@@dosepulveda1 I'm not sure if you're hearing the sound/music/beats only and not actually listetnting to the lyrics and yes some may say crossover. But I'm a super fan of this whole genre meaning I ONLY LISTEN TO CHH, and that pretty much started with my guy Lecrea who has ALWAYS BEEN A RAPPER!. I grew up in the 80's and when I accepted God in my life at the age of 19, this whole genre that you call "crossover" carried and CROSSED ME OVER to a better side. I hated how rappers only talked about, drugs, money, sex. I couldn't even listen to the radio and ppl we're looking at me as if I were a " jesus freak" when I joined the Navy they even called me that a few times. BUT that was because they didn't understand like I did. I prayed with ppl in the NAVY when God told me to and it brought about great change in not only my life, but a few hundred who were attached to the same command. I say all that to say, just because a Poodle barks, doesn't make him a Rottweiler it just makes is a dog right? My point is, I challenge you to listen to the words and allow the truth to speak to you verses you downing a genre of guys that have literally kept me sane. I grew up on rap and don't always wanna cry to traditional gospel music, but with that being said, there are times for that as well, and that is why I LOVE THESE GUYS for what they are doing. I am able to use their music to speak to the minds and hearts of the youth in the juvenile centers and it's effective. So maybe YOU don't like it and it may sound crossover to you, but if you ask me it's just the right sound to win those particular ears to OUR SAVIOUR. You may still NEED TO CROSSOVER YOURSELF?. TO THIS SIDE. THE INVITATION IS HERE AT THIS ALTER CALL. COME ACCEPT TRUTH IN YOUR LIFE SO THAT IT MAY HEAL YOUR CALLOUSED HEART. HE IS FREE AND AVAILABLE TO ALL.....ps.... Do you listen to mainstream rap AT ALL? What is your choice of worship? The genre extends far and wide with a great variety for all. Maybe you haven't found the right fit for you. Let me know what type of music you like and I can introduce you to some good stuff if this isn't your cup of tea. But for the record. He is calling the people to be aware, to really be conscious and awake of what's really going on in this world if evil. He speaks in a way that he understands what people are going through but like my guy Mr. Minor would say, you have to be acting like Royalty and walking in Greatness! God commands us to do that. Unfortunately traditional ways have always has been what has ppl confused of what living for God truly is. The crossover is not in the music it's in the mind first, the body then follows. Lecrea and these guys have been around WAY before any of these hot today not tomorrow guys anyways. They don't need to crossover to be relevant, they have GOD. They are the real OG's, taking the opportunity to expose these young boys to their SAVIOUR. Now however, I do get what your saying and that's for the weak mind. Listen to what they are saying and see the truth in it. Their content has never changed, yes they have evolved over the years, but that's what we're supposed to do right?!

I actually saw Trip Lee and Tedashii at a Student Life camp for my church i went to before my parents and i left it to go to a different church. It was about 4 years ago when it happened and even though I didn't know of them, i had some help from a friend who went with me and the other youth to the trip to tell me about them and i started listening to them after the night they preformed at the event!! I even danced along to the songs they performed!!!
