@@2L3L My first synth was a Sequential Pro One that I bought used in 1983. Lots of knob tweaking for every sound. These days, I search for a preset that's close enough to what I hear in my head and only tweak it as necessary. 🙂
@@TeddyLeppard I can't really provide those unfortunately, the guitars use a lot of 3rd party plugins and use too much CPU to be actually practical. Mainly those video was just meant to showcase the possibilities and be a sort of exploration!
thank you! there are definitely some better sounding digital guitars (i use roland cloud terra guitar, discontinued so it's free), but yeah I'm happy with how this one came out! if i ever get a physical modeling synth that would be fun to make an even more realistic guitar on haha
there aren't downloads for these as they take a bunch of 3rd party plugins for the sound processing and use a lot of CPU. Id recommend Ample Guitar M Lite if you want a good free guitar vst!! It's better than what I have here in terms of realism because it's sampled, this is mainly just an experiment:)
Bro i still can't believe its possible 🤣😅😅😅 this is the most analog sounding synth i've ever heard my entire life 🤣🤣 how u can get a electronic digital instrument/vst to sound like this? Absolutly beyond all and mindblowing. Someone give this dude a nobel price for sickest synth ever made in edm
😭😭people have made a lot better than this, look up phase plant physically modeled woodwinds there's this one guy who's like insane might give it a round 2 at some point but for now I'm chilling with using ample guitar m lite lol it sounds significantly better (its just using sampling)
unfortunately this guitar uses like 7 vital instances and a lot of 3rd party vsts to make the final sound, its more of an experiment than a finished product haha if you want just like a good guitar for normal use though then ample guitar m lite 2 is great and sounds significantly better than what I've made here (it's sampled, not synthesized though)
I normally would, but this patch is 7 instances and requires a lot of 3rd party vsts after the synthesis to shape the sound! For guitar in general I recommend Ample Guitar M Lite which is a free sample-based guitar that sounds really good and a lot better than what I made here :)
i did do this after I recorded the video, as expected it sounded like a normal digital electric guitar amp sims kinda make everything sound the same lmao
this is more meant to be an exploration to spark ideas and provide a few tips than like an actually possible to follow tutorial, the process here was far too complex to reasonably make into like a step by step thing haha
What type of black magic did you use to get this amazing sound??? 😂 I failed to properly replicate the basic guitar sound, with my guitar sounding like a banjo instead of an acoustic guitar 😅
yeah in my first attempts I had alot of banjo sounds as well haha! main things are getting the eq of the harmonic series right, and making the pluck have more of an attack time, banjos have smaller strings that are easier to pluck so it would make sense for short attack times to sound like them!
unfortunately this one can't be, it uses a decent amount of 3rd party vsts and like 7 vital instances which take like 80% of your cpu, its just not really actually usable past an experiment haha Id recommend just getting ample guitar m lite for your guitaring needs, it's sampled but is really nice and sounds better than this! thank you for the interest though :)
Nice result, but I think the way you showed the method wasn't explained enough. Some of the steps (such as what the envelopes had to be connected to) were just skipped.
yeah, this is more of a showcase/experiment video than a full tutorial! I was learning the methods as I went along, something like this is probably a bit overkill to make in a tutorial video since it uses like 7 vital instances haha
unfortunately this is like way too complex to make a tutorial on and also uses too many external vsts and cpu to give away the patch 😔 this video is mainly just a sound design exploration that I was recording and then edited. the real length of messing around was several hours so it would be a very long explanation if I showed more than the basic technique and important steps haha
true true yeah that's where I started using things I had already sort of put together before because it was such a small detail. I didn't really have a logical method for that part like I did with some of the others I just messed around until it sounded like a scratch lmaooo
This video is more of an experiment than like a super usable setup, it requires a bunch of third party vsts to shape the sound after the vital presets, and the presets themselves fake like 80% of your CPU. Because of that I'm not providing them anywhere. But for a good realistic guitar I would recommend the free Ample Guitar M Lite! It's what I use when I use guitars in songs at the moment.
I am not currently, but in the future I may put it up on Patreon! My main concern is that since this uses like 7 vital instances as well as some paid plugins it would not be a very out of the box product haha
@@spatulawithcurd5051 I suppose I could like bounce every note and then have it trigger separately but that would be quite annoying to to lol After I made this video I found a great guitar vst that sounds better than it anyway haha, it's a discounted product on Roland Cloud so it's free, although also kinda annoying to install
they aren't really practical to put/sell anywhere because they were mainly made as an experiment and use like a ridiculous amount of CPU lolll because it's a rack of like 7 instances. Also it uses some paid plugins for post processing and whatnot. For a good free guitar I would recommend the discontinued and thus free Roland Cloud Terra Guitar! Fairly annoying to install but sounds great once you have it :)
I've wanted to try doing that, at some point I may give it a go but it seems a lottt harder than a guitar without using a synth that has actual simulation of a string and bow setup
There's definitely some parts in the video that were gone over really quickly or excluded, the goal here was to show/explore more general techniques rather than a tutorial on a specific sound!
since this guitar was mainly an experiment and uses like 7 different vital patches and 3rd party vsts it would not really be feasible to sell or give out, sorry roland cloud's terra guitar is a good free one you can get though! (bit hard to install since it's one of their like discontinued plugins but they have a section for that in their software)
a sampler might be more appropriate. there is "grace" which is complete and free. Otherwise you can just create the attack and do the timbre part with the waves.
yeah for sure there are better more realistic ways to make guitars, from a synthesis perspective like physical modeling synth would be a lot better. But I thought it would be a fun challenge haha and I think it came out at least somewhat realistic i normally use terra guitar on Roland cloud for my songs when I need guitar ! (it is like a discontinued product so it's free)
trust me it was not light speed in the moment the raw footage was like 7 hours long 😭 and that was after another batch of around the same time doing my first attempt for practice
yeah it's definitely a bit fast loll, it was never meant to be a tutorial although I assume people are finding it while looking for tutorials. more just like a sound exploration/making of video to show how I roughly approached making the guitar. there were tons of little tweaks off camera as well between stages so you would be correct that it is fully impossible to follow exactly lmaoo
