Not sure about other bands....but for Tool, the music is 100% written out
You're only getting half the song with one headphone. Listen to it in stereo. Whole different experience.
Someone else mentioned this, I’ll have to listen again
@@iamzacreact9128 Bruh… _I can’t believe you’ve done this!_ How many reactions did you do with one headphone? 😳
so to clear things up, that solo you heard before the bridge is actually the bass!!! Tool is generally a more bass focused band but there's a lot of balance in writing between members. Also their sound is hugely influenced by bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, but all of that made heavier. thanks for checking out my favorite band :)
That’s awesome! Thanks for the insight
welcome to Tool Army....I am sure you will find gems for yourself..... Tool is awesome
This song sounds very different from the others you've heard because the other 2 were very old. At the beginning of their career, TOOL were still in their embryonic stage, a long way from the greatness they have achieved since.
Yeah the first two songs you heard were from the 90s. This is from 2006. Hope you do some more Tool!
For sure!! I can do that
Subscribed for more Tool! Spiral out my friend!
Thank! For sure I will
This is Def "newer" than Sober but this is Maynard calling out someone in the hardest manner possible.
Aaay, look at this guy. Lookin like a million bucks. Welcome back, Zac!
It’s been soooo long!!! My favorite name to see in the comments!! Been with me from the jump

if you are using obs, change the recording file format to .mkv. it's much harder to corrupt, and is easier to repair than mp4.
I’m just using screen record on my windows laptop
Most of Maynard's lyrics for Tool are Platonic archetypes. "The Pot" is a double entendre, he uses both meanings and both metaphors to sing about hypocrisy, not some particular hypocrite or a specific hypocrisy. As far as song formulation: Danny, Adam, and Justin will fight about who does what and when. Maynard prefers to have an idea of the lyrics before the track is finished but he only writes them when the other three band members are done laying down the demo.
My understanding is it's (loosely) about politicians that don't want to legalize marijuana but use it in private.
Respect the dedication to an authentic reaction. 👏👏
It’s gotta be real! The is so much music to listen to, no reason to lie!

Yeah the evolution of Tool over literally decades gives a very stark contrast between this song, and something like Undertow. This is kind of a major go-to as a way I would introduce someone to Tool. It clearly demonstrates their sound, while still not being as challenging for the listener as songs like Pneuma, Schism, or Lateralus. Depending on how adventurous you are feeling, I would definitely recommend checking those three out. They all contributed to expanding my musical consciousness greatly.
Awesome I’ll check those out
Regarding guitar solos the answer is: it depends. And it mostly depends on the genre. In genres such as rock and metal they are written and performed practically always the same or maybe some pieces are added in concerts. In other genres, such as jazz instead, they are improvised on the spot. The musician limits himself to following a basic structure on which he can vary and so the solo is different every time. Luckily, however, TOOL has very few solos. Luckily because I hate solos, especially if, as you say, they seem like a separate part from the rest of the song and interrupt it in the middle.
Interesting thank you! You are the first to say you’re not a fan of solos
I can't tell if you're wearing both headphones. If not, please note that you are practically missing half the song because there are not the same instruments on both sides.
Damn, no I wasn’t wearing both

1:31 So far, so good. Good energy. Youre in for a ride 👀
Regarding Sober and Intolerance I would circle back to them and react to them preforming them live. There is a ton of old footage of them playing Sober since it’s one of their more popular songs. Intolerance is less common to come across unless you check out one of their shows from the early 90s around 1993. I have watched a ton of Tools live material and I only recall one video were they played Intolerance live during a show.
For sure! I’ll have to do that
just posted Intolerance live
Grammy winning track!
As a rule, guitar solos that you hear are going to be written. However, when the band performs the song in front of a live audience for long enough, the guitar solo is one of the things like is likely to be different. Maybe they improvise some of it live, or maybe the guitarist has just slowly made changes over time.
100%
Welcome back bro
It’s definitely been awhile!!!
Hey my man I subbed. Dude if you want to get into rock these ain't the guys. Tool is something different. The genre Tool fits in is,well Tool. Look into slayer or megadeth, Metallica or a host of others. This band will change your life. This band has fans from 93 who still get different meanings and feelings from their music. This band is the modern day Beatles!
I have heard a few bands up until now, so adding tool is helping me expand
So much to say about Tool but trust us, they are different. They're categoried as heavy metal but they are so much more musically, lyrically, spiritually, and anthropologically than any rock (heavy metal or otherwise) band ever. There are 2 schools of thought on The Pot's meaning. I think they're both correct because Tool is never anything but multi-faceted. #1: He's calling out judges and law enforcement for hypocritical drug laws and their enforcement. #2: He's calling out Led Zeppelin founding member Jimmy Paige who supposedly said Tool ripped off LZ's style. Led Zeppelin famous repackaged the blues and never gave credit to anyone, including Muddy Waters. Get it? Now you should go back (with both earbuds) and discover the layers of woven sound they put togther for us. It's a special tune.
Oh wow!!! That is a really interesting piece of information. This is why I wanna look more into these things. I want to start doing live streams where I talk to music lovers and research about bands and members. Talk about there history while talking to people live as I learn
hes alive!
Feels good to be back!
In this song, the guitar solo is actually a bass guitar solo.
Is that common?
@@iamzacreact9128 No

Weeping shades of indigo
I think it’s “shed without a reason”. I’ve seen it listed both ways.
@@alpo6668 I copied from reaction video. so....
@@stevenj2915 it’s posted both ways as I noted. “Shed” makes more sense though.
Is that one ear bud ?
Yeah, I know!! 😭😭 mistakes were made
IMHO guitar solos in the 80's were a lot more sloppy, now they are more written; nice observation.
bob your head real slow tool wil find you
