I also am a contralto so it's difficult to find music in a key that's comfortable for me
I am a muslim but even though i know that this song is for the christians, but it wasn't a problem for muslims to hear and love it. Its only up to your inside to stay with your religion. It is not a fault if we love what others love. Keep positive.

i respect all religions, but at the end of the day, there is only one God, and whoever seeks him and have faith in him, will live eternal life in heaven, its the same destination that we all seek.

In the Hebrew Bible, it is a compound word, from hallelu, meaning “to praise joyously,” and yah, a shortened form of the unspoken name of God. So this “hallelujah” is an instruction to the listener to sing tribute to the Lord.
It's a fantastic song that should transcend all religious differences & symbolise whichever God or Deity the listener chooses to follow.

Many of Cohens songs had religious connotations but weren't about religion. That was the case with Hallelujah. By the way, Cohen was not only Jewish by birth and upbringing, he was also a Buddhist.

The tragic tale of Jeff Buckley when he had bravery to release his first album Grace he tragically drowned in the Mississippi River he was 35 I think. It was a tragic death at the time people since he was a newcomer didn't know his songs but now its considered as one of the greatest covers ever so moral of the story have bravery in what you do if you die and it stops there's a chance that some other people will like it.
