Once I wrote Loretta Lynn and drew a picture of a welcome sign it said welcome to Fist City population one black eye. She sent me a note on a postcard and said she loved the letter and picture. Loretta Lynn just passed away this morning.
Hey buddy , great reaction ! Loretta never minced words , quite a woman. Garth Brooks told the story of being asked to bring Loretta to an awards show , he asked her "limo or my pickup truck " she said pickup !! He says she climbed in and slid over in the middle , to this day he says one of his proudest moments.
@@franknovack8925 She had 9 songs banned from the radio. People would buy them, causing them to boom in sales, and the radio stations would eventually start playing them. She is 89, still working after 60 years, has no plans to stop and still doesn't understand the controversy...because she writes what she feels, and most of it is from her life.
Listening to this just for the laughs, but totally sad to hear that she passed on, hopefully she’s playing a concert for my Nana who idolized her up in heaven!!!
I've got one for you. Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton and Tammy Wynette singing the Kitty Wells classic "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels". The harmony alone will melt your heart!
Ahh, Loretta. A song inspired by her husbands Dewey's running around. I grew up close to were she is from. Thanks for posting, Captain. Many memories from listening to her. Love y'all. Stay safe~stay kind~stay humble.
great reaction and one of my favorite Loretta's songs. It seems hat no matter what the lyrics are she remains a lady. Her smile is what does it I guess
I love Loretta and her songs. I also think her husband inspired a lot of them. I met a local gal here in NC whose language could make a sailor blush. If I ever need help of any kind, I'm gonna call her. Loretta shook things up with her song, "The Pill." Great review, Don.
Okay... I watched your fun reaction video again and I have to say that if you pause it @ 1:44, your contrasting facial expressions are gut busting. "Oh, shit!" I'm dying over here.
Always love your reactions glad you finally did the song one I been suggesting for along time . I was very shy as a kid loved those feisty songs though I think it was cause I was so shy You Ain't woman enough and fist city were two of my favs . Lorretta loved her husband and stood by him . He was always drink though and much more gave here the idea for many songs though . You should try "your squaws on the war path tonight and do not come home a drinking with loving on your mind."
If you blink more than twice you better have something in your eye . You ain’t woman enough to take my man story is that a lady came to Loretta in the dressing room and took Loretta and showed her this woman and said she is trying to take my man and Loretta made that song up on the spot and went out on stage and sung it looking right at that woman
The song is so simple that it's almost sublime. I enjoyed your amused and somewhat caught off guard reaction to it! And that smile of hers is just too much! And I agree very much with your 9.5 rating. I mean what else are you going to give it?!?! Loretta is too cute for words. Just precious.
The school bus driver told her twins their daddy was in love with her and he was leaving their mother. And she was still mad 40 years later when she told the story.
This song reminds of a story from about 30 years ago. My husband and I went out one evening with another couple just to relax, dance have a little fun. The guys went to play pool. My husband waz a good pool player and a nice looking man. I heard this woman tell her friends that she was going home with my husband! My girlfriend was trying to keep me calm but I was pissed!! I went over to the juke box found this song played it walked over to my husband gave him a big hug and a kiss then turned and gave her a go to he'll stare. We didn't have anymore problem after that! My husband never realized what was going on!
If I remember the story behind this song correctly, her kids came home from school upset. Their bus driver said their daddy was leaving to be with her. Loretta responded with this song. Most her great songs were her way of getting back at her husband.
That was you ain’t woman enough. This one was in response to a bar that she was playing at. A woman told her she could take her man and the story says Loretta got off stage punched her and then continued the show. She wrote Fist city. It should be in her movie.
@@LadyVenVen Loretta explains this in the “Loretta Lynn Roseanne interview 1998” on you tube. Go to 10:15 of that clip and all will become clear. Hope this helps.
She is going to shock you in almost every song I feel sorry for any man that she deal with Loretta seem to have had a gut full with all of them. She is not mincing her words. Good. Luck to her. Love her songs.
My wife says " wrong attitude, uh ahhh.......kick him to the curb"...... I said " yes I already know your policy. I didn't write the song. Write your own damn song."...
Like your wifes attitude . I think Loretta put up with way to much although she came up with great songs cause of that . Hearing some of her songs you would think he would have been kicked to the curb . Who knows maybe he did get kicked out a couple of times . After a song called "your squaws on the warpath tonight ." You would have thought that happened .She at least was up in his face.
Lorretta Lynn was my Dad's favorite singer. Mostly because they had somewhat simuler backgrounds. She was from South East Kentucky, and so was my Dad. Although different counties. Loretta's Dad was a coal miner and so was Grandpa on Dads side. For a short while Dad drove a Dozer in what he called the strip mines. Dad used to mention the D9 dozer if memory serves.
Loretta Lynn is the queen of country music I know the song I like for you to listen to it was been on several radio stations and in fact to this day astilbe and believe it or not on some stations the song is called a rated x
something very different from Loretta Lynn, but check out The Night by Morgan wade. discovered it yesterday and can't stop listening to it! keep it up, and greetings from Belgium!
You were right Loretta Lynn by her own experience not deep is in your face love love Loretta you should try the pill or rated x believe it or not they didn't want to play that song because it was too controversial for Loretta Lynn she wrote it and sang it enjoy
Omg, that's good! Now you need to do ( after the fire is gone) by Conway and loretta. Loretta's tone is perfect in this song. I'm pretty sure you will give a fantastic rating, maybe a 10
Since we're nearing Christmas, I heard Loretta singing this song on the radio that I hadn't heard in years. Please do a reaction to this one. Loretta Lynn, To Heck With Santa Claus .. it is another funny one (in a way). As always, she's got a fighting spirit in her in this song. Don't choke or die on this one, lol. ruclips.net/video/oHLRpCBqtSU/видео.html
it is a complex song in a way... because there's a lot of hidden meaning: The song was targeted at a woman who drove the school bus in the town that Loretta owned. (detour round my town) The woman was entitled to school dinners because she drove the school bus .(if you dont wanna eat a meal thats called fist city) and the bit about "use your feet" is telling her to use the pedals on the bus she drove.
Apparently the song was inspired when the school bus driver made the mistake of telling Loretta's kids their dad was going to divorce their mom to marry her. She forgot Loretta by this time owned most of the town. Didn't go very well for the woman and Loretta got a hit song.
Don, in honor of Loretta's passing could you please do a reaction to this song, called 'I Miss being Mrs. Tonight'. I guess she is finally being Mrs again now that she's back with Doo, her late children who have passed on, her parents and family and friends. May she RIP as she left us a wonderful gift. Her voice and her songs. ruclips.net/video/hU9XL5aDvRI/видео.html
Tammy: "Stand by your man."
Dolly: "Please don't take my man."
Loretta: "Go ahead, see what happens."

One of the few women who can say "I am going to kick your a$$", with the sweetest smile!
Loretta is the best. Sure do 💕💕💕 and miss her every day.
The way she sings this song with that smile let's you know she ain't playing around! This is my fave is hers! RIP QUEEN 👑
No double talk with Lorretta! She just came at you with both barrels blazing and said exactly what she meant! Loved her!
My favorite song of hers!

Dolly was begging them not to take her man, Loretta was daring them to try 😂

Another great Kentucky legend. I'm sure this atleast partially true
Loretta is the Queen. She was punk before it was cool.
He needs to play Love Is The Foundation! The Queen!
Loretta is indeed the Queen of Country Music. Keep it coming.
Thanks for doing this one Loved your reaction !!! Take care
Great reaction!... made me laugh and my day ...... gotta love Loretta
Love loretta
The Pill was actually banned on radio since it was about birth control.
I absolutely love your reaction!! That's exactly how I felt the first time. But, I did play this song at the local bar to get my point across. 🤣
The school bus driver told her twins their daddy was in love with her and he was leaving their mother. And she was still mad 40 years later when she told the story.
Hey she has a town in TN called Hurricane Mills.

Thats for sure LOL I can picture her in husbands face quite often with the songs she wrote . Literally stood up to many people male or female.
there is a version where she sings "and that he won't cat around with a kitty". that's the best version.
I guess network censors didn't like cat around with a kitty.

Love it!
React to Loretta Lynn your looking at country
A similar song by a newer traditional artist is "Homewrecker Blues" by Heather Myles.
Funny thing is, she is only 5'2" tall!
Yep. Tiny but explosive! Same thing with Brenda "Little Miss Dynamite" Lee...5'1" tall.
