It's such a breath of fresh air to find a youtuber who not only writes a script with correct grammar and punctuation, but also executes the narration flawlessly.
Thank you for the kind words. I do put a lot of time into writing and recording each script, and it's nice to hear that the work pays off. Also, thanks for watching!
The pure artistry happening in gaming these days is unreal. From triple A to indie. Seeing all these games back-to-back like this, you realize how good these indie developers have gotten. Good time to be a gamer. Great video!
It's awesome to see isn't it? As a channel that focuses on indie games it's incredible to see the progress the game dev community has made in the recent past!
What a great video.. and it really goes into the right amount of detail needed without being long winded, to justify each game's place here :) Cheers, will sub.
I have many of the games on this list either for the Switch or other platforms, but there were some on this list that I want to get! Thank you for a great video! Like always this channel is my guide for cool Switch games!
Just found your channel. This list I totally agree with (although I'm an OG Mega Man fan I'd have included that collection over X, but I know I'm in the minority). You can tell you thoroughly enjoy each of these games. The cadence in your voice, the knowledge you have of this genre. Tip of the hat, you have a new sub!
Great list!! Splasher, limbo, mega man x legacy collection, new super mario bros u dx, shantae pirates curse, iconoclasts, yokus island express, super meat boy, monster boy cursed kingdom, owlboy, sonic mania plus, axiom verge, guacamelee 2, the messenger, dk tropical freeze, rouge legacy, rayman legends, gris, mark of the ninja, inside, dead cells, steamworld dig 2, hollow knight, shovel knight, celeste!!
I've finished many games of this video and these would be my favourite 10: - Megaman Legacy X Collection (classics) - New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe (fun in coop mode) - Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom (much more difficult than it looks) - Dead Cells (fast violence!) - Sonic Mania Plus (even faster) - Celeste (good story, better gameplay) - Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze (great fun) - Mark of the Ninja (stealth) - Hollow Knight (an unforgettable experience) I also recommend Yoshi's Crafted World, Unruly Heroes and Cuphead. The Switch is amazing to play them all :D
@@ptato3010 I just dont find it very enjoyable. I prefer platformers more akin to Mario. Freedom and playfullness over pixel perfect 'puzzles'. Its well made though, just not my cup of tea. And my expectations were probably set too high due to the hype train.
@@Bajso84 The hype train was a bit much. The puzzles are more apparent when you get into the strawberries and hearts. But I get it, games like these are definitely not for everyone, and I respect your opinion. Freedom and playfulness have their own joy and pixel-perfect games have their own, but both aren't for everyone.
Just wanted to pop by and say AWESOME list. Also, Monster Boy and Owl Boy for some reason are in the "Super Meat Boy" chapter. May want to fix that lol.
This video was brilliant and kudos for your top 3, they truly are some of the best games on any system... I personally would have put Sonic Mania Plus and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze both in the top 5 alongside those 3; but this list was all solid gold. I can see why you wanted to do a top 25.
Before watching the video: yeah Celeste is probably in the top 10 After watching the video: FIRST????? Celeste is really one of the greatest platformers I've ever seen, with its story, soundtrack and level. If you don't have it, go play it *now*.
I would have gotten pretty angry if it wasn't in the top 5, and probably would've written a comment if it wasn't in the top 3 complaining it wasn't in the top 3. I don't know about you, but if I made a list of the best games in general on the switch then Celeste would certainly be somewhere around number 3, just behind games like Breath of the Wild, Hollow Knight, or Smash Ultimate. I mean, it was almost game of the year for a reason, right?
Celeste is such a perfectly designed game. It's so good. I think of it like a puzzle platformer. The puzzle being the route through each screen you've got to work out, and then actually executing it is another thing altogether. You die a lot but you restart from the same screen within milliseconds. It can be hard but it's a completely fair kind of hard. You always know its your fault when you die, and deaths aren't really significant as you just try again immediately. It's like Super Meat Boy but better, more fair and balanced, and a good story and theme if you like that sort of thing (though you can skip it too). I bought it for PC ages ago, and it was one of the first games I bought when I got a switch, to support the developer, but also just because having such a good game to play on the go is amazing. I love this game to bits.
I really hope this dude dint fool others about the game because what he are 2 mistakes which is the "punishing combat" and "loss of geo forever" i am on saying hes a liar, im saying hes an idiot sorry...
I just beated the radiance after nightmare king grim and People are telling me that they are child play compared to the pantheon, so yeah it’s like getting punch in the face
I purchased Celeste and Control on Epic Games (PC) and started Control... I played Control for an hour and started celeste. It was Celeste all over... I couldnt play any other game after getting bit by that.. Such an incredible game and the great feeling you achieve when you progress to a cut scene. A must play game before one dies... :)
DK sucks on value, a 60-dollar 2d platformer is ridiculous, just like Mario Deluxe. Indie platformers are far cheaper AND most of them have rpg elements and interesting loot to make it more interesting. Nintendo platformers are overpriced linear games that offer nothing but running and jumping.
Great list and could not agree more with Celeste on top. Best game i have ever played and superb soundtrack. Dead cells, inside, hollow night, and steam world dig2 all deserve high spots you have given them. Looking forward to monster boy sometime soon

Great list, agreed with pretty much everything but Steamworld before Dead Cells is just laughable : DeadCells' graphics are better and more creative, musics are epic, you can replay it thousands of times, you can use dozens of different strategies, so many combinations weapons/shields + the points you add yo your stats, and it's PURE ADRENALINE YAY !Also the devs listen to the community and improve their game... to me it's a no-brainer (and I really liked Steamworld Dig, don't get me wrong, it's just too short)

Appreciate seeing a mention for Mark of the Ninja...I never see it on anyone's "Top anything" list
For stealth fans, I think Mark of the Ninja might be the best 2D game you can buy, period.
Hollow Knight and Celeste are two of the best games ever that will stand the test of time.
I would've added Ori and the Blind Forest as an honourable mention.
Honorable Mentions:
- Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon
- The Mummy Demastered
- Blaster Master Zero 1 & 2
- Megaman Legacy Collection 1 & 2
- Dust: An Elysian Tail
- Ultra Street Fighter 2
- Azure Striker Gunvolt 1 & 2
- Shantae: Half-Genie Hero
