For everyone who's asking:- We're using Mi MIX smartphone in the video, and you can also watch our dedicated video on the same here -> ruclips.net/video/nHJzQYNqNrA/видео.html :)
All the folks making crass, crude and idiotic comments on the presenter's attributes; if all you want to see is a pretty face, why don't you run over to more appropriate channels? Appreciate this video, and the uploader's effort for what it is: an excellent insight on some of Google Map's more obscure, but useful features.
Nice guy I’m sure. But am I the only one needing an English translation? I have a different time understand him. This is not a racist remark! It’s reality.
Excellent video, thank you for posting! I love Google Maps and considered myself very skilled in it but you showed me several things I didn't know - for each of them I paused your video and tried it. I knew about time travel with street view, saving parking location, avoiding tolls, and such. I didn't know about location sharing from Google Maps - very useful when you are heading to pick someone up. Timeline? I had never heard of it. I saw the Uber/Lyft thing in the navigation but didn't know you could book a ride with it. I also learned that adding a stop in navigation can be used to force a different route in a trip - I've wondered how to make it use a different route than the ones it suggests. On the timeline, I played with it for a long time because it shows me my Google Photos from that time and location - very cool! Also, I saw my calendar events (that have locations attached) and upcoming airline flights (from email confirmations) and tried starting the navigation (including Uber and Lyft) using these locations. Nice! I started your video well over an hour ago and spent all that time playing with the features you explained. Well done, Mr. Jindal!
hats off to you guys the only tech channel in India that is giving some value to their time by giving useful tips and tricks other than mobile reviews unboxing bend test blah blah blah.... proud to be a member of this family... keep going guys
I didn't know about the location history in Google Maps so I decided to give it a try and I have to admit that I was rather impressed. I feel a real globetrotter now :-). Thanks for the tip!
I also like time travel feature a lot. If it does not work in your location, just have a try with Google Earth. Google Earth has a time travel function too. (Not in street view mode unfortunately) But this function works in India too. In New Delhi for example you can go back to November 5 2000 !
Very helpful video, nice job. I was curious how you got such a nice video of using the phone in your hands. Specifically how did you get a camera of some sort between your face the cell phone to accomplish such a nice video tutorial? Thanks for any information you can share on how you did it.
One feature that would be really great would be a user defined custom floating toggle on/off for any item buried in menu system. For example: when I drive for UBER I often switch between avoiding tolls (when I don't have a PAX and want to get back to a boost/surge area) and using tolls (when I have a PAX). An ever present on/off button for this would be really useful.
Google maps usually saves your parking location automatically based on your speed you were travelling and where you slowed down and eventually stopped. Not everyone wants to take their phone out every time they park the cars somewhere. I've accidentally discovered this feature when I was lost in a Mall here in Jersey and forgot where I parked. I don't know why I looked at the Google app for news and scrolled down and I saw something saying 'your parking location' and Google saved me that night. This happened to me back in 2015 but I am not sure when this feature was integrated in Google maps.
Google is awesome! There is just one feature I badly want from Google which is really important and useful for travelers and tourists. The ability to get location names spoken maybe with headphones on. One of the reasons I like buses 🚌 in Turkey 🇹🇷. They announce every stop.
Sharing real time location was also available in GOogle Plus for last many years. Google is now sharing location in google maps with some additional features like temporary sharing. Sharing real time location for family and friends is the coolest feature according to me. Thanks
3:00 it would be great if Google would have an option to propose stops only on or near the already calculated route. Usually the first options are the closer ones, but they can be at completely opposite directions. Waze proposes stops and indicates if they are on the currently planned route or how many minutes you will need to add.
Thanks Beebom for uploading video... it will give a great help... One problem I am facing ... I have updated Google map app.. it still the parking features is not showing.... it there any other settings for this feature !!!!
Thanks, great presentation. Very useful, very direct and OUTSTANDING USE OF ACTUAL SCREEN IMAGES to show whats being explained whereas MOST videos here on RUclips ARE A WASTE OF TIME BECAUSE THEY MAINLY show a TALKING (RAMBLING is more like it) HEAD AND RARELY ACTUALLY SHOW WHAT THEY ARE DISCUSSING. Again, great work !
the best is google download history, i m checking my own. and you forgot the new feature that when we are going to anywhere using navigation after reaching the destination it tells our average speed as i m cyclist its very usefull for me. btw thanks for great tips.
just a tip from me: I do assume, that your monitor screen is to your right. Still, it would be much nicer, if you looked into your camera, instead of the screen, it sort of gives a weird impression, as if you where cross eyed, or just not interested. A lot of people do this also when skyping, they look into the screen and not into the camera, which is usually on top of the screen. It's ok when you're on a private call, but not when posting a video and you want a lot of clicks

I love how Google adds fun into their products for instance the Error dinosaur game in their Chrome Browser. Now, Google Maps has pacman!
I liked the Distance travel because I didn't know that existed. Good video. Thanks!

I have a trick. Turn data on. Type in location and press start. Turn your data off and u will have a journey using no data.
Is this working?
@@medusataper817 You can actually download an area from Google Maps and navigate offline. You will loose realtime traffic, but navigation is possible.
@@jesperchristensen7831 Or you are In a place where there is NO data?
