    Can’t beat a full compost bin with own products , good quality compost at the end when the worms have finished.

      @imperia1999 I am composting everything that I can Steve, and what a difference it makes in Spring, hopefully the worms will be warmer and work harder.

    Hi Terry. It's understandable that certain things got sidelined on the plot and the cabbages were no exception. Look at all those caterpillars. I agree, cut your losses and take the hearts out. Mind you, on a positive note, your fruit this year is second to none. Your little mouse (and rats) are quids in this winter. Terry 👍🐛🐛🐛 Mrs K 💕🌸🌼

    Mickey didn't appeciate some of those ingredients, he was off to a new home. That certainly is a nice big heap there Terry and a great lesson for all of us in building a fabulous heap.. Love thw wool finishing, will be a great addition.

    Now that's one hell of a worm hotel terry full of all that goodness they won't to leave 😅, I know what to do with my urine from now on ,in the with the compost 😅.

    It's all natural, Terry, so all that goodness is just going to recycle the nutrients. I'm so glad you found some waste wool! We got about double that amount for free from a local sheep farm.

    My composting is mainly like your wormery and it works really well.
    I do find some mice in there now and again which I don't mind.
    But I fricking hate rats.😂

      @ericandrachallotmenteers my first bag of coffee grounds went mouldy, didn't have the really hot dry weather you need, but my second bag had that really hot spell, spread them out on the large trays very thinly and bring them in at night time to stop the dew getting into the coffee. Took 3 days.

    Have you tried growing veg ontop of the compost bins in containers and take advantage of the heat?

      @@ibrstellar1080 was thinking about using my manure bin to do that, but time is precious at the moment, but something to think about in the future.

      @@terrykingsallotmentgardening you could cut the front out with an angle grinder, leave a lip at the bottom so it's still collect leechate, if you cut it in such a way to leave a tab of metal on each side, when it slips back in and drops a bit there'd be enough metal on the tabs to bolt thru to hold the front on again.

    Hi Terry, I found that fascinating! I couldn’t put all that on my compost, too close to our building, but reminiscent of playing mud pies when I was a kid😂😂😂. Where did you get the fleece from?

      @izzywizzy2361 got the fleece from a local farmer who couldn't make any money out of them so sold them on Facebook at £20 for a bag, the 1 ton bags you get building materials in, not sure how many fleeces are there, but I will be doing an experiment covering my beds with cardboard, green manure and the fleeces over the winter months to protect my beds.

      @traceypotts9425 the rats are everywhere and it's difficult to control them Tracey so unfortunately we have to live with them, the main problem is that they allow chickens on the next site so they pop over here for pudding after eating their food.......😟
