I'm remembering about 7 Christmases ago, going into a Starbucks one evening and there was a sign saying, 'free pastry if you'll sing a Christmas song.' I stared at the barrista and said, seriously? He grinned and said, "try it!". Took a deep breath, and sang one verse.. (I had been in a choir in San Francisco, so not a difficult task!!!). Barrista looked amazed and thrilled, and slid a pastry at me. I kept on going, the staff clapped and shoved more goodies! I waved to the other customers, and soon everyone was singing. Goodies for all (shop was almost ready to close.....) Favorite memory. Wish you'd walked in, Sean!!!
My mum when in the nursing home before she died used to stand up and start singing in welsh (the nursing home was in leicester). Shecwas a very proud welsh lady from the valleys and her heart was there until the end.
Hi Sean, that scene of all the Welsh people singing made me so happy. This is what British, Irish, Scottish, and Welsh culture is. Please 🙏 god never let it be lost xxx
@Helen44marie hope you're not calling me a bigot? That would be hilarious 😂. I said British, meaning English, Irish, Scottish, and Welsh. Im married to an Irish man, too

I got a first in my nursing degree and then did a masters after, I worked so hard and I've only just finished paying off my debt. I don't regret it, but I feel I have learned so much more since qualifying as a nurse 20 years ago and I've never stopped learning since. I did an environmental science degree prior to that, and I think I only did it because at the time I had no idea what I really wanted to do. I think the University of life has taught me so much more for free! I love being a nurse though. Thank you for sharing all your memories, brought a lot of things flooding back for me ❤
It’s a funny thing Sean but I can relate what you’re saying about London even though I never lived there. My parents lived and worked there for 20 years. I used to go there to visit quite often and stayed there for a couple weeks at a time. So it was a little bit like a second home to me and I got into the vibe every time I was there, and you will know what I mean by vibe, you tend to work and play and drive at a faster pace. My base was Winnington Rd, parallel to Bishops Avenue in Hampstead, a very affluent place as you may know. My parents worked and lived in a big house, mum was the head cook and dad was an all-rounder, the woman, Mrs Rind, was elderly and died, but whilst the lawyers were sorting out the will they still lived in the house, had it to themselves for six years, on full pay! Dad took us out in the Rolls and it was great fun. Good times! Anyway, all good things come to an end and eventually they came back to Pembroke. I really miss my trips to London. I don’t think I would like to live there but I miss my London “Fix”, it has a weird pull on me. Anyway, loving watching your videos, talk soon. 🤙🏼😀🏴

Hi Sean...I think you may have bought a prayer plant. Still loving to visit with you when I get home from the hospital. Yes, my dear husband is still in there and not getting any better. There is a CoVid outbreak on the floor he's on and it's made him even more ill. I wanted so badly to bring him home but it has become clear that I would not be able to mange him at home with all his complex medical issues. We are both shattered.. We've never been apart in 48 years. Anyway, as I said, Your videos bring me peace after a horrendous day at the bedside. Take care of you and thank you for you. Fondly, Dorothy.
I love that plant! My wife is from the Philippines and over there they have a plant growing in the wilds they call “The Shy Plant”, if you touch it the leaves instantaneously droop, it’s quite remarkable to see. Have you seen them? 🏴
Thank you Sean for Sharing your memories and very interesting what you have done with your life. The Welsh choir is fantastic but we are known for the land of song 🎶🎵🎼 . And I have got one of those bedrooms that I have got to sort out 🫣 and not until I have a nice cup of tea ☕🫖😁
"How Can I Keep from Singing" is a well-known American song - I've sung it with a very amateur choir (although not in the US, I'm in Canada), and by coincidence, attended a concert where it was sung by an American choir only last week.
We have wheelie bins and a food waste caddy, the food waste is collected every week and the recycling is once a fortnight the same with general waste that’s collected the week after recycling week they rotate weeks .
I remember the Dr Hessayan books from a garden centre i worked at 30 yrs ago. They were fantastic for newbie veg growers. Never saw this one, though. Looks very useful as an allotment diary. Every January i think ooh, i must keep a diary. But never do! I'll get myself an old copy on ebay .
Good morning Sean You've had quite a varied career and you have moved about quite a lot in your life, good decision to leave it all behind though, you may miss aspects of your past life but you still have your memories. I don't like watching the news either, too much doom and gloom. Ha ha, Shaun the sheep 🐑 i love Wallace and Gromit! still makes me laugh even though ive seen them so many times 😂 pretty plate, you could always use it for candles or under one of your plant pots if you don't display your crystals anymore, Good varied video today, there's lovely for you indeed 😊 Take care Sean 💜
I went to uni at the same time as you. We are on Plan 1. The debt is written off when we are 65, (or if you get disability benefits) You pay 9% of earnings over £24,990 p.a. You'd have to be earning £100k to owe £500 a month!! Tell em where to get off.😮 😮😮
I always love your videos Sean but this one brought a tear to my eye. My dad was a beautiful singer and he would often sing the song they were singing on the station. Forgive me for not knowing its name but I grew up in Australia. I love hearing the Welsh accents in your videos. I'm glad you're feeling better too. My dad sang as well as Harry Secombe 🌷
Hi Sean, I hope you're well. Please have a look at the Martin Lewis article on This Morning from a couple of weeks ago. He talks about student loans, bands, and repayments. Very informative and will (I'm sure) prevent you from worrying about it (if you are). Never offer to replay more each month than you are asked for . I hope you find it helpful Sean.
I agree, £500 a month is very ususual and I suspect this is because it is one of the new companies that takes over the loan repayments and for them it is a short term investment from which they want to recoup from as soon as possible, they essentially wanted Sean to clear in 20 months what others had cleared over 20 years. I also wouldn't be surprised if the debt had been wiped after so long. I would check this. Also the advised repayment amount according to salary, if you earn under £30k, you shouldn't have to pay any more than £50 amonth. The whole point of the student loan repayment was that even if you earned over the threshold the repayment wouldn't effect you. I remember before I cleared mine (over 18 years) one of the new companies that took over the student loan company sent me an 'urgent' letter wanting me to repay the remaining as a lump sum. I received such letters twice.
That video was wonderful. Great to hear about your previous life career wise. The Welsh voices lifted my spirits too. Impromptu singing is such a joy. Love the way you always hasten slowly. Its the way to go. Cheers Sean. ❤🇨🇮
My go-to healthy meal is turnips, onions, and mushrooms sautéed in butter with pepper and salt. Works well in the electric skittle. Put it all in there, mix it up, and cover it to cook down. Yum!
Very interesting video Sean, thank you. What a wonderful thing to own, your fathers book of poems and thoughts. A cherished piece to be sure. Take care🤗

Both of my adult children went to University in England which meant they had to pay their full university fees of £9,000 per term for 4 years. They have both said they regret going to Uni and they could easily have got the jobs that they now have without a degree. Their Uni experience was made worse by the Covid lockdown which mean they had all their classes on line and still had to pay for accomodation they were not using. All in all it has been a bad experience for them.
Sean, I could use your help. I’m almost 70, going to finally lay a 24 mtr. concrete path along the house and round the back, I’ve started today, first thing was to replace bearings in the mixer motor, fixed. Wish me luck, I think the job will drag on as my wife is helping! 😊
I don't know if they do it in Wales but we have an app that tells us when to put out which bin it even sends a reminder the night before, when it works 😅. We also got a calendar through the post around April time. Use to dread it when i was on the post as it was every house. I'm from Rotherham where the rioting was . Thankfully it was miles away from me .
Wow, a First ! Well done you - I'm living proof education got me nowhere ha ha MSc PGCE BA . It's hardly surprising that you're bound to miss that London vibe and life from time to time - likewise myself Take care 🩷
I enjoyed you finding treasures in that box, and managed to discard a few things. It's usually a bit like Christmas for me to go through storage boxes in my box room. I like to rotate possessions so it keeps the house less boring.
Mark the days on your calendar, Sean. We have compost and recycle collection one week and garbage and compost the next week. We have rolling bins but nothing that won't fit in the bin is collected. Holidays always throw me into confusion because then it is one or two days later.
We in Upstate NY Have to wait until 4pm Sunday to put out the trash/recyclables and the bins have to be put away by 4 pm Monday. otherwise you can be fined. Our pickups wake me at 5:30-6:30 am every Monday.
We used to have a somewhat less complicated scheduled - a certain day a week it was collected; that varied by zone. Every week regular waste, every second week recyclables (of some types, others you have to take to a depot), and every so often in the summer, yard waste/bulk waste. You weren't supposed to put anything out the day before because seagulls and cats would tear the bags apart - later you needed to use seagull nets over it, and even later they switched to those big bins. I'm glad I moved before they were required in my neighbourhood, where most of the houses had nowhere to put them unless you dragged them upstairs, through your house and into any back yard you had. But the city council published colour coded calendars. Still do, and you can look them up online too. Now I live in an apartment building, and someone else moves my garbage and recycling from the garbage room to the proper outside spot on the right day. I can't say my education benefited my career, exactly. I've had jobs that required the education I got, but lots of others that didn't. I do like learning things, and don't regret the time and money I put into it. I started paying it back ASAP (aside from a 3-year period when I could delay it because of the work I was doing). At first, of course, I didn't have much income, but we didn't have a program that put off payment if you didn't earn much, and I certainly never heard of them not accepting payments!! You could negotiate the amounts a bit. Then I got a job with a better salary, and starting throwing every leftover penny into the loan. It felt so good when it was all paid off!
I get my garbage picked up every Friday. We put it out every Thursday night. They get to my house Friday between 09:00-09:30 am on time……omg 10, 00 pounds yikes.. I went through 5 years of nursing school getting a Masters's degree. I think my parents paid over $87, 000 dollars. I was lucky my parents had the money to pay for our kids college, I enjoyed this video it was very interesting. Thank you so much .
Our garbage collection here is supposedly negotiated by the city. You can either pay $25/month for a bin or buy stickers for bags. Recycling is free. I use construction grade bags and stickers and bought a second recycling bin. And I recycle almost everything. Complete arrogance by the garbage company though - they’re so bad that you call for issues and they have Tycoon Trivia on their hold music. Just what I want to listen to on hold - facts about super rich people.
I lived in Whalley Range in the 80's. It was nice then. Ioke frozen Salmon. I cut up a few potatoes, onion, salt and pepper. I boil them when they are almost done I put the frozen salmon in with them and a pat of butter. Finish poaching them put the lid on the pan and finish them up.
Our cookers are the same. So slow to heat up and then takes ages to cool. I turn it off before I finish as it retains the heat. No gas here in north Powys.
Hi Sean Could you please tell me where you got your bookcase from, the one with Rusty is sitting on, and is it self assembly or does it come assembled?
I download our refuse collection chart every year from the Gwynedd council website at the end of December . We have wheelie bins though..still collected every three weeks!
They didn’t ask for any payment for 20 years? In the states you are paying very quickly, of course depending on your income. The problem for many young people comes when they have a useless degree and cannot get employment and make enough money to pay anything back. Kids are more astute now about the investment and the outcome.
Hi Sean, thank you for another great video! You did make me laugh when you cat was in the Breadmaker box - yes that is so cat like. Meg does that a lot too! Also you made me laugh when you were holding up your microwavable sheep thingy the expression on your face was priceless! 😅 What a pain that your student loan has been called in, these things always tend to happen at the worst time! I always find it interesting hearing about your TV past and seeing your memorabilia too! Yes I do remember Miffy that takes me back! Showing my age now Sean! 😅 Anyway take care until next time. 🙂
Your clock gave you away, not 5 minutes to cook an omelette but 20 minutes 😮. No sizzle from your pan when you put it into water, maybe you turned your stove off too soon?😅
hi sean/....re your student loan/im not sure how old you are/but i went to uni/and finished in 1994/i have never earned more than/i think it is 26,000....so never had to make any payments to paying off my student loan/...which was quite small/maybe £5000/ a lot at that time/anyways on my 50th birthday i recieved a letter from the students loan company tellin me that as i had reached 50 /my student loan had been written off in full/i think this is still the case/but it might be worth looking into /i had never heard of it/so it was a massive relief /i love your channel/ my dad died at 6 am this morning....so i was hoping you had done a viveo as i find it so calming and grounding/thanks/have a sweet day

There was a song by Enya called How Can I Keep From Singing. Very apt during these current times.Great how it can happen so spontaneously .
"How Can I Keep from Singing" is a well-known American song - I've sung it with a very amateur choir (although not in the US, I'm in Canada), and by coincidence, attended a concert where it was sung by an American choir only last week.
The singing was wonderful ❤
We have wheelie bins and a food waste caddy, the food waste is collected every week and the recycling is once a fortnight the same with general waste that’s collected the week after recycling week they rotate weeks .
I remember the Dr Hessayan books from a garden centre i worked at 30 yrs ago. They were fantastic for newbie veg growers. Never saw this one, though. Looks very useful as an allotment diary. Every January i think ooh, i must keep a diary. But never do! I'll get myself an old copy on ebay .
I met him a few times and was shocked to find out that he actually doesn’t like gardening.
@seanjamescameron whaaaat? Well that's blown my mind!
The singing at the station and on the train put a big smile on my face. Love it.
Good morning Sean
You've had quite a varied career and you have moved about quite a lot in your life, good decision to leave it all behind though, you may miss aspects of your past life but you still have your memories.
I don't like watching the news either, too much doom and gloom.
Ha ha, Shaun the sheep 🐑 i love Wallace and Gromit!
still makes me laugh even though ive seen them so many times 😂 pretty plate, you could always use it for candles or under one of your plant pots if you don't display your crystals anymore,
Good varied video today, there's lovely for you indeed 😊
Take care Sean 💜
In Scotland if you have not earned enough for 20 yrs they cancel the loan find out before agreeing to pay
Definitely worth looking into as 2002 is 22 years ago.
That's what i was thinking, i never had to pay anything back.
Check into it Sean!!!
Eddy Grant had a hit about the Brixton Riots. 'Electric Avenue.' Xxxxxxx
Love your channel always very interesting l
Love phoenix nights got the dvd collection
Yum!
I was shouting those eggs are done about 5 minutes before you finished cooking 😂!!
Hi Sean, always enjoy listening to your memories 😊
Very interesting video Sean, thank you. What a wonderful thing to own, your fathers book of poems and thoughts. A cherished piece to be sure. Take care🤗
That was interesting you found your cauldron, im still looking for mine , probably already packed it alo g with crystals a d much more lol , loveing the music you suggested thankyou ❤❤
Hi Sean, the part with the sheep made me laugh. Your face, his/her face was a picture. Thanks xx
Lovely hearing the Wesh singing. Nice to see folk harmonious after all the division around the country. The riots were Aug 2011.
That's a very strange arrangement these UK university systems have to get back to you 20 years later.
Love the singing ❤
Sean, I could use your help. I’m almost 70, going to finally lay a 24 mtr. concrete path along the house and round the back, I’ve started today, first thing was to replace bearings in the mixer motor, fixed. Wish me luck, I think the job will drag on as my wife is helping! 😊
Plenty of tea and sandwiches will get you through. All the best.
Ooo i love thelook of that dvd xx
I don't know if they do it in Wales but we have an app that tells us when to put out which bin it even sends a reminder the night before, when it works 😅. We also got a calendar through the post around April time. Use to dread it when i was on the post as it was every house. I'm from Rotherham where the rioting was . Thankfully it was miles away from me .
Beautiful singing on the platform and train 😊
Lovely vid Sean .
Lovely uplifting video! ❤
Wow, a First ! Well done you - I'm living proof education got me nowhere ha ha MSc PGCE BA .
It's hardly surprising that you're bound to miss that London vibe and life from time to time - likewise myself
Take care 🩷
I enjoyed you finding treasures in that box, and managed to discard a few things. It's usually a bit like Christmas for me to go through storage boxes in my box room. I like to rotate possessions so it keeps the house less boring.
You must be near the cut off date for the loan to be cancelled
Really enjoy your postings, but I've never seen mushrooms take so long to cook 😂
That’s the art of slow living 🤣
It felt so good when it was all paid off!
enjoyable video sean
What a lovely video. The singing and the usual chat. Gosh I want eggs and mushrooms for breakfast.
I'm our local BINfluencer, when I peg out no-one will have a clue which bin to put out. Panic😊
I love your black cats with amber eyes❤
Love your videos 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I get my garbage picked up every Friday. We put it out every Thursday night. They get to my house Friday between 09:00-09:30 am on time……omg 10, 00 pounds yikes.. I went through 5 years of nursing school getting a Masters's degree. I think my parents paid over $87, 000 dollars. I was lucky my parents had the money to pay for our kids college, I enjoyed this video it was very interesting. Thank you so much .
It may be that I'm a sailor myself, but I love the old sailing journals (especially from the war).
My husband's mother from Ponty Berrum, then livid her adult life in Gloucester, when eventually suffered from Alzheimer's, would only speak in welsh.
Many people refer to the Calathea family as Prayer Plants because of the way the leaves turn upward at night.
You should look Into investing Into an induction hob, they are the most economical hobs to use, whereas yours is most expensive 😊
Our cookers are the same. So slow to heat up and then takes ages to cool. I turn it off before I finish as it retains the heat. No gas here in north Powys.
Hi Sean
Could you please tell me where you got your bookcase from, the one with Rusty is sitting on, and is it self assembly or does it come assembled?
amzn.to/3AdGyKY
I download our refuse collection chart every year from the Gwynedd council website at the end of December . We have wheelie bins though..still collected every three weeks!
They didn’t ask for any payment for 20 years? In the states you are paying very quickly, of course depending on your income. The problem for many young people comes when they have a useless degree and cannot get employment and make enough money to pay anything back. Kids are more astute now about the investment and the outcome.
I thought the Biden- Harris Administration has approved $146 billion in student debt relief?🤔
Nice one Sean 🩷
Hi Sean, thank you for another great video! You did make me laugh when you cat was in the Breadmaker box - yes that is so cat like. Meg does that a lot too!
Also you made me laugh when you were holding up your microwavable sheep thingy the expression on your face was priceless! 😅
What a pain that your student loan has been called in, these things always tend to happen at the worst time!
I always find it interesting hearing about your TV past and seeing your memorabilia too! Yes I do remember Miffy that takes me back! Showing my age now Sean! 😅
Anyway take care until next time. 🙂
Your clock gave you away, not 5 minutes to cook an omelette but 20 minutes 😮. No sizzle from your pan when you put it into water, maybe you turned your stove off too soon?😅
If they did collection third Monday of the month it would only be once a month collection instead of every three weeks.
hi sean/....re your student loan/im not sure how old you are/but i went to uni/and finished in 1994/i have never earned more than/i think it is 26,000....so never had to make any payments to paying off my student loan/...which was quite small/maybe £5000/ a lot at that time/anyways on my 50th birthday i recieved a letter from the students loan company tellin me that as i had reached 50 /my student loan had been written off in full/i think this is still the case/but it might be worth looking into /i had never heard of it/so it was a massive relief /i love your channel/ my dad died at 6 am this morning....so i was hoping you had done a viveo as i find it so calming and grounding/thanks/have a sweet day
Sorry to hear about your father. Take care ❤
@@GmaCynD thank you
Thank you i enjoyed 👍👍😊🏴
Impressive that so many know Calon Lan - but it is Wales after all and to be expected.
Yep, probably for the best you didn't work for the BBC. I did a stint working for the Beeb in Maida Vale and absolutely hated it. It was such a weird atmosphere. Oh well, live and learn.
Fascinating insight into your work history Sean, very interesting, my father was a Cinematographer in the 60s and 70’s in Australia, hard business and many years he had to freelance. Not easy , thanks for sharing. The world is changing fast… I thankfully live in the country and have a pretty good community around, saviour really
