David has recorded a few live albums. Not sure how much they might go back and tweak afterward, but I'm sure it's because of the connection with the musicians that he loves doing the live versions. They all look like they're having so much fun, and that's something you can feel in the music. Also, not that there's one in this filming, but David is also one of those that is even better when there's an audience. As a performer myself, there's always a shared connection not only with those you perform with but also with an audience that you can't manufacture.

West side story is about two rival gangs in a big city. One of the gang members falls in love with a woman from the rival gang. Their love is doomed as they are kinda trapped in their circumstances. In the end the guy dies in a gang fight. Great broadway show. The song is about the two lovers dreaming about escaping their environment.
This is the first time I’ve heard David sing “Somewhere.” This song is from the 1957 Broadway musical West Side Story that was made into films in 1961 and 2021. Music composed by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Great reaction!
