Those single player replay crashes never happen in the game, that was removed. When viewing those, the camera will switch to the player position camera each time a crash happens, instead of viewing it from spectator camera. This happens with every other Burnout Game from 2 onwards. Takedown, Rivals, Revenge and Dominator. The only time this didn't happen, was the original game.
I'm glad you caught that. One of the charming things about Burnout 1 was the dramatic OOMPH of the crash sequences. While the crashes themselves have gotten more detailed, Burnout 2's crash cam just felt a bit sterile in comparison to the original.
I recently bought this game on Xbox. The Xbox version single handedly destroys the PS2 version why? Because in the Xbox version, it has 21 exclusive custom car skins, 15 more crash mode sites (making it 30 crash sites overall), Xbox Live online leaderboard, Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound and last, but not least, custom soundtrack support.
