn Marie! Selma hiyek is gorgeous even as a vampire snake 🐍! Great reaction Dawn don't watch the sequels. Lol thanks for sharing Dawn Marie ❤️💛

Peter Cushing (who most know as Tarkin from Star Wars: A New Hope) starred in many films for Hammer studios, who made a ton of vampire movies with stars like Peter and Christopher Lee. Lotta fun if you enjoy campy horror.

Peter Cushing also played Doctor Who so it might be a joke.

Christopher Lee: "I have no lines in this movie"
Peter Cushing: "You're lucky. I've actually read the script"
When a Brit doesn't know who Peter Cushing is, there is no hope.
Sex Machine is Tom Savini, the iconic make-up artist (the Romero DEAD films, FRIDAY THE 13th, etc.)
I saw him at a horrorcon. I asked him if he invented and built the "penis gun," and yes, of course he did. He still has it if I'm not mistaken.

"Sin City" (2005) and "Sin City: A Dame to Kill for" (2014) are also directed by Robert Rodriguez.

You need to see him getting into a fight this fourth of july. He's like 70-something and still tough as nails.

And he makes a cross with big metal candle holders in HOD.
Green blood was used for the vampires to get the movie past the censors
Why, its already R rated , in many areas , why try to make it a PG 13 movie in USA ?
In Europe we dont care what color the blood is , rating comes from violence and adult content.
Renny Harlin said during Cliffhanger, this is idiotic, i can show how many gun deaths i like, have even one look realistic and its instant R rating.
@@pete_lind the gore PLUS the nudity pushed it to X rated…. This was also right around the time Madonna was fighting the censors over he Concert movie
@@pete_lind It would have been rated even higher than Rated R.
@@pete_lind It most likely would've gotten NC-17 or X, which means no theater would show it.
Loool the reaction to Salma turning was the same I had. I remember i went to see the movie at the theater blind without any idea of wht kinda genre it was😂😂
Dawn Marie!! You just laughed thru the whole of a very serious vampire movie!!! lol
My most beloved movie still to this day
the guy behind the bar.. Machete. Must See📽️
I wish I had not known this was a vampire movie the first time I watched it. Even then I think this movie had the biggest left turn ever.
Another good Coen Bros. movie with Clooney is "Burn After Reading".
There is a streaming series that goes deeper into the temple
When I saw you were going to react to this movie I could hardly wait. Well I wasn't disappointed thank you Dawn. Keep on keeping on Dawn. 😊
I luv this silly movie since it came out. So glad you had fun. Really good vid Dawn
Dawn Marie, I laughed along with you, I haven’t seen this movie in a while but I loved it. You accent is lovely too and your reviews are fun.
8:28 Good catch. That is Winston Wolf from Pulp Fiction, a.k.a. Larry, a.k.a. Mr. White from Reservoir Dogs.
14:32 Something is definitely about to happen. A couple things, in fact, and neither of them are what you'd expect. 😍😱
15:20 What a fun coincidence for Tarantino that he just happens to be playing this particular character in this particular scene.
"How did he know it was bats?" He was Batman that's how 😅
:Slow Clap:
"Psychos do not explode when sunlight hits them! I don't give a f*ck how crazy they are!"
"You will spend eternity as my footstool"
No thanks, I've been married
Yep - been there / done that.
your name will be... spot
Peter Cushing (you would recognize him as Grand Moff Tarkin from Star Wars) played vampire hunter Dr. Van Helsing in a number of Hammer Production Films, all of which are worth seeing. I think you would absolutely love them, as much as you laughed at this one.
Every day has Dawn, although not always as sunny as you….
It’s cool to see people watch this movie for the first time without knowing the big twist.
Do you know this is a full-blown comedy I know it's dark humor but the way she was laughing was just Way beyond normal amount of laughter in the movie I didn't think it was that funny
Yes, that actor played Winston Wolfe in Pulp Fiction. He also played the pimp "Sport" in Taxi Driver. His name is Harvey Keitel.
He also plays Winston Woolfe in a lot of car insurance adverts.
and you can see his pee pee in several of his other movies!
Bad lieutenant is a great Harvey Keitel performance.
Finally watched somebody enjoy this movie as much as I do.❤
Holy sh*t George Clooney broke fourth wall 16:21 😂
10:57 - Cheech Marin, role #1: Border Patrol agent.
11:54 - Cheech Marin, role #2: Chet P*ssy.
13:25 - Tom Savini, famous horror movie makeup artist and occasional actor.
21:18 - "Who?" - Peter Cushing, a famous British horror movie actor from the 50s to the 70s. He played Vader's boss, Grand Moff Tarkin, in the original Star Wars.
28:21 - Cheech Marin, role #3: Carlos.
My favorite vampire movie so much fun. 😊
This is my guilty pleasure! I really like George Clooney’s character in this movie. Of course, there is the beautiful Selma Hayek as Santanico Pandonico! And you laughed all the way through! lol!
You're the best, Dawn!!! 😅 Absolutely 💯
George Clooney has yet to top this role.
no ones cooler than seth...first role id seen Clooney in after e.r.... completely changed my mind on him...😎✌️
Not only a great George Clooney movie but a pretty decent vampire movie at the same time
8:29 "Is that Winston Wolf?" yes and he's the pimp from Taxi Driver too.
28:45 My favorite line in any/every movie. The best deliverance too
Nice pick! This one's a banger!
Hello Dawn Marie I think a really good George Clooney film is Ocean's 11 it is a remake where they get to gather a gang of 11 guys who rob 3 Las Vegas Casino,s a awesome film I highly recommend this one
you should react to Desperado (1995)
Antonio Banderas , Salma Hayek , Quentin Tarantino
Directed by Robert Rodriguez
Some other Robert Rodriguez movies worth checking out are El Mariachi (both versions) Once upon a time in Mexico and uncharacteristically Spy Kids.
It's holy water in those ballons.
The sight of Winston Wolff driving a big old RV is amazing.
My 3rd favorite movie of all time!!! And yes, it’s supposed to be that funny😂
_i recommend you + _*_Robert Rodríguez_*_ movies :_

yes please
+2
Now you need to do one of the Dracula movies from the 60's with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing
Such a good movie!
This is just a crazy romp of a movie. It's like Rodriguez and Tarantino were sitting around with a bunch of props from their movies and came up with a story to throw them together.
"Look at the boobs on that one"
- Dawn Marie, 2024
(18:47😄😄)
Serial Mom is the movie you reminded me of while watching this with you. You may want to check it out! Fun horror 🤪
What's in Mexico?
MEXICANS
ay caramba
Taco, tequila
15:37 It’s good to be the guest director!
Im a new sub to your channel, love your accent and still laughing your south park movie reaction
Fun movie Dawn Marie! Selma hiyek is gorgeous even as a vampire snake 🐍! Great reaction Dawn don't watch the sequels. Lol thanks for sharing Dawn Marie ❤️💛
Please put Michael Parks as Earl the Sherrif somewhere in your memory for later Tarantino/ Rodriguez films.
Vampires can't handle the sun, vampires can't handle Dawn.
