    My friend let his boat motor sit with dirty gas in it for two seasons. I took the carb off and cleaned it up and of course unstopped the main jet. I took it back to his garage and bet him a fishing trip the motor would start and idle after two pulls...he said no way, he lost! He jumped up and down like a kid that has won a new bike! Great Channel Subbed and T.Y.! :)

    Appreciate for your informative video.. I've got a piaggio ciao 2stroke moped. today Ignorantly i filled the oil too to my fuel tank.. while back had running problem. Little that i knew it was the rich mixture+ some dirt in my carb.. i removed the carb and cleaned, but had the same issue.. worked only when chock is on.. so after watching this video I've poured fuel to my tank and filled up the carb with pure gasoline.. then it start working. Thank you so much.

    I don’t prefer that chem dip, like to use MEK (as long as there is NO plastics or O’rings in the carb!! And only straight aluminum) as far as idle jets go?? And jets in general???Never give up on a jet unless its pitted and corroded.. I’ve cleaned many a jet with carb cleaner and a sewing needle.. those needles (depending) will go right through those little holes, prod it, spray it, prod it spray it.. most of them will be as good as new doing that..

    small suggestion for you guys. i know you're using non-chlorinated cleaner there, but imo for the safety of viewers you should only use carb cleaner with gloves to give a good example. chlorinated version, the cheapest and as good if not better at cleaning than non-chlorinated contain very harmful chemicals that can seep through skin like Trichloroethylene (TCE) which cause kidney cancer and other bad shit. I only realized this after years of use as I'm not a professional and never thought it could be that dangerous so it could be useful for a lot of viewers imo.

JD jet kit, trying all settings, dismantling the whole thing and putting it back together. Yesterday I rode with the choke on and it was way better. As soon as I turn choke off, the bike bogs out and dies.

    Great informative video. I am wondering why a brand new Honda Navi w/ only 22 miles on it would not run with the choke off.
    I was told to run the bike with the choke on. the mechanic showed me when I picked it up, when they tried to turn the choke off while idling, it wanted to shut off and it was plenty warmed up too. So they just told me to ride it with the choke on but I know from operating my snowblower that when you operate anything with the choke on, it like floods the carbs and spark plugs.
    I’m definitely familiar with the old fuel because I’ve learned the lesson the hard way twice with my snowblower.
    FYI I am using a gasoline without ethanol as that was recommended in the navi community however the manual says to just use regular unleaded

      Did you ever find out what this was? Having a similar issue

    • @lostintheclouds8719
      @lostintheclouds8719 11 месяцев назад

      @@Joeyyy28 it took me a bit to wrap my head around this, but i found out that you’re spose to ride the navi w/ the lever pushed up all the way to the top. Apparently you’re spose to be able to start it with the lever pulled all the way down towards that arrow, let it warm up, then push the lever towards the top. My first ride with it, i did that. But then my 2nd ride, i did the opposite - i started it w/ lever at top, then ran it w/ lever at bottom. I remember i stalled and came to a dead stop on the road when i ran it this way. So i ended up putting the lever a quarter of the way down.
      I later learned i was completely running it wrong. Since then, I have installed a s23 variator clutch kit. This thing is so powerful, it starts up no problem, and i can run it with lever up or down BUT i was told the proper correct way is to run it w/ the lever up… so that’s what I’ve been doing and i haven’t had anymore issues.
      I can totally vouch for the s23 var/clutch kit that these things are completely necessary if you want to reach speed faster. These things totally give it more power, faster acceleration. Prior to install mine topped out at 55 on flats, with install, it’s hitting 60s on flats. My mech told me he got it up to 62 on a test ride.
      Hope your issue gets sorted out

      Not true.. That's the reason for a fuel filter.

    • @californiadreaming9216
      @californiadreaming9216 Месяц назад

      @@nameyourchannel7844 fuel filters will NOT prevent the entry of all contaminants into carburetors or injectors. Nor will they prevent the entry of water into a fuel system (with the exception of fuel/water separator filters on big trucks). And even if fuel filters DID, a fuel tank must be kept free of impurities in order to prevent blockage of a fuel filter causing an engine to fuel starve and shut off, typically in a very undesirable location. A difficulty compounded by the fact that multiport fuel injection engines then require air to be bled out of the fuel feed line, especially between fuel pump and fuel rail.
      ALL persons who are mechanically competent are aware of these facts.

    Hey guys my name is Brian I'm from South Philadelphia I am the proud owner of a 2004 Yamaha YZF R6 and I was recently in a pretty nasty crash which involve a Uber driver texting and pulling out of a spot not looking and nailing me thank God I have my home in the ones or I would be a dead man and even with my homie I still had to have surgery on my head because I had internal bleeding crazy right?. Anyway my question to you sir was when the bikes laid it developed a small crack not in the crankcase but in the area around where the clutch cable is and it's leaking oil I put some of the J-B Weld steel stick stuff on it and it's slow. Then leak but didn't stop it and today I have the actual epoxy mix coming in the mail, my question is do you think that the epoxy mix and the JB Steel put on that crack will stop the leak? It's a very very very small crack I had to run it and actually watch it drip in order to find it that's how small it is but I also know that oil pressure when it's running is very high. I've been told by some people that I should look for a new motor which is out of the question it's it's a 2004.. what would your suggestion be in order to stop this leak number one and number two I've been noticing a drop in power when I rev it off the past maybe six or seven in first year and sometimes in second gear I'll give it throttle and it'll just die on me.... What do you think that could be caused by. I know you're a busy man any help you can give me would be much appreciated by this R6 owner
    Thanku! Brian South Philly!

    Hi, im having a problem with my Honda CRF 250R 2007. It starts and runs very well but after some minutes (3-5 min or 250-500m aprox.) it shuts off and the engine dies just like if you cut off the fuel valve. Its exactly like when you forget to open the fuel valve and go riding, it just dies after a few minutes. I think its a carburator related thing, but I know very little about carbs.
    Do you have an idea of what it could be??
    Cheers!

      With the new exhaust your bike will be getting more airflow so you need to richen the mixture and if that doesn’t work you’ll most likely need to upsize the jets

    I have a DR650. Recently, it started this thing where it occasionally dies when I stop. It'll start right up on the first try when this occurs. In trying to figure out what I could have done, I keep going back to when I ran a tank full of high test fuel through it, at someone else's suggestion. Maybe it's a coincidence, maybe it's not. That's why I'm asking for someone to point me in a direction. I'm all ears. 👂

    Great video, what are you using for the dip? I've tried Chem-Dip but it makes the aluminum feel sticky, like the dip is reacting with the aluminum. Very strange, I didn't like the result.
    *Edit: Nm, I see the link to the Yamaha carb dip in your description now.

      bryan plunkett - make sure your fuel and air mixture screws are set correctly - my issue ended up being a vacuum leak because the exhaust didn’t have a tight seal

    • @MOE13576
      @MOE13576 3 года назад

      @@jonathanmiguel4201 it is when a certain amount of air bypasses the carb intake portion (manifold). Like when your carb or exhaust doesn't have an air tight seal( faulty gasket somewhere) or not sitting properly. So extra air gets in the carb making it function improperly( not running right). The carb is no longer like a vacuum that sucks air in just thru the intake tract(manifold)
