A lot of heat coming. I found myself at a crossroad. Plant my ground because it can handle the moisture better and I can get out there, then focus on custom work next week, and accept a June planting for my ground this year. Or wait. Im waiting. Wish me luck 🍀!
It’s not just how it hits you this year, as you know. Getting those cover crops off to a robust start for next years cash crop, after bringing in this years crop is a delicate balancing act. The 1.6-1.7 beans we plant helps with timing.

That is what Rick likes to say for corn planting. I say if it’s fit you plant, especially in April for beans.

How do you control the weeds after the rye grows. I know you crimp roll the rye down but what about the weeds that are already there when planting?

How are you going to kill the rye, I know you are going to crimp it but how when it’s so young, are you sure it will grow to anthesis when the soybeans are in that v2 or 3?
