It's crazy how well this film has held up. I first saw it in the lates 80's when I was in grade school. It truly is masterpiece. Shame what happened to the franchise after part III.
The last three movies were awesome though. I mean: Halloween (2018), Halloween kills and Halloween end which were the best sequels since Halloween 2.
@@killuanatsume Agreed!
@@killuanatsumethe last one sucked
@@LetsTalkAboutItPodcast25 I thought it was great.
@@killuanatsume - Michael Myers was barely in it though, that's what made it lame. Too much Cory.
Michael is Mothering more than Laurie I hate to say it 😩
I will never forget the first time I watched this movie. I was around 9 or 10 and had no clue who Michael Myers was. I watched it at my friend's house and was absolutely terrified. The scene where he sits up behind Laurie, my stomach dropped. He's so relentless. Does not stop. That's what scared me so much. The first real horror movie I ever watched and it stuck with me.
John Carpenter really mastered the simple but effective technique!!
The commentary for this is 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼! The way I almost spit out my coffee with “Oh and Annabelle is on her effing dresser!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
If Annabelle had just gotten up instead of sleeping on the dresser she could’ve taken Michael down easily 😩
Excited for Petty Pumpkins this fall season! Ready to get scared and break our backs besties!
Yessssss the content is COMING!
@PettyPumpkins Can't wait! I love you queens 💖
The suburbs are supposed to feel safe. Carpenter and Hill were like "Nope!"
The videos of Britney 😭😂😂
Need her playing Michael in whatever Halloween reboot comes next!!!
I’m older than this movie by a few years. You need to watch another Carpenter classic, “The Fog”. It’s a supernatural horror.
It is 100000% on the list!!!!
I am turning 32 this year and this is the first movie to truly terrify my as a child haha still favorite franchise! I always would think that Michael Myers was behind the couch 😂
My favorite horror movie. Call me a complete weirdo but this is my "cozy" horror movie. This, a warm blanket, and a hot cup of coffee. I need nothing else.
you're a complete weirdo.
Please you guys, react to the new trilogy aswell. Jamie Lee Curtis is the most ICONIC Scream Queen of all times. ❤️🎃
Oscar winner JLC 🥹🖤🎃 can’t wait to praise her more on the channel!!!
Yesss her mom was the original scream queen. Janet Leigh from psycho.
I was 12 when my parents took me to the theater to see this. I absolutely fell in love with this movie and the OG final girl Jamie Lee Curtis and the horror genre especially. The iconic music is my ringtone on my phone. It’s been my ringtone for years. Loved y’alls reactions and commentary to this brilliant little independent horror movie. Hoping y’all will consider watching Good Omens for us GO dorks out here! Thanks y’all!
Oh, the Michael Effect. I saw this as a child and Michael still stalks me in my dreams.
The budget was so small that they could afford to only make the interior of the Myers house in the beginning look good through the lens
I mean, I’m old enough that Dr Loomis is definitely Daddy material. Watch the actor-Donald Pleasance in “Prince of Darkness.” Loomis in a priest frock. Chef’s kiss! Lol
You guys are watching such fun stuff! Excited for this spooky season. :)
We are soooo excited to share all of the content with y’all this October!!! It’s a lot! 🤗🎃🖤😈
You two make this movie hilarious! I'm loving your channel! The little music edits snuck in there crack me up!
The trick is he's not dead but the treat is daddy came home
🤭🎃☕️👀 spilling the Halloween tea!!!
The first HALLOWEEN movie was technically a work-for-hire situation where Irwin Yablans, an indie movie distributor, wanted to release a movie about Babysitter Murders. That plot was his idea -- something scary with young actors. John Carpenter got the job, co-writing a script with Debra Hill, and they created Michael Myers and the rest of the characters, and set the story at Halloween. Yablans loved that Halloween had never been used as a movie title before. John Carpenter wasn't interested in being involved in the sequels about Michael Myers. His next job was directing Kurt Russell as ELVIS for Dick Clark Productions on ABC-TV.
Jamie Lee Curtis: the MOTHER of mothers. 💜 That first scream began a career that shot her all the way to the Oscars.
The pop references throughout the video is just like antidepressant.😂
Don't forget Laurie lived in a different world than Sydney P. She was the blueprint. She didn't have a rolladex of horror scream queens to show her the way and for all she knew Michael was just human and a stab to the neck should've killed him. So she is shutting down from the trauma of finding all her friends dead and having "killed" a man at 17. Also, that tumble down the stairs really messed up Jamie's ankle in real life and so it would have down worse to Laurie so she was running on a broken foot.
Halloween (1978) is one of the most greatest and scariest horror movies of all time. The story, performance's, music, images, astomphere, tension, and cinematography was so suspenseful, frightening, haunting, mysterious, thrilling, intense, eerie, creepy, and spooky 😰😱 which works perfectly for the movie. It was decent. To this day the ending still gives me chills and goosebumps 😰😱 and I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old.😍💯👍😎
Saw this movie when I was 10 Yeats old. My friend had a DVD of it and we watched it at night in the dark. Her parents were out so we had the entire house to ourselves. Her older sister was home but in her room. I was traumatized by this film but I loved it! I still love it and I watch it every Halloween. Thank you for reacting to it. Love you guys. ❤❤❤❤😉
The Halloween Extended Cut is the best version.
As someone whose worn a Myers mask, he actually is breathing through the nose hehe, I did it in my mask and my friend heard it in the other room 😂 I was so suprised
Loved this rewatch and thank you for pointing out so many things I have never caught before! This movie is iconic. I met Jamie Lee Curtis in California about 15 years ago and she’s as amazing in person as you’d expect!!!!
LOL @17:58 that's my buddy Mick Meece... He made that gif and it's fucking awesome that it went viral.... The mask is a "warlock" by cemetery gate productions (a bootleg mask made by an independent 'artist' so not really legal lol)
Halloween (1978) has one of the most greatest, iconic, and memorable endings in horror cinema as of today it still gives me chills and goosebumps as I sit back in complete shock as I'm trying to comprehend what just happened. 😍💯👍😎😰😱
Hobo Michael Myers versus Jason Voorhees with hair. Place your bets.
I would like to see an Annabelle Vs. Michael movie.
My all time favorite. Such a classic
Halloween (1978) has one of the most greatest, iconic, memorable, and scariest opening scenes in horror cinema as it rely on spookiness and eeriness as those are the main key elements and themes as it was just constructed perfectly from the very beginning to the end due to the works of director John Carpenter as of today it still gives me chills and goosebumps. It never gets old.😍💯👍😎😏😰😱
The DBD Michael stays on my mind a lot, that one hits a little different. Same with Scream, tbh, the selfie killshot...
Now you gotta check out Halloween II (1981). It continues on the same night, right after this one. This is one of the greatest films of all time, it's in the congressional library's film registry board. It's a list of films deemed "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant" that are recommended for preservation by those holding the best elements for that film, be it motion picture studios, the Library of Congress and other archives, or filmmakers. Around 850-860 films on that list, out of millions made.
Carpenter wrote Myers to be the actual boogeyman. He said he's a human, but he has a supernatural edge. He was only gonna do this one film, and the ending was supposed to scare people as it implies that you can't kill the boogeyman, with them showing all the places he's been in the movie, and his breathing getting heavier. It suggests that he can be everywhere, and nowhere. Another fun fact is that the movie cost $325,000, half of it went to the camera and lenses.
The Loomis speech in the Myers house about how he has the darkest eyes, the devil's eyes was true. John Carpenter said his class like 10-12 years before the movie went to a field trip to a mental hospital in Kentucky. He says he met a boy around 11 or 12 who had black, cold yes with no emotion, or soul behind them. He said as soon as he looked the boy in his eyes he got goosebumps and it was maybe the most scared he has ever been, also just like Myers he never talked.
She opened the window to check out what was making the noise from roof, She didnt notice Michael jumping on the car roof, I have done that plenty of times, mostly been small animals like birds, cats and tree branches..
OMG, I love you guys. Best reaction videos!
Thank you!!!! We appreciate that so much 🤗
Starting the season off fright. 🎃
It’s the only way!
When they were talking about ripping clothes off in the van, I think the actor was supposed to say Annie, but accidentally said Lindsey instead.
If you look at it in a basic concept, boi just wanted to say "heyy sista, whats poppin'" the whole franchise.
I also love talking about iconic 70s/80s horror with mom because mom can sip & tell all the tea of how it felt the first time watching these films. So many guys would try to be scary with knives at house parties after this came out, looking for a laugh and a kiss 😂
I loved Anne's dad. Did you notice he smokes a tobacco pipe? The type I go for among other classic trappings
Halloween (1978) is absolutely and positivity such a true blue ultimate masterpiece in horror cinema. John Carpenter directed a classic that will be in our hearts forever. It never gets old. The movie will be loved and cherished for many generations to come.😍💯👍😎
I can't stop laughing
Halloween theme song always SLAPS!!!🎶
Literally impossible not to shake your ass when it plays 😭
Just our in my Halloween 🎃 shirt for this haha! Ready for Halloween! 3 months away! The holidays are upon us! Haha
John Carpenter is such a outstanding and incredible director on so many levels.☺️ Halloween (1978) is one of his best and finest work in cinema.😍😎💯👍
Yessssss keep these videos coming ❤❤❤❤❤
Ohhhh this is just the beginning!
Laurie is my favourite final girl. Michael is so creepy. Love Dr Loomis xx
Icons and legends only in this movie!
This is a must watch for Halloween (obviously). 🎃🔪
You guys need to react to the two scary godmother movies! Childhood memories surround those films!!
You guys should watch all the Halloween movies! That would be amazing. Watching the queen of scary movies
We definitely are doing some this year and will work our way through them in the future! We love them 🤗
Wes and Chey, I just want to say that I think you both are ICONS! I also want to know which timeline of Halloween DO YOU prefer?? 1,2, H20? 1-3? 1,2,4-6? 1-Halloween Reboot Sequels?
that into was everything
Also let's watch all of them Pumpkins.
3:20 Friday The 13th Part 3 has a funky dance theme lol, It would totally work
Britney clips ❤ are iconic
She would end Michael so quick!
36:45 hahaha Sidney would never
Those muttonchops were chopping! 🤣 *My Dad had those from like ‘74-‘79.
Great reaction! It is very interesting to see your reaction to the film Robocop 1987. This is a cool movie 👍🔥🦾
Also laurie and Annie were smoking a joint so they were kinda high during the drive 🤣
Greetings from Chicago everyone ✌️❤️😁❤️
Fighting Micheal Meyers close to, 45 to 50 years!!
I saw this movie at far too young an age, back when it was a new movie. It terrified me. I think this movie is one of the reasons I still have a phobia of uncovered windows at night. My inner child is still freaked out that there's a murderous psycho lurking just outside my range of sight, waiting for the moment to slaughter me. As soon as the sun starts to hit the horizon, my blinds and curtains are SHUT, sir. 😂
Also, every parent in Haddonfield is gone on Halloween night? Like, sorry kid, I got a ... thing ... I have to do. But here's a high and horny teenage girl to defend you from the supernaturally strong and invincible boogeyman. Happy Halloween! Try not to die!
No shade to Queen Strode, but when I find my recently murdered friend on the bed in a dark house, I'm gonna dip. I'm not staying long enough to find two more murdered friends. I'mma nope right tf outta there at the first sight of Annie. But yeah, I'm totally Team Laurie. Bad decisions notwithstanding.
Great reaction to a golden classic! I have to know, what kind of tea do y’all drink?!
Thank you!! 🤗🤗 and our favorite during the fall season is Celestial Seasonings “Caramel Apple Dream” it is PERFECT!!! Do you have a fav?!

Wes honey where did u get your orange flannel I love it
They named Billy Loomis from Scream after Dr Loomis and it is shown that in the Scream universe people watch Halloween the movie and in the Halloween universe people watch the Scream movies.
Love this crossover!!
@@PettyPumpkins - any plans on reacting to A Nightmare On Elm Street?
Also, you can buy the Laurie strode house now. It is up on the market. I think it’s going for a cool $1.8 million.
We love you Sidney Prescott
Yo y’all are fucking hilarious
wes you look so very good in the blonde, I love it! 😊
Daddy Donald 😭😭😭😭😭
Am I tripping? I’m almost 100% sure I saw this a few months ago?
yes same
We posted on our community last night but a few of our old videos have strikes for different reasons so we are re-editing and reuploading for spooky szn! 🎃 plenty of new stuff coming though of course!
@@PettyPumpkins oh. That’s ight i was just wondering
Honestly.....you guys need to stop thinking like Sidney Prescott while watching this movie, Times were different back then, I was born in mid 80s and we didnt lock our doors or windows, sometimes not even closing them......Didnt even lock our bikes when we went inside the store to buy candy, started closing and locking doors 94-ish......as for Laurie's "mistakes", they werent mistakes imho, anyone (like Laurie) would've been in panic mode and not thinking straight, also dropping the knives.....anyone would've done that after thinking they have killed another human
ARE Y'ALL BOPPING TO THE THEME MUSIC WHILE LAURIE IS TRAPPED IN THE CLOSET??????????/ LMMFAO
Why did Bob say they were going to rip off Lyndsey's clothes? Isn't Lyndsey the little girl??
Hey... Sydney Prescott walked because laurie strode ran.... There were no slashers before Lorrie battled Micheal so she had no reference point whereas Sydney had over a decade of movies to warn her what to do
I absolutely love love love these Halloween movies although if you watch them in succession, part three isn’t the best. LOL. My favorite set of remakes is probably Rob Zombie’s remakes of Halloween one and two. Please please cover these. I think y’all will thoroughly enjoy them.
That intro though! 🫰 ❤
The song is truly such a bop!!
The song is truly such a bop!!
Bob's death is of course nonsense as the blade, though long, still isn't long enough to go through him and then go enough into the wall to hold him up!🙄🎩
She literally could have had a whole career of like just this character and still been a legendary icon of horror forever. And then she went and became a legendary icon of almost every other genre too. Ugh. The queeeeeen!
Oscar WINNER!!!! Queen of acting!
We love you Lori
It's not like Laurie watched Halloween. lol
Pleas react to the goosebumps movies like from. 2015 I think and the 2nd one
Please tell me u guys r gonna watch the Rob Zombie version of Halloween and H2
I think we need to be concerned about Michael’s social skills…this is not the way to make friends Michael🤨
Please do ALL the 'weens!
