Learnt GIMP in an hour, designed some wallpapers and created the thumbnail too. 😎 Although technically it is gtk-4.13 and not gtk-4.0 :/
Did some research on the release date, all mentioned 20th March but no news from GNOME as of now. Anyway, here's the video, even if it is early! How's your experience?

Naaa! I didn't mean GIMP's version here. It's a reference to 'gtk-4.0 glory?' written on my thumbnail.
I can't wait for GTK to accept transparency and Blur.
It isn't blocked by GTK though, that's just Gnome's Mutter

When apps can't catch up with the gnome dev cycle, they bump the version anyway with only some translation changes etc.
Gnome OS not updating disks might go to show that disks haven't been really updated since 44
While other distros' ship the version bump for a clean release
How do you make animations like 0:05? What software you use to edit your videos?
Are there any settings to arrange screen brightness? I can't see it on Gnome desktop.
The gnome screenshot tool is beautiful, its so unfortunate that it doesnt give you an option to highlight/draw on the screenshot before saving it. From a workflow perspective, taking a screenshot almost always means you are editing it before you save the screenshot.
Yeah and the recorder records in webm which aren't importable inside Resolve. I don't know much about extensions and containers but having mp4 as output or at least getting the option to change the default output could have been an improvement.
Do we have such a setting already? Did I miss out? Do let me know!
@@ArcTechnologies I agree. Simplicity is great, but when it falls short on functionality for its intended use case - we just end up using another tool and forget that this beautiful app exists.

@@jameslogan364 Freedesktop. It's not exactly a >distro< since it doesn't come with a package manager. You can use it, no one's stopping you, but it's mostly there for testing inside a vm before it hits the big distros like Arch and Tumbleweed
@@jameslogan364 It is not based on anything and it is not meant to be full-fledged Linux distribution (don't run in real hardware). It's there just to show what Gnome dev intended.

Gnome is beautiful
Not too fond of Gnome. ChromeOS already looks better, Wayland compositors already looks better, COSMIC Desktop Rust is coming too this year. They need to step up.
