Trains-Miniature ALCo FA-1 Gets the Love It's Needed for So Long

With the SDP-40 that I bought on Facebook Marketplace, I also got a pre-flywheel Athearn wannabe that turned out to be a Trains-Miniature of Illinois locomotive. The inside ran okay and the shell was shot. I took care of both.

This may come as a surprise to you but Athearn did contracting work for other model train companies including Lionel, Also, That Train Miniature locomotive was also marketed in the Athearn Blue Box series back in the nineties

It's an old style Atheran locomotive pre flywheel model built and marketed under the ''Train Miniature'' banner.

Train-Miniature went through a lot in its lifetime. Ron/Classic Model Trains gave a brief history of the company in one of his videos.

@@masticshortline I forgot to mention Train-Miniature would be taken over by Walthers the very company who recently bought Life-Like's trains and accessories as well as the Proto 2000 line.

I have the same Tech 3 controller. Like the gauges on it. Nice job on the loco.

Thank you very much, Steve. I saw the Tech 3 in a model railroad shop in CT and had to have it. Got it for a very reasonable price too.

The tech 3 is the best for repair work, you can see if there is an electrical issue on the gauge
