It may be necessary for you to break down and get yourself a small hand held bore scope like I use as a mechanic! I can go down a spark plug hole and see if a piston has a hole it in or the rod is broken or if it dropped a valve! In your case for your fossorial spiders and trap doors you could use it to go down the burrow hole and peek on them ! Mine was about $80 from Amazon and it takes pictures and records video buuuut then I guess you run the risk of disturbing her and her eating the sack I guess but it may be a idea for your mr. Dave! Great video! Hope you had a great Father's day yesterday! Much love from Tennessee U.S.A.

At the end (up from 20:30) you can clearly see, that it must be raised blood pressure which causes the movement of your female. You can see her heart (upper abdomen, right behind the carapace) pounding and the first segment of her front foot is moving in the same rythm.

I'm starting to feel like a spider voyeur. 😂
I do have a couple of spider questions if you have a moment. The first one is, when your C. versicolors were slings, did they like to spend basically all of their time in their webs? Mine recently molted and looks to be about 1" and I don't see it leave the web it has built (except when I sprayed some water in its enclosure and it went to get a drink). Even to eat it won't leave (though I have noticed that the fruit flies I put in there seem to be gone).
The second question is with the T. seladonia slings, do they typically molt in the open? Mine hasn't started building a trapdoor yet, and seems to enjoy spending most of its time just chilling on the side of the sling pot it is currently in. I did see it recently pounce on a fruit fly, so I doubt it's in pre-molt, but it's nice to have an idea of what to look for when it is about to molt. My versicolor molt took me completely by surprise. Aside from not eating, it didn't show any of the pre-molt signs I've read about online. I must have just missed the actual process because when I checked it the morning it molted its legs were still a bright cream color. I am surprised how much size it gained. Makes me excited to see what my G. pulchra will look like when it finally decides to actually molt. As it is, it has just been sitting in its little burrow right up against the clear front of the enclosure for almost three weeks now.

The female got one of her claws stuck to his foot when she pulled back at 11:40 so it started bleeding. Either the wound is small enough to clot (tarantula blood/hemolymph has poor coagulation capabilities) or he'll end up self-amputating that leg, if the bleeding doesn't stop.
