I have had my white TBR7 for 6 months and I love. I put about 200 miles a week on it. When I got mine I changed to 17/43 with stock chain, it's still doing great.
That is exactly how my Hawk 250 was shipped. First thing I noticed was the extremely tight chain and it was already adjusted all the way forward. Very helpful video sir, thank you.
Sadly, I think you’re spot on. Tao Tao makes some really good products for the $, but sometimes, it takes them a few years to work out silly bugs like this that shouldn’t be there in the first place through proper R&D.
I just got a TBR7. The chain was super tight with the 15/46 factory set up. I put a 42 on the rear and left the 15 up front. This should give it a littler more top end. The low end torque is lessened (good and bad). But the stock chain can be used with with a 42 in the rear.
Factory the chains come way too tight. On my bike I was is able to loosen and readjust the stock chain. Your motor sounds healthier than mine I think I may need to adjust the valves next...
Did you put an O-ring chain on? Also, you might want to grease the axles, swing arm and shock bolts, bushings, and bearings. A high wear point on these bikes.
@@taylorhoovertilton2428 It's 428H chain, That covers the width and size. I got the cheapest parts unlimited brand 134 links because it's what they had local and just shorten it to your needs.

Great videos! My white 2021 TBR7 came with a 428-pitch chain, 126 links and 15T / 46T sprockets. I'm currently switching to 17T / 42T sprockets.

Getting mine on Monday. I'll see what mine is
ordered mine today and this is something to check.....that and every other bolt.... LOL
Hey man. Was looking into getting a tbr7 myself. Will be following your series. Also small world, I'm in the same state if razees is local to you.
Ultimate Airgun Oh cool. The only disappointing thing about the Tbr7 so far is it's so heavy compared to a Yamaha or Honda 250cc.
@@joshcb7 interesting. I honestly expected it to be lighter.
The chain will loosen up after first ride

Great video!
Great info! How many teeth are the stock sprockets?
My 2020 Tbr7 has a 15t front sprocket and 46t rear.

GetNGhost No It's not an o ring chain. OK thanks.
Great vid very helpful
You used a 134 chain but what was the brand? I want to order one for my tbr7 that showed up yesterday with the same exact problem.
Also is there a size for how wide your chain is or just a 134 chain minus 6 links and an added master?

Just got my bike today and the chain is way to tight
My chain is to long lol
