OP in the first story decided to skip all the steps of grief right to acceptance. Truly an amazing woman, if that story is any indication. The world will be worse without her.
No she's in the bargaining phase. She wants her family to continue on the same way it is now after she dies. That is perfectly natural and normal to want. So she is essentially bargaining that her sister will step in to be her after she dies. The husband and sister are more than likely friends and will stay close but it's not really fair to post posthumously guilt trip your sister into marrying your husband so she can try and be your clone. She's basically using this fantasy to make her feel more comfortable with dying and having her family move on and as is most likely bring a stranger into it who will be raising her kids.
Now I'm worried for the kids though. Once the parents calm down on OP, they will blame their own kids for "starting" the whole thing at the pool bbq, cos people like that never ever accept anything to be their own fault.
I feel sorry for the mum and dad. They seem to be doing their best but for whatever reason the daughters and their husbands are entitled idiots. It can't be easy having such contention in your family.
@@annika5893 I kinda feel like they'll just continue to blame OP and hold that grudge to the bitter end. They seem like the type to see their kids as an extension of themselves, so they should remain blameless.
@@richardhandcock Yeah I was gonna say the same. “Parents” like that rarely if ever realize when their kids are the problem in any situation. They’ll just be bitching to whomever will listen for years and years about how much of a selfish asshole OP is.
someone who are broke and have kids, buys an expensive phone without a Goddamn protective phone case that can withstand explosive is stupid. I mean Great protective phone case is expensive but which one is more expensive? ofc it's a fucking hospital bill because you're drop that goddamn phone with heavy duty phone case on your fcking toe.
OHHHHH. See now. THAT makes more sense. I thought the OP wanted her husband to fall in love with his own sister... I didn't even listen to the story yet and thought that the husband had a sister and OP had a weird inscestual fetish thing.
Interestingly a similar custom used to exist for Jews, according to the old testament. If a married man died without having children, his brother was encouraged to marry the widow.
Dude. SAME! It actually made me happy. OP is in peace with her fate, she’s wishing the best for her family and her kids, she wants two of the people she loves most, to find a shoulder to mourn in a safe place that she knows is a good place. I just hope that she makes the passage in a pain free way, surrounded by the people she loves, and find solace knowing her family will be there one to each other
Story 2: It honestly surprises me how drunk people let themselves become around their children. Completely irresponsible, unless someone is explicitly designated as the sober one. edit: wow, being irresponsible was the least of their problems
It’s like as soon as a horrible parent sees alcohol and other people it’s like, “let’s be the first to get drunk and make someone else look after our brats!”
or even get that drunk around their kids, even at a family gathering no one should be so drunk they cant handle a minor situation much less an emergency
Not only that, but they do that around a pool, making it so much higher chance for the kids to drown accidentally because a parent wasnt paying attention or was too drunk to save them
Story 2: Geez, had the kids just NOT try to send OP into the pool, or the kids' parents NOT try to pin the blame entirely on OP and make him pay for the phones that fell in the water, none of this crap would've happened. And then there's the update. The sister was literally renting out a place she didn't own and pocketing the change, but because she let pride come before reason, now she is in the dirt, and it's all her fault. If she wants money, she can get a job
2nd story: "ruining their business"..... OP should have immediately gone scorch earth when he found out they were unlawfully renting out his porperty and reported it. OP is at high risk of tax evasion on the earnings from renting that property out and not declaring its usage pending where they are/live.
Since OP did not collect that money and did not know of it, the tax man would not be coming after him. His siblings though... if they had not reported those earnings and considering how in debt one of them was... if/when the tax man finds out it will be bad. Actually... that would make an excellent threat. If you keep harassing me I will let the IRS know of your side hustle.
@cjsauer8397, why would he need to? And the backhanded comment isn't needed. You probably think you're being nice, but saying "why doesn't he change it. I mean it's good, but he should" is backhanded. Just ask the question without trying to be "nice".
My grandmother died young, she was 45 and had 4 children. My grandmother asked her sister to look after her kids, my mum and her siblings. My nannan (my great aunt) was an incredible women. She had no children of her own, but she was the greatest mother to my mum and us the grandchildren. She was beloved. She married my grandad just before he died, so she had the same last name as her 'children'. This on the outside seems weird. But we loved her, and she's been gone over ten years now, she died surrounded by her step children, grand children, loved and cared for by her son in laws. We miss her every day (it's been 15 years since she left us) Like I say it's odd on the outside, but her greatest achievement was the love and home she created for her sisters children, and I'm sure her sister was so proud of her for doing it.
There's more stories like this than people know, historically this was more like settled practice because people died earlier the further back in history we go.
It was very common in the past for a man to remarry his late wife's sister. It seems like in a lot of cases, the sister would move in to help look after her nieces and nephews and then end up married to her late sister's widower. Psychologically, it makes a lot of sense: the sister and the widower would already have common ground in loving and missing the same person.
the update to story 2 is absolutely amazing. I'm willing to bet that OP's Sisters/BILS are just thinking to themselves right now: "Well, if it isn't the consequences to my own actions!" When they found out their vacations to the vacation home are no more once they messed up with OP. Brilliant.
My parents had a vacation home that I’d go to occasionally.. when I left to go home I’d make sure it was clean and locked.. my dad went and the place was a mess and I got bitched at for not cleaning.. this happened a couple times until we found out that a family friend was using it as a “ love nest “ for his latest affair partner .. needless to say we changed the locks after my dad punched him in the mouth and apologized to me
@@charminglady2011 worse part was my dad really bitching at me saying how uncaring I was for leaving it like that ( until he found out) but I never really got an apology.. dad only found out by walking in on them doing it in front of the fireplace
How did this person get a copy of the key in the first place? Did your parents not expect their place being trashed by anyone else a possibility? I need help wrapping my head around this
@@razeredgerose well the guy was supposed to be a “ good buddy” of my dad but apparently somehow got the key copied without his knowledge.. so deceit everywhere.. but when my dad walked in and found them all hell broke loose.. “dad was a very formidable man 6’4 and 240 lbs And climbed telephone poles for a living “ and his buddy was limping as he was running out of the cottage.. never did see him again
Story 1: OP is so selfless... I admire her honestly! Coming to terms with her illness and wanting her husband and sister to be happy? Her thoughts are not on herself, but others. Honestly, I can see why people would assume otherwise, but I just find this story heartwarming! Story 2: Wow, just a simple story at a party with a pool that escalated so quickly! I honestly don't know what to say to all of that.
First Story: Wow, um I’m sorry for OP to be dealing with this but I find OP's decision to be honorable and kind. OP wants her husband to fall in love with her sister when she passes Update: OP is such a kind and selfless person. Instead of wanting her husband to be happy with someone else, she wants him to be happy with her sister when she passes Second Story, NTA: Just because they are kids doesn’t mean they get a pass in pushing people in the pool. All OP did was just dodge them. Crazy how its funny when the kids push others into the pool but when they fall in all hell breaks loose? Also, if the parents knew the kids can’t swim, why are they being allowed to play around the pool? Update 1: So they lied about the kids not knowing how to swim to make OP feel guilty and regret what he did. Also, these people have the absolute audacity to think they are entitled to have their phones paid for by OP when OP did absolutely nothing wrong. Good on OP's parents for taking OP's side and chewing them out and then banning them from their house and the vacation house. Crazy how they changed their tune when they find out that OP and his wife owned the vaction house Update 2: OP's sisters terrible financial decisions (and wrong assumptions) are catching up with them and think they are entitled to OP's money and house because "thats what family do", lmao no thats not how family work. OP's sisters are crazy to think OP is required to pay for their kids' college tuitions
Not to mention, had OP's phone gotten wrecked in the pool, the sisters would NOT be paying for it, and playing the "kids will be kids" and "Faaaaaamilyyyyy" cards... They are toxic trash and absolute morons...
No kidding about the kids pushing people in the pool. We had a pool when I was a child (my father used to say it was the best entertainment investment he ever made as a parent; kept us all home and he knew all our friends). He had an ironclad rule - unsafe behavior around the pool (and that included pushing people in) resulted in an immediate loss of pool privileges for the day. Happened to me at a 4th of July party...he didn't ban me from the party, but made me get out, get dried off, and get dressed. Wow did that suck...I still got to stay at the party, but all my siblings and cousins were having fun in the pool. You can bet I never tried that twice!
I was wondering how the second story lasted the rest of the video and turns out it was like falling down stairs, bouncing against a wall, then falling down the next flight, then again and again. I'm just wondering why the sisters chose to have kids or where that A class entitlement came from. I highly doubt it came from the parents.
@@abiean222 I was actually thinking about it and I'm thinking that maybe it's because of their husbands? It sounds like they all had a decent life with nothing crazy, then these guys with money come in and potentially spoiled then while wooing and it snowballed
"When are you paying for my kids phones which they themselves destroyed stupidly AND MALICIOUSLY while I got so drunk i failed my parentsl duty to supervise?!" Asks the person who would've NEVER paid for OPs phone if the kids had their way.
Story 2: To me what's funny is that the sister tried to lie about her kids drawing and they still come come out as the A-holes before the update. Say it with me now, stupid people cannot commit crimes, they always screw it up, in this case they wouldn't even cut your sister just idiotically told the parents what they were doing. Good idea doubling down on the security by recommend getting cameras for the plays in case they are dumb enough to break the gate to get in.
1st story: I completely agree with R/slash. Op isn't trying to force husband & sister together. She's been noticing how close they're getting & doesn't want them felling like they'd be betraying op. She's giving them her blessing. 2nd story: if I were op,I'd make random trips to the cabin to make sure sisters aren't ignoring op's wishes.
I was so happy to hear all the updates about the pool story. I had already read somewhere the original about the kids falling in, parents wanting money for the phones, but that was it... adding all the cabin stuff and additional details was freakin' priceless.
My brother (7) kept trying to push me (17) into the pool during a vacation. My mother kept telling him off for it. I pushed him in and my mother’s only concern was how close he was to the edge. Otherwise it was fine
@@NEPAAlcheythis is probably the best way I've seen someone correct someone else's grammar while also, not sounding all smug and entitled. I hate it when people do that. We all make small errors.
Story 1: the title made it sound bad but in a weird way it's actually incredibly sweet of OP, it's not about them getting together it's about making sure the husband finds happiness when she's gone. Along with her sister, most people would be upset but not her and that's incredibly strong of her.
@@BeefMeisterSupreme You know what? You’re right. I initially wrote it off as his usual clickbait but with the context of the post it is actually insulting and horribly disrespectful.
I'm willing to bet if OP sold the vacation home, they'd just buy another one in the same area so the parents still have a place and the siblings have no idea where it is.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they eventually do since they nor their spouses are backing down. I also think OP should take his sisters to court over using his property for rental income. If anything to cover himself.
@@lorilancaster5917I get the feeling the only reason they haven't been completely cut off from the parents is because of the grandkids. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you without knowing it.
They should be lucky CPS didn't immediately take their kids. The sisters' envy and irresponsibility is going to screw them over sooner or later. The BiLs are no better for caring more about keeping their respective jealous hoebags happy than to have common sense.
@@akl2k7yeah because at first OPs mom said the grandchildren are no longer welcomed at their place and correct me if I’m wrong but she refused to babysit. However in the last update the mom discusses she visits OPs siblings and sees their kids. May be different scenarios or they bent their own boundary
Im actually surprised the parents aren't more angry... or maybe they haven't yet realised that the sisters thought they were screwing their parents over for thousands of dollars, until they found out it was op's cabin...
Second story - It's funny, to try to save themselves money by making their "rich brother" pay for the phones, that they carelessly let their kids destroy, they instead lose their "secret income" because of it! LOL, I do feel for the mom because you KNOW she has to hear the sister's complaints every time she wants to see her grandkids but that is the greedy entitled sisters' fault. I have heard this one before but I never caught the part where OP's sister bragged about inheriting the land and "building more houses" because it makes so much sense now! She wanted to triple her income and I'm sure even if it was split between all of them, like she thought, she still would have kept the extra money hidden from OP! Play stupid games and win stupid prizes! LOL
In all honesty, OP should sue his sisters and their husband's for all the money they made renting out HIS property, because legally it belongs to him, because it's his property.
Anyone gonna point out that even after expressly being told they can't use the property, one of the BIL went up there? And then got 'embarrased' he couldn't get into a place he was told he couldn't? 😂😂😂
I don't see the first story as "creepy" even if it does seem like she is trying to push them together, It was more like she is saying "Hey if this happens between you two after I'm gone don't feel guilty for that love.". When she is gone she will have no say in what they do after so she just wants to tell them how she feels before she can't. She is not forcing them into bed together just wants two people she loves to find happiness even if they don't end up together...
S1 - The wife sounds like she was an amazing person. Whatever the future for her hubby & sister, I hope they’re all happy. (Never thought I’d say that about a man falling for his SiL.) S2 - I remember this story. Glad to hear the update. Also, I’m w/ rSlash again here. They had the perfect scam going, all they had to do was keep their mouths shut. Also, savings are a thing. If they got $2K for a weekend & $4K for a full week, for just once a month, that’s $6K in pocket. That’s without using the rest of the month. (2-3 weeks of rent is $8-12K! One month!) Save & invest! I don’t support criminal behavior, but I do hate idiocy. If you’re going to do anything, be smart about it.
Second story: wild how some silly incident at a summer/pool party leads to so much damn drama and craziness. I guess that's what happens when you get complacent with your crappy behaviour then take it way too far.
Remember a few weeks back, where rSlash read a story about woman who married a man and faked her love for over a decade just to be close to his best friend, and a couple of weeks after the truth came out she commited suicide? Story #1 kind of reminds me of that one but it's like the complete opposite. While the other story was just tragic all around, this one feels beautiful in a way. I hope OP finds peace. 💚
Man. I clicked on this video expecting drama from the title story and instead I got a wholesomely sad story. At least story two fulfilled my drama quota.
The work you’re looking for is “thieves.” The sister and their husbands are thieves. They thought they were stealing from the parents when they pressed OP about the phone, but then found out they were stealing from OP. Whoops!
Story 1: OP knows that her husband and her sister has some sort of emotional engagement, and she gives her blessing to them. She is so nice with a big heart. I hope she will be okay, and if the worst happens, her husband and her sister can start their new chapter of life, and cherishing the children as OP did. Bittersweet updates. Story 2: It's safe to say that there will be more dramas from the Karen sisters. I can't help assuming OP's sisters boltcutting the lock and break into the property just to continue their "AirBnB business". If I were OP, I would consider escalate to legal level - restraining orders, press charges for trespassing, etc. Damn, they are bleeding entitlement and selfishness. Hopefully we can hear more updates from OP. It's still ongoing and not with a closure yet.
Also, OP's oldest sister lied about their actual finance situation - she and her husband's flex is based on maxxing out their credit card and lots of debt? Come on, this is so irresponsible. And since she has the audacity to order OP to pay their children's college tuition, I believe she will ask (or more probably, order) OP to cover her butt if she didn't confess her financial mess which eventually will blow up.
I’m honestly surprised that it hasn’t dawned that what OPs sisters and their husbands were doing was either illegal or at the very least against TOS for AirBnB. Frankly, make contact long enough to take the profits away from them and cut them off soon as the judgment is in
Story 2: There is a rule, if you want to be a criminal, be polite. Don't be an Asshole to literally everybody you meet, otherwise you'll struggle to get away with anything.
AITA story: OP needs to sue the crap out of his two sisters and BIL's for the income they made using his property without his permission. Also for any damage done to the property after securing it (such as broken locks) and harassment. Then, assuming they all realize just how screwed they truly are and admit defeat, allow them to pay a fraction of the amount they made from the rentals. But that likely wouldn't happen, which means they'd wind up in front of a judge, who in turn would rip the four of them apart for just how entitled and stupid they've been acting, especially when hearing about how the BIL's tried to insist that OP pays for the phones and refunding the rental guests. Also, OP should formally trespass the four of them from the property, so if they are still sneaking on there and OP catches them, they can get arrested and learn just how in the wrong they are.
Knowing adults around me were drunk as a kid made me super uncomfortable. I would never intentionally be drunk around my son. Edit: Wow the entitlement and poor planning inspired by baseless assumptions from these people!
Story 2: OP's siblings probably won't be swimming for the rest of their lives; no point in swimming when you've shot yourself in the feet so many times that you may as well have them surgically removed and tossed into the sea so they can go find a pineapple to live in.
Story 1: i totally agree with your assessment of OP ‘giving her blessing’ IF they get together, and just making sure NO ONE tries to stop it for OP’s sake, after she’s gone. BUT i will say this… your title “I Want My Husband to Sleep with My Sister” is VERY misleading and wasn’t stated once. Tsk tsk for the bait.
The title definitely threw me off a bit, but the story itself wasn’t as bad. I definitely get where some people are coming from, thinking OP is pushing them together. But I definitely agree that it’s more of her showing them that she approves of whatever happens between them after her passing. She knows they have some feelings for each other, and she wants them to be happy. She was playing wingman essentially, and I don’t think she was forcing something that wasn’t there or pressuring them. All in all, it’s sweet but sad, and I get why some people get an ick but I truly think OP has the best of intentions.
I’m sorry but I couldn’t get past the pushiness. I know she’s thinking of everyone else and she’s letting them know her wishes but it should be up to them as well.
1st story: It is thoughtful of OP to make sure her family is set when she passes...... BUT...... based on OPs perception it is as if she witnessed her husband's and sister's emotional affairs and since she is passing has come to terms with it. An Incredibly sad story but I agree with the reddit commenters, it does sound icky.
Hey Dabney, just wanted to say hi from Scotland, me, my wife and my son all love your videos!! Give Hugo a big cuddle from us and maybe give the smith family a shout out? Currently trying to work my way through all your video history!
If I was OP on second story, I’d say “you’ve been using my property for your financial gain without my permission, I’ll report this if you want to continue down this entitled brat temper tantrum for not getting their way of effing over their mom and dad” Then report them anyways. Them taking advantage of property that isn’t theirs… they deserve the consequences of paying back the $2,000-$24,000 they made a month off that property. And they made their clients lie about being there with the sister… And $2,000+ extra income a year and they struggle with money!? How is it you spend that much EXTRA money and not be in a comfortable living situation!?
The first story is sweet, and surprisingly not uncommon. There was an Everybody Loves Raymond episode about this sort of topic. Played for laughs, obviously, but the idea behind it (the spouse not being left completely alone after a tragedy while also giving the living spouse consent to move on and love again) is a sweet gesture.
The first story was actually really sweet. The title gave me an idea that OP would be terminally ill, and I love that she had the foresight to not only recognize what might develop, but also leave correspondence showing that they have her blessing, as if both of them really care about OP they may feel like its forbidden, but if OP herself says that she thinks it would be a lovely idea based on their dynamic...
I heard the first part of the second story and thought it was funny. But the updates, omg. I did not expect OP avoiding a dumb "prank" to go downhill so massively lol.
The first post was very touching. The generosity of OP’s heart will contribute to the healing from her departure to her husband, kids, relatives and friends. God bless her😟😔😞🥀.
Story 1: Honestly, I can understand why some people are a little reserved, but OP is fine with it, and there really isn't anything icky here, so I just hope that everyone goes out well for everyone
Maybe it's because no one bothered to ask the HUSBAND how he feels and everyone just decided without him it's fine? Maybe it's the fact that those kids are about to lose their mother and people are trying to get dad to replace their mom with her sister? That's nasty
@Nerobyrne POV stands for point of view. So, they were saying look at it from the kid's perspective. You're one of the children, and after you lose your mom, your dad gets with your aunt.
@@joellehansen6961I mean it's weird but not really bad. What's bad is not tellung the husband because what if he doesnt want to remarry or if he dosent want the sis. That's fucked up death wish to push on the husband and this goes vise versa with sis. Other than that nothing is really wrong with OP proposal other than she's weird.
2nd Story: If OP really wanted them off his back, he should threaten them with the IRS because all that money they made off of his property that they pocketed should be reported as income because it was happening regularly, not as one time deals Edit: if OPs property was used as a BnB, had the IRS caught wind of this side business OP would be stuck with the shit smeared end of the stick and he would be forced into paying fines ans taxes (because i assume the property tax would spike if it can accommodate families with steady income
About 2nd story: That's why you need to always be kind to people around you. If sisters were kind to OP they could keep living their relatively good lives, but no, they've had to be bitches about phones.
About the first story: In Judaism marrying your late wife's sister is actually encouraged and considered a good deed. This is because an aunt will generally love her nieces/nephews like a mother.
I love this first story. When my husband and I watched Castaway for the first time, we were both devastated by the ending scenes, where Tom Hanks returns to Helen Hunt and she’s gotten on with her life. It’s a NA situation but they were both hurt. We immediately made an agreement - one year waiting period if we see the dead body of the other person. Two years if we don’t. After that, we each expect the other to get on with their lives. Anxiety alleviated. We’ve mentioned it every few years since and it seems like such a good idea. Op is trying to anticipate any objections from others ahead of time on her behalf and deal with it. She sounds amazing.
99% of criminals aren't bright enough to get out of their own way! Normal people would have scolded the kids for running around the pool and being careless with the phone. Making the kids work chores to "pay" for the phone. And isn't that what insurance was for??? I guess they didn't have it for the phone... time to get a $200 phone at Walmart!
I cannot get over the parents saying that their kids can't swim and thinking it will make OP look bad. It doesn't! It makes them look like bad parents to dress their kids up in swim wear and let them run around next to the pool and risk drowning, as well as having neglected their obvious interest in swimming.
Your reactions, especially to the last story nearly had me on the floor LITERALLY! You are HYSTERICAL! Thank you for continually bringing your light into our lives! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
S1: I respect OP’s decision but I don’t like that the husband might feel guilted into forming a relationship with the sister. It would have been better to write the letters and have them given to them if they naturally tried dating so they know she gave her blessing
The pool story caused me think of how stupid some criminals can be. Like the guy with warrants who called the Police because his McDonald's fries were imperfect (Body Cam Videos). Or the courier who was carrying over 100K fentanyl pills while driving over the limit across New Mexico (CLR Bruce Rivers). In each case, like this one, all they had to do was not call attention and scrutiny to themselves.
That first story took a HOLY SHIT turn that I was NOT expecting. And goddamn that is tragic and it makes me so sad. I'm so sorry for OP, and I hope for the best for her family. ❤
I know this video is months old so you probably won’t see this, but I’d HIGHLY recommend revisiting the last story. It is long, but the updates are worth it. To not spoil anything I’ll just say that the cops have to get involved after OP refuses to open up the vacation home to his siblings/inlaws
Story Two: Gosh I feel so bad for OP. He sounds like he's a decent person and he can't even rely on his siblings to treat him nicely. I love my older brother to pieces. He's such a supportive and loving person, pretty much everyone who meets him likes him. Me and my sisters would never treat our brother like this. He was kind of the golden child when we were kids, but he's such a nice person he never took advantage of our parents' favoritism, and all of us doted on him, lol.
Story 1: OP is the kindest wife EVER.. She's the perfect wife, sister and.. wow.. I almost cried... If she die, rest in peace, OP.. We all love you, buddy❤❤
Re: story #2 Holy hand grenades, Batman!!! I had heard the first part of the story before, but it still managed to spike the old blood pressure. I can't blame OP for cutting off his sisters and BILS; I wouldn't blame him if he included his parents into that, too.
The first story is honestly really bittersweet 😢. Op obviously has a very kind soul and I hope she passes away in peace. The second story however was HILARIOUS!!!!
The sisters of OP couldn't even try hard enough to apologize, take responsibility, say anything about how they will try to be better and to please give them a second chance. Instead they just doubled down and insulted OP more. They truly are insanely stupid with their husbands included.
Story 2: wow, those entitled sisters and BIL are crazy! If a ‘renter’ was injured or something, or damaged the property, or any other number of things that could have happened, happened… i am sure they don’t have the proper insurance on the property to make it a rental. And i am sure they aren’t reporting any of that to the IRS either. Just wow. The audacity! Basically, they were stealing $2k to $4k a month from their own parents!!! That is insane! (Because the parents could have rented it out then instead.) Wow! I am just floored by this!
Three years, 36 months at an average of $3k per month… approximately $108,000 over that time. Think they informed the IRS about that $. If OP wanted to REALLY screw his sister(s)…
Second story NTA. As a kid I liked pushing people in the pool too, but my parents always ingrained it in us that it had to be consensual. (Our mom was not a great swimmer so she was off limits) and if we forgot to ask we got in time out. We were six and seven. So it's not hard to teach nine and ten year olds this too. Cause what if someone isnt prepared or sucks in water when they fall? What if it's a shallow area and they get hurt, what if it's a kid who cant swim. All possibilities. Parents can teach the kids simple rules.
Laughing at the update for the Falling in the Pool story because OP's dad is giving that Red Foreman energy who just wanted to relax and enjoy his beer in the pool and now all this drama erupts and now he has to get involved so there will be hell to pay. 🤣🤣
The Commons saying that it was icky and creepy honestly pisses me off. Why are people so quick to twist things into their own sick narrative, or make awful assumptions about something that is truly sweet and beautiful? I just can't stand cynical people.
So, I want to comment on pool part. I am a lifeguard and it is so common for parents to not pay attention to their kids even if they can’t swim. At my pool we have a rule that if your kid is under a certain age you have to be in arms reach or them, but if they are above that in a different range you have to be in the water with them. We have had parents leave the pool over this rule that is saying be a good parent and pay attention to your kids. It’s incredible how many parents let their kids do anything while they just sit in the hot tub or sunbathe. Again many of these kids can’t swim. And for an argument against it, the lifeguards are watching right? We are, but when their are 100+ kids in the pool it’s hard to pick out one who happens to be drowning when 10 others are doing something we don’t allow at the pool.
1st story: idk it feels like she has the ''survivor guilt'' version of relationships, she feels that she shouldnt have the relationship she has and that her sister is the one that should have been married to the dude, and she is indeed pushing the relationship, the sister didnt smile coz ''she saw through her'', she smiled coz she cant say shit coz her sister is dying!, if a dying sibling ask something even with the ''its a joke'' filter then anyone would smile and nod! I think she may have instead screwed the future over, if she kept quiet and if it was meant to be then it would have happened naturally, but since she went: ' ''heyyyy sis! my husband and you look good together dont you think?'' now if they actually develop feelings in the future they are gonna be second guessing themselves, with stuff like: - are we actually in love or are we doing this coz knew this is what she wanted? - dude: was i actually in love with her sister and she felt that? or did i do something to make her believe i had feelings for her sister? - sister: did she think i resented her for taking away the guy i loved? does that mean that she was happy about finally removing the ''obstacle'' she was for our supposed true love? - did she believed we were meant to be when she was alive and healthy? does that mean that she felt guilty about taking him away? and all kind of emotional BS that is gonna be super awkward to clear up....i just think she made a horrible decision.
That last story... they thought they were riding their PARENTS' gravy train. If they had any idea that OP was the actual owner of that house, they would have been loads nicer, I'm sure.
Inhaling so much r/BestOf means that whenever Dabney covers the subreddit, I'll hear a title and go "oh wait til you get a load of THIS one", especially abt the pool one in this episode
The first story I see it as OP wanting her husband and sister to be happy and showing them that it would be ok if they got together. It just shows that OP cares so much for both of them after shes gone. OP didnt have the steps of gref! Just acceptance of them getting together if they choose to.
OP in the first story decided to skip all the steps of grief right to acceptance.
Truly an amazing woman, if that story is any indication. The world will be worse without her.
she probably didn't, but didn't put any of those onto Reddit
I knew someone stuck on anger for 5 years until they died. OP is so much better off
Because resistance... is futile >: ]

That first story is just so tragic. I hope the best for OP’s family.
The butterfly effect from not letting the kids push the brother into the pool is wild
That's a movie I rather not watch again
@@annika5893 I kinda feel like they'll just continue to blame OP and hold that grudge to the bitter end. They seem like the type to see their kids as an extension of themselves, so they should remain blameless.
@@richardhandcock Yeah I was gonna say the same. “Parents” like that rarely if ever realize when their kids are the problem in any situation. They’ll just be bitching to whomever will listen for years and years about how much of a selfish asshole OP is.
Imagine allowing your kids to use a cellphone around the pool and not expect it to be dropped in.
I know my nieces. I would never give them a phone of any kind around water.
Fr
Now that’s a parent comment, I hundred percent agree😂
Who buys an expensive phone and doesn't insure it?
someone who are broke and have kids, buys an expensive phone without a Goddamn protective phone case that can withstand explosive is stupid.
I mean Great protective phone case is expensive but which one is more expensive? ofc it's a fucking hospital bill because you're drop that goddamn phone with heavy duty phone case on your fcking toe.
That second story is a prime example of a fuck around and find out graph. They kept pushing it more and more and it got worse and worse
I never thought a story about a man falling in love with his wife's sister would make me cry happy tears.
OHHHHH. See now. THAT makes more sense. I thought the OP wanted her husband to fall in love with his own sister... I didn't even listen to the story yet and thought that the husband had a sister and OP had a weird inscestual fetish thing.
Right! I wasn't ready to cry so early in the morning!
Interestingly a similar custom used to exist for Jews, according to the old testament. If a married man died without having children, his brother was encouraged to marry the widow.
@@TheSolidMidgetOfficialthat must have been a wild ride for you, buddy
Dude.
And then they let the grandparents take care of all of them.
Not only that, but they do that around a pool, making it so much higher chance for the kids to drown accidentally because a parent wasnt paying attention or was too drunk to save them
Lol at the edit. More like “being irresponsible is the ENTIRE problem, in more ways than one.” 😅
If she wants money, she can get a job
yeah there's this old bit of wisdom about hands that feed you and biting them.

2nd story: "ruining their business"..... OP should have immediately gone scorch earth when he found out they were unlawfully renting out his porperty and reported it. OP is at high risk of tax evasion on the earnings from renting that property out and not declaring its usage pending where they are/live.
And we know the sisters aren’t reporting the rental income on taxes
Yup he could've easily get them sued for fraud and tax fraud.
Not just taxes. Imagine if one of the renters had an accident and filed a lawsuit.
OP can get some money for reporting their tax evasion too, and put it towards a new vacation home.

We miss her every day (it's been 15 years since she left us)
Like I say it's odd on the outside, but her greatest achievement was the love and home she created for her sisters children, and I'm sure her sister was so proud of her for doing it.

OP wants her husband to fall in love with her sister when she passes
Update: OP is such a kind and selfless person. Instead of wanting her husband to be happy with someone else, she wants him to be happy with her sister when she passes
Second Story, NTA: Just because they are kids doesn’t mean they get a pass in pushing people in the pool.
Crazy how they changed their tune when they find out that OP and his wife owned the vaction house
Update 2: OP's sisters terrible financial decisions (and wrong assumptions) are catching up with them and think they are entitled to OP's money and house because "thats what family do", lmao no thats not how family work.
Their entitlement may have laid dormant until they landed financially well off husbands
Your description had me dying.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
right? like OP is a decent person and the grandparents sound good too. like, where the hell did the girls learn to act this way?
@@abiean222 I was actually thinking about it and I'm thinking that maybe it's because of their husbands? It sounds like they all had a decent life with nothing crazy, then these guys with money come in and potentially spoiled then while wooing and it snowballed

Why is the first story so depressingly wholesome?
My brother (7) kept trying to push me (17) into the pool during a vacation. My mother kept telling him off for it. I pushed him in and my mother’s only concern was how close he was to the edge. Otherwise it was fine
Story 2, I can understand the parents being so upset. They probably thought they failed as parents. What betrayal! The exploitive behavior!
Story 1 I heard this one. This is just sad. I hope she passes in piece and happiness.
I hope she passes in peace. Passing in pieces sounds painful.
'Piece' 😭
@@NEPAAlcheythis is probably the best way I've seen someone correct someone else's grammar while also, not sounding all smug and entitled. I hate it when people do that. We all make small errors.
Story 1: the title made it sound bad but in a weird way it's actually incredibly sweet of OP, it's not about them getting together it's about making sure the husband finds happiness when she's gone. Along with her sister, most people would be upset but not her and that's incredibly strong of her.
yeah, the title and thumbnail are not only misrepresentative, it's actually kind of an insult to OP.
@@BeefMeisterSupreme You know what? You’re right. I initially wrote it off as his usual clickbait but with the context of the post it is actually insulting and horribly disrespectful.
@d.phantomfan1216 getting a governor?
I'm willing to bet if OP sold the vacation home, they'd just buy another one in the same area so the parents still have a place and the siblings have no idea where it is.
The sisters in the 2nd story are lucky they weren't entirely disowned for what they were doing.
The second story is the definition of a train wreck
it just kept getting worse lol
A gravy train wreck
I think Story #1 is so beautiful! I think she wants happiness for her husband and especially, her kids! Oh God! Bless that selfless woman!
I know right? I wanted to give her a hug so bad. I don’t think I can do what she was doing without feeling some sort of hurt and pain.
such true love she has for her husband and sister. she just wants to know that they'll be happy once she's gone
I would have installed a camera at the front gate linked to my phone with a speaker... and told them they are not allowed on the property! 🤣
(Never thought I’d say that about a man falling for his SiL.)
S2 - I remember this story.
The dad is a legend for just watching from the whirlpool end without saying anything
I don’t remember that one can you tell me where
oh god yeah, that one is pretty dark
Oh I just immediately assumed they’d be getting blot cutters lol
And they’ll probably try to charge OP for them too!
That first mother is one of the most selfless people I’ve ever read about
Story 2 I think.. The parents are the MUTHAPHUNKIN OG'S!! 😎😎
Jesus, the first story broke me and I almost started crying while at work
Knowing adults around me were drunk as a kid made me super uncomfortable.
This comment made me laugh so hard! 🤣🤣🤣
If I was OP on second story, I’d say “you’ve been using my property for your financial gain without my permission, I’ll report this if you want to continue down this entitled brat temper tantrum for not getting their way of effing over their mom and dad”
Then report them anyways. Them taking advantage of property that isn’t theirs… they deserve the consequences of paying back the $2,000-$24,000 they made a month off that property. And they made their clients lie about being there with the sister…
And $2,000+ extra income a year and they struggle with money!?
I agree with rslash for the first story. OP is giving her blessing and it's like really bitter sweet, but still sweet

One of those rare postings, where I spot on wholeheartedly 100% agree with RSlash all of his rulings. Great episode some seriously.🤯 people
Story 1: Honestly, I can understand why some people are a little reserved, but OP is fine with it, and there really isn't anything icky here, so I just hope that everyone goes out well for everyone
pov: you’re theyre child so your dad is with your aunt
@@blackthunder3198 okay, I don't understand the problem.
Also, what's POV mean in this context?
Maybe it's because no one bothered to ask the HUSBAND how he feels and everyone just decided without him it's fine? Maybe it's the fact that those kids are about to lose their mother and people are trying to get dad to replace their mom with her sister? That's nasty

2nd Story: If OP really wanted them off his back, he should threaten them with the IRS because all that money they made off of his property that they pocketed should be reported as income because it was happening regularly, not as one time deals
Edit: if OPs property was used as a BnB, had the IRS caught wind of this side business OP would be stuck with the shit smeared end of the stick and he would be forced into paying fines ans taxes (because i assume the property tax would spike if it can accommodate families with steady income

"If you're gonna be criminal, don't be criminally stupid " words to live by
99% of criminals aren't bright enough to get out of their own way!
Normal people would have scolded the kids for running around the pool and being careless with the phone. Making the kids work chores to "pay" for the phone. And isn't that what insurance was for??? I guess they didn't have it for the phone... time to get a $200 phone at Walmart!
Last OP: YES, SELL THE VACATION HOUSE! Buy a new one for your parents and no one share the info with the siblings.
The Final "Crimanlly Stupid" had me laughing at the end. Thanks rSlash.
The second story was boggling. There is SO MUCH wrong with their mindsets it’s actually painful to try to process it.
I’m laughing so far at him moving out of the way to let the kids fall in and the OHONEs being at the bottom of the poolmade me giggle so hard
Good morning everyone. I hope you’re having a decent Friday thus far.
I know this video is months old so you probably won’t see this, but I’d HIGHLY recommend revisiting the last story. It is long, but the updates are worth it. To not spoil anything I’ll just say that the cops have to get involved after OP refuses to open up the vacation home to his siblings/inlaws
Morning Coffee and rslash.. perfect
I love seeing u get stories from r/twohottakes. I've been avoiding reddit bc I enjoy listening to u AND Morgan but hate when there's overlap.
Re: story #2
Holy hand grenades, Batman!!!
I had heard the first part of the story before, but it still managed to spike the old blood pressure. I can't blame OP for cutting off his sisters and BILS; I wouldn't blame him if he included his parents into that, too.
*hears first story*
*looks to my left*
*sees guy chopping onions*
"dammit not again"
but seriously that first story hit hard
On your left

I came to your channel to keep myself busy not to break down crying on the 1st story😭
This episode was a roller coaster of emotions, rslash I do believe you managed to hit 'em all.
*Second story* I think the sisters are just now finding out that op holds all the cards and basically controls the family
Story 2: The sisters and their families are a disaster. Pure embarrassment.
The first story was a tear jerker. Noble lady.
(Because the parents could have rented it out then instead.)
Wow!
The first story has me crying. I hope it works out for everyone and that they can all heal. I don't think its icky I think it could be sweet
I think she may have instead screwed the future over, if she kept quiet and if it was meant to be then it would have happened naturally, but since she went: '
''heyyyy sis! my husband and you look good together dont you think?''
now if they actually develop feelings in the future they are gonna be second guessing themselves, with stuff like:
- are we actually in love or are we doing this coz knew this is what she wanted?
- dude: was i actually in love with her sister and she felt that? or did i do something to make her believe i had feelings for her sister?
- sister: did she think i resented her for taking away the guy i loved? does that mean that she was happy about finally removing the ''obstacle'' she was for our supposed true love?
- did she believed we were meant to be when she was alive and healthy? does that mean that she felt guilty about taking him away?
and all kind of emotional BS that is gonna be super awkward to clear up....i just think she made a horrible decision.
Thought it was only me who felt some type of way from that story from all the comments.....
G's! People like you are the reasons why we can't have nice things!
