Founding fathers on immigration: George Washington felt that immigration should be limited to “useful mechanics and some particular descriptions of men or professions.” The founding fathers believed we should choose immigrants by race, class, and profession. They wanted only the best people to come to America. This migrant caravan is definitely not the best and the founding fathers would never allow it. The founding fathers wanted Europeans only and preferred that they be of English heritage and Christian. America was founded by Anglo Saxon culture, English common law, and Christian principals. If we want America to be truly great again then we need to restore our founding fathers beliefs. Currently 85% of immigrants are non Europeans. We need to make America great again and the only way that can be achieved is if we let ONLY the best people in. Bring back the original constitution and KEEP AMERICA GREAT🇺🇸🦅

I lived all four years in the dorms, I too studied Shakespeare and comparative literature as well as history and political science and there was absolutely none of this victimhood, oppressor, gender garbage. Students today have been given trophies for accomplishing nothing since the time they were born and as a result have very weak characters and thus open to this feeble mindedness. An example I saw the other day on the TV show the Bachelor where all these young big strong men physically in great shape, but mentally they are like little girls, crying and wimpering over absolutely nothing. I started laughing, it was so pathetic.

That was the entire subject of discussion for the entire class. Just imagine if there was a "Men's Studies" class and they dared to do the same thing aimed at women. It would be on the TV news, the class would be denounced and picketed, the professor would be immediately fired, the class would be abolished and heads would roll. Western universities are modern day Maoist re-education (victimology) camps. Students are indoctrinated to reject traditions, logic, history, economics, science, and accept radical ideology that has been a deadly failure for a century. Apparently, they seem to believe, capitalism is more deadly.
This is why academia and social media endorses censorship. The more power they receive, the worse the penalties for violating the new radical ideology.
Those unaware of history, please study up 1966 China, where Mao created the re-education camps, the Red Guard, and the Leap Forward.
100m+ died because of these radical ideas, as with the USSR, Pol Pot, among others by the radical revolutionaries.
Those ignorant of history are destined to repeat it. Yet, the West is willingly repeating it.

"I hate white people," was said without hesitation and consequence, by a "teacher" to her students in a Boston Public High School. Principal says repeatedly, "It's our time now." New Normal. 100% agree - no more money to schools because it never comes to the classrooms. I support charter schools mainly because it cuts out the over-sized administration (which includes large legal departments filled with lawyers who earn 2x than teachers...). I like how you think because it speaks to what many teachers in Boston experienced as they were targeted ("older white women" who according to the principal only worked in Boston "because they could not get jobs in the suburbs" - even though they had advanced degrees, spoke multiple languages, presented at conferences....) and bullied until they became so ill their doctors put them on medical leave.

When I was in college (less than 5 years ago), I was subjected to the following by two teachers. It took place at Virginia Commonwealth University:
    1. In a Globalization elective class, I had a Muslim professor straight over from the middle east who decided to not really teach about globalization and it's effects on the rest of the world, but to instead teach everyone about Islam and how peaceful it was. He said it was not true that drawing pictures of figures was not allowed in Islam. He said many untrue things. I reported him, but I doubt it did anything as VCU has a sister college in Qatar and constantly brings over Muslims from the middle east to do their education at VCU instead. Plus, there is no rule that governs what professors teach in class. That obviously needs to change.
    2. In a required Sociology class, I had a biracial (half black, half white) teacher, who clearly identified only with the black side of herself. Not only did she teach the entire class that the definition of racism was the unaccepted "privilege + power" definition that implies that it's not possible for you to be racist unless you're white, she would show the class videos of black men getting arrested by white cops, some of which were clearly racist against the blacks, but in others there was no evidence of racism. In those cases, I suppose all she needed to assume that racism had occurred was that the criminal was black and the cop was white.
Shame on these professors! Their PhDs definitely did not make them smarter.
So indoctrination of these bullsh&t, illogical, and irrational ideologies definitely does occur on campuses.

Whomagoose, you can also get an academic education at the community college level, not only trades and specific job skills. I don't see the indoctrination and leftist revisionism at the few with which I am familiar. I highly recommend that 17 and 18 year-olds investigate a few of these, choose one for two years, and gain a little maturity and education while deciding if and where to transfer to a 4-year school for a bachelor degree. Many, perhaps most, community colleges will also save you many thousands of dollars in those two years. This will give you a big initial advantage in many ways, not the least of which is freeing you from the mindset that voting for one of these "eliminate all student debt" politicians is a desirable thing.

I did every trick in the book and these kids were either sitting closer to ANOTHER troublemaking friend or some e they had a gripe with. I got blamed despite sending kids out CONSTANTLY, no aides in the class, and I got the blame despite my other classes either being great or okay. The fact that these kids are being taught that they can get away with this carries over into college where they get indoctrination on how to be basically what was said in the video... also, these schools are run by Liberals who go around flaunting that they are Democrats, you call yourself a Trump supporter and you are on a hit list. The first time around I received a lengthy introduction to the irony of academics who proclaimed themselves to be the most tolerant, open-minded individuals on the planet - who would also flunk you, kick you out of their class, or even threaten you for having the audacity to disagree with their left-wing politics.
Thing is, though, I really didn't experience that same sort of political posturing in the late 90s in computer science. Frankly most of us were way too busy trying to complete programming assignments and get through advanced calculus to begin to have time to take part in the latest ridiculous cause of the day. And frankly most students who did take part in every ridiculous cause were way too lazy to take on anything as labor intensive as computer science or engineering.
So have things really changed that much in the past 20 years? Do the computer science and engineering students of today really have the time and interest to spend all day whining about political causes?

I know it’s 2 years after the fact, but I’ve been on this kick espousing the very thing you’re speaking of. If parents don’t fill the minds of our own children with reasoned points of view, then someone else will. The fact of the matter is that it is very attractive to contend that some amorphous system is preventing the advancement of communities as opposed to the complex multi variant analysis of an issue. If I’ve heard it once I’ve heard it a thousand times, we must teach children critical thinking skills. Two things: we most assuredly are not teaching children to think critically when complex analysis are reduced down to the cause is “systemic blah blah blah…” Second, someone is teaching our children critical thinking skills, that is critical race thinking skills, which is perhaps the most unscientific analysis I’ve ever experienced. It’s accepted by individuals who want to buy their indulgence instead of doing the hard work of asking themselves what responsibility do they have in their current situation.

I drove on campus- here in Southern Cali. And there seemed to be no communication- togetherness, each standing alone with their phones. And the hard - loneliness. Definitely must do something- now. I'll be praying.

She brings up something I had never thought of: the left argues about the outrageous costs of college education, it would seem they should direct their ire at their fellow leftists who run the colleges and universities.

Cornell makes students take two "D" courses. The D stands for diversity. Is this now the norm?

What is needed are courses on respect and responsibility and what I would call civic morality (a modified Christian approach that would not offend religious groups). Our constitution is based on civic morality which was inconsistently implemented.

There are so many people stuck in a positive feedback loop. They have been taught to hate which makes them miserable while at the same time not realizing that their negative emotions are an obstacle to a healthy enjoyable life. They blame their misery on the people that they were taught to hate which enforces their hatred for those same people. They repeat the cycle over and over. It is easier for them to continue this behavior rather than admit that they had been duped into believing a lie for a good portion of their lives.

Nah, Trump 2020 all the way. Its about what he stands for. I couldn't care less about the issues. He might be one of the last plausible efforts to help push back the creeping authoritarian bureaucracy, and hordes of dependent welfare seekers.
Anything short of an attack on U.S. soil is just noise. Trust your gut.

What a fool I was in working my way through college which extended my gradation date by 1 1/2 years for the sole purpose of eliminating college debt. I sacrificed a car, fraternity and worked on campus to avoid debt while brainless politicians extent government student loans that will likely not be paid. I have never experienced such stupidly, ignorance or shallowness that society demonstrates daily. My only salvation is my age, 78. As I sink into the pit of the after life, I know I will depart with dignity, grace and self-respect earned by the sweat of my brow, not by the exertion of others.

I read "Pedagogy of the Oppressed" by Freire when I was in college - and I am seeing what he described as the oppressed taking on traits of their oppressor, or in current America, their perceived oppressors.
