Who else was on the edge of their seat while watching this incredible recounting of a high-stakes hijacking from the 1970s? It's fascinating to see how different airport security was back then. What are your thoughts on the measures taken by law enforcement to handle this intense situation?

I remember hearing about hijackings when I was a little girl. My mom was terrified because Dad did a lot of air travel for his job.
I think the law enforcement and the FBI did what they could. I mean, they had like zero security, so they had to rely on the goodwill of onboarding passengers to be decent people. Then this happens. Frankly, anything could happen. He could've been bluffing, but they couldn't take any chances.

I was kinda rooting for this hijacker as he didn’t kill or hurt anyone. Also, he was clever. He played the FBI well.
They caught her him 2 days after. Then he escaped from prison with 3 other convicts.
2 convicts were caught 3 days later.
He was caught 3 months later when he walked into his home w/the 3rd convict.
He shot at the FBI agents and they opened fire and dude went to kiss the ground FOREVER!
The other convict tried to getaway in a car and was caught shortly after.
Interesting enough, McCoy’s widowed sued her previous lawyer and a few authors regarding the misinterpretation of her involvement in their books. She claimed she was innocent, but due to court proceedings she wasn’t. Interestingly enough she wasn’t attested, yet the authors were demanded to pay her and they settled it. WTF? lmfao.

It was just more.easy to High Jack a plane during those times because ALL screening and security was NOT that strong.. i must say this High Jacker was a Phantom Genius to FOOL federal agents that are Highly Educated.. the most interesting thing he NEVER did harm to any passengers or flight girls! He mainly wanted the money 💲💰💰💲 and to escape. This was the most appealing case in history. I did NOT support High Jacking because many lives are at risk including the Pilots! It was ALL well planed by the stranger. Most certainly he knew exactly what he was doing and he turned out to be invisible! Amazing! .did they ever catch him?! 📀📀📀📀📀

Wow this guy is good very good . He had everything all planned out in every detail. Now the burning question is ,is this D.B. Cooper again . This is the 1st time I have heard about a 2nd hijack . A very compelling story but what happened Did this guy avoid the laws . Did he make a clean get away ? I mean who ever put this story out needs to say what happened . And how come this skyjacking did not get much news attention . I think from the way D.B Coooper did this and now this is exactually this same way has D.B.Cooper did it so the chances are he did it again this time with half a million dollars

Same guy obviously £500'000 dollars in 1972 in today's money must be in the millions.
This will last a lifetime if spent wisely.
He has the back of the aircraft door open and could see small towns lit up and would know where jump ..
He has a lot of knowledge about how the FBI works.
Maybe had a relative in the agency.
He did his home work and knowledge of parachuting .
And knew the chutes would of been bugged .
There's more to this than meets the nose

They are older designs but many snipers liked them because they have less peripheral interference and are better for low light conditions when compared to the more common short scope of the time. This was almost 50 years ago.

    1) The pilots should be able to see (video feed and transparent portion off the door) who is knocking on the cockpit door.
    2) The pilots should have video feeds of the passengers.

I think at that point, the crew should have alerted ATC and said were returning to airport weve keyed microphone.
Convicts even bwith an officer with them shouldnt be allowed on normal flight they should be on seperate planes
Nowadays passengers woukd have yelledcto everyone that a passenger had a granade thankfully metal detectors and scanners are now in being, i vadely remenbervid be about 14 year old when three planes were hijacked in libya, they evacuated passengers, but i don't remember if it was cpolice or hijackers who blow up plane i remember that vit was a big unheard of thing in yhose days.
