- Car Suspension is the system of tires, tire air, springs, shock absorbers and linkages that connects a vehicle to its wheels and allows relative motion between the two. Suspension systems must support both road holding/handling and ride quality, which are at odds with each other. The tuning of suspensions involves finding the right compromise. It is important for the suspension to keep the road wheel in contact with the road surface as much as possible, because all the road or ground forces acting on the vehicle do so through the contact patches of the tires. The suspension also protects the vehicle itself and any cargo or luggage from damage and wear. The design of front and rear suspension of a car may be different.
The suspension system of a car provides a swift ride. There are different types of suspension systems. They are divided into two types as DEPENDENT SUSPENSION and INDEPENDENT SUSPENSION. Based on their designs suspensions range from LEAF-SPRING, MAC PHERSON STRUT, SOLID AXLE BEAM, PUSHROD SUSPENSION and DOUBLE WISHBONE SUSPENSION. The mechanism of these suspension system is shown in this video. A suspension system of a car is linked with the steering and drive shaft. Do watch the video if you don't know how.

0:52 I don't think that's what defines a pushrod suspension... In can be described as something like a double wishbone where the dampener is replaced by an arm that is pushed (pushrod) into a rocker arm that transfers the movement like a lever allowing for the dampener to be placed in the center of the vehicle, giving benefits like aerodynamics (slimmer profile) or thoughness (dampeners are protected inside the chassis), the downsides are more moving parts and complex design making it more expensive and better suited for specialised use cases (like in formula one).

Really weird how this is the second video on this channel I've watched and in both they sort of go "Nah, let's not explain what a wish bone suspension is, instead let's talk about the superstitious origins. That's more fun".
What is lacking with Mechanical Engineers today, is the knowledge of how to design mechanisms correctly. Did know that there's a mathematical formula that can be used for all mechanism designs?
