WATCH LIVE: Antifreeze Murder Retrial - WI v. Mark Jensen - Sentencing

  • Опубликовано: 13 апр 2023
  • Mark Jensen was charged in 2002 for the 1998 death of his wife Julie Jensen and convicted in 2008. Prosecutors say he poisoned his wife with antifreeze and then smothered her with a pillow when she wasn't dying fast enough. In 2013 a federal judge overturned that life sentence, arguing a letter Julie had written before her death shouldn't have been admitted as evidence. In that letter, Julie wrote that she was afraid her husband would try and kill her. Jensen will now face trial for a second time in January 2023.
Reminder: The defendant, Mark Jensen, is wearing headphones because he’s hard of hearing. Thanks.

What utter nonsense by his defense! Mark caused EVERY hardship to his boys by murdering their mother, and now asks for mercy because they only have him?!? How could she seriously present this to this great judge? Justice would only be served if Julie’s brothers force fed antifreeze to Mark Jensen themselves, but of course, a civilized society doesn’t do that. I couldn’t even listen to all of the defense statement! Omgggg

The fact that someone thinks nothing of torturing and killing another human being - also showing total disregard for the pain and suffering they inflict on everyone that the victim leaves behind, is beyond selfish and evil.
M.J. doesn't deserve to move around freely in society, amongst the rest of us - as he clearly lacks a conscience.
The only way he gets out of prison should be in a plain, wooden box.

The way the system works benefits the wealthy best. If Mark had been wealthier, he could have gotten away with the murder. Everything in government is corruptible, because government is fundamentally corrupt. A related paradox/illusion is: since government is fundamentally corrupt, how can one corrupt what is already corrupt? This suggests that what people consider to be evidence or aspects of "good government" is generally arbitrary.

College graduate making over $200K/year. His wife cheated and he hated her so much because of it that instead of just leaving, he had already found someone else, he still couldn't resist making her pay (even more than how he'd already made her pay by the psychological torture he'd put her through) by taking her life. Yes she chose to cheat on him, and the consequence of that infidelity was the deterioration of their marriage and the breakdown of their family, which are huge, huge consequences for anyone to have to deal with. He just had to give her the ultimate punishment for what she did by taking her life, however he wasn't qualified to be judge, jury and executioner for her mistake. No one is qualified enough to say when someone else should die. Being that he took it upon himself to do so instead of just moving on with his life and enjoying his new relationship, the only just punishment is life in prison. Some people can only dream to live the life he lived, yet he threw it all away over hatred and vengeance. A waste.

    • @zxy78267
      @zxy78267 Год назад +1

One has to consider why she cheated. It was wrong, but she felt so bad about her mistake that she felt she had to come clean and apologize over and over. She asked for his forgiveness. If he couldn't give it to her, just as you said, he should have gotten a divorce like normal people and moved on.
I agree with the judge that it's especially heinous that he chose to torture her mentally for years, then torture her with a painful, horrible death. The judge made the right decision. I hope Julie's boys will reunite with her brothers and learn what kind of person and mother she was.

Sentencing someone (where applicable...) to death costs taxpayers way more than it does to keep them alive in a cell.
And, for a prisoner, a death sentence is the easy way out.
While rotting away in prison, I'd like to see any 'privileges' taken away - one for every year that passes, until there are none left.
Also, moving the prisoner to a cell that's noticeably smaller than the space they're currently in (also on a regular basis...) would be an additional form of punishment.

Man, sons don't need only a father for going fishing! They need to learn how to treat women well and respectfully! From who they should learn this!? From the murderer of their mother!?! He don't deserve even life!!

I was hoping he would have shown remorse for what he did. But he can’t because he is going to appeal. Everything is about him. He cannot be rehabilitated.

No, he doesnt get a do over after what he did to Julie, he took her life and robbed his children of knowing her. She doesnt get a second chance. " My parents need me.. ." well so did his kids, he decided her fate for her, he's a physcopath, a liar and a digusting pervert

Julie finally got justice as well as all her relatives who still suffer from her absence. 🤍
Jensen decided to cruelly take Julie's life, the judge has now decided that he will be in prison for the rest of his.
Hearing the lawyer discredit Douglas' letter and memories, saying that he could have expressed his fears to his father, upset me to no end. When your mother is dead in her bed and you saw her alive in the morning before leaving for school, it’s a terrible shock. Soon after, your father brings a new woman into your life and "replaces" your mother (I don’t blame her, Kelly isn’t the one who killed Julie). It is more than normal to feel fears, anger, confusion after all they’ve been through. Stop trying to play in their heads, it’s soooo wrong!

Smh, this dude destroyed so much. He's not remorseful, and still is MANIPULATIVE especially to his son's. I love & respect this JUDGE, he definitely gave a voice to JULIE. Her brothers seems like wonderful men who loved her dearly. Hopefully one day her son's will see that and gain a relationship with them 🙏🏿!!!

    M. Jensen says.. "This case has gone on forever..........." I just cannot forgive this murder..idk this man so this feeling is completely looking from the outside..this murder was intentional and this deceased
mother may have committed adultery but idt
that she should've been murdered and especially so torturous ..i believe that this woman was hoping for forgiveness and was
literally trapped...just too many horrible, selfish acts..he should not be given parole ever..I appreciate the decision/ruling of this honorable Judge
