    Yes that's the point of linux. Provide bareminimum so the user can do whatever they like with the System and not get bogged down by bloat.

      @@95cardboard not everyone is a vagrant to spend so much time and energy just to setup their OS into an usable one, some people have a life and responsibilities and just want to get the work done, and this project is for them

    It's good that Linux is "boring". It means that it's matured. And I know all the kids love having a riced desktop (I did, too). But nowadays I prefer having a stable system I know will work 100% of the time so that I can get my stuff done.

      @@nihalbhamrah4726 It's a term borrowed from the car community (mostly JDM cars) that is just a lot of shiny stuff with no function and can actually make performance worse, in this case the desktop environment. Personally I'm pro-rice, I like the shiny stuff myself.

    If you’re not writing your own bootloader from scratch in order to run Arch, what’s the point? Arch is supposed to be the top-level flex because of how much time you can waste just to get it running.

      @@micsss_ I feel like he was being facetious. Especially since Arch comes with a script to install it and the DE or WM of your choice, along with some basic packages to get you started. You can have a new install up in about 15 minutes, with the guided installer script.

    Unfortunately, this customized linux distro is just focused on esthetic look and some custom components sets. but its not stable at all and breaks often. its not for novice use and need many fixes.

    love the name of the distro, archcraft, love it. started using linux by linux mint, tried every popular linux distro and lately I was using archlinux and I kinda found my abandoned reason of why I like linux. it's the customization, and arch is perfect.

    Been using archcraft for a year now, it's just arch but simply easier and better, the prepare rices are easy to use and configure, and it's also THE distortion I would recommend to an intermediate in Linux that wants to use arch but doesn't have enough knowledge to install it.

      Garuda is better it's Arch Linux out of the box some people will THINK there's bloatware but it's all preconfigured right out of the package been giving it a go for a week it's free and better than Windblows 11 you might want to test drive it before installing using popsicle.

      @@CarlJohnson-cb9xm it is not gnome. It’s running a tiling window manager which is superior to desktop environments like gnome if you have the patience to learn a slightly new way to do things. Kind of like when Apple took the iPhone home button away, exactly like that. Everybody thought that home button was the best way to do things. Very few people miss it. That’s what happens to DEs after you start using some kind of WM. You realize you have found an easier way of doing things.

    Rofi themes is made by the same dev... He's kinda huge in the customization and ricing area.
    Edit: also yo forgot about BSPWM which comes along with openbox.

    Appreciate the video. Thanks for introducing some new fun distros.
    I still think vanilla arch is much superior because of the lack of any features. I can spend hours trying to understand and figure out how the computer actually works.
    I guess the word minimal and lightweight really ticked off a lot of the viewes. You can't say it is lightweight and then show that it has multiple versions of the same applications.
    Still, I loved the production quality and your screen presence. Thanks again.

    This Archcraft is just Arch with and Wm, everything you can do and for free. They show an Arch with several DES and WM available but only have two des and one wm for free the rest you have to pay one by one or buy a premium ISO.

    I am subscribing you, and going to watch some of your videos because you today told me about a repo which tons of rofi themes, which I could use on my NixOS, I never knew something like it exists, only seeing archcraft due to its theming, not to install 😂 as I can't imaging using any distro other than NixOS

      I’ve never tried NixOS I love my basic Arch with a modified XFCE desktop environment. I’ll have to try this OS next time I switch…

    ArchCraft and ArcoLinux just makes Using Arch More Harder, More Abstract........Try Using Arch with Arch-install and More simpler Approach will be "Manjaro" or "Endeavour"......But ArcoLinux or ArchCraft does is to put Layers to Hide the Mechanics which Introduces useless experience with Arch
    Don't try Simpler Arch, Try to Harden the Brain

      I feel the same. I have been using Windows-like user-friendly Ubuntu based distros like Mint and Zorin for a few years now and last week I decided to actually learn how to use the terminal and more about linux in general by installing an Arch-based distro. Arcolinux felt kinda bloated, the interfaces were confusing and I was hating the experience so far, then I installed Endeavour and I'm loving it, it looks so clean and neat!

    Well the github repo you mentioned about Rofi theme is created by the same person who made ArchCraft , so apparently he is using his own made themes.

    Don't buy a Linux it's free switch to Garuda Linux I think they deserve to be the NEXT Arch Linux it's fresh out of the box and it's an everything works distro and works better than even HoloISO I'm kind of addicted to it now over Windows I would not recommend ANY Linux that charges premium it's a SCAM!

      garuda is good looking but I tried it 3 times now and I always broke something in it the only distro that didnt get messed is nixOS but that ting is to complicated for me

      The theming can be changed but it is a bit broken like the system tray that's all the problem i had but now i am using nobara its easier everything is setup and the customisation is incredible

    i wish distros would seperate required memory usage from cached usage, because cached desktops are always faster than ones that pull from storage

    I dunno when ricers will stop pretending that rice, is a distribution ... It's just a theme and a set of dotfiles ... dotfiles for which you actually have to pay cash to get access to it ... are prasanthargan's hyprdots also a distribution? No, they are just dotfiles, same like Archcraft ... except that prasanthargan's dotfiles, come free of charge with customized themes, while the owner of archcraft wants you to pay cash to get access to his dotfiles and only offers Openbox free xD

      Try Fedora 40. I have it installed on my TUF. The memory Management is amazing. Works well. Also try KDE version of Fedora. Fedora dosen't break or cause failure during boot and reach grub. Make sure u update packages frequently. Has Flatpak built-in. At this point using Ubuntu is Lame.

    Looking at the website of archcraft, it seems like it was made by one guy. Did someone with higher knowledge about arch linux and stuff check the code behind this software? Is it safe to use as a daily driver? (I'm new to linux, don't know how to check for myself)

    it's just Linux getting popular and when something gets "pop" it starts looking like macOS or iOS or android. Because it's a distribution that somebody wants to make money with and put an App Store in or a snap store if you like. I'll stick with KALI

    but in my case, when i run some automation tools and let it for 2 3 in active mouse , then os always freeze and i have to restart, it went for various solutions, but didn't work , so i am using kali openbox with 5mib ram and 16gib swap , running better and faster.

    with archcraft i had lots of problems with yay it could not install librewolf or librewolf-bin
