Luckily he was not free for the past 25 years. He was convicted in 2008 of killing his wife at their home and was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. A Kenosha County judge vacated his conviction in April 2021 after the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that Jensen deserved a new trial. The court found that a letter his wife wrote incriminating him in the event something should happen to her could not be used by the prosecution. He remained in custody on a $1.2 million cash bond, until his new trial.

Is there a limit to how many times someone can appeal? Or can he just keep going to court until he gets the result he wants?

There is certain time 18 months I think where he can make a case for himself and then appeal and if the jury thinks it is legitimate based on his evidence and documents or prove bias of the judge or the jury, then the appeal is accepted or rejected

@@9ine-fd6zc Slight correction: "...if the jury thinks it is legitimate..." No, it's the appellate court that considers the appeal, but I'm sure that's what you meant to say. Also another grounds for appeal can be a mistake by the judge, such as allowing evidence that should have been excluded, or instructing the jury incorrectly.

@@andrewvelonis5940 Ok thank you, I didn't know about the appellate court and the other reason for appeal, learned something new

They need to have grounds for appeal and the error has to be so significant that it would reasonably have changed the outcome. There can be errors made but if they weren’t significant enough then it will usually be considered harmless error. But the chances of appeals being successful are very low. The chance that there is another new error that rose to the level of a new trial is even lower.

It's gonna sound bad, but I hope the kids watched this whole trial and have overcome the brainwashing. The fact they support him bothers me to no end.
