Fun Fact: There was a written ending where Mia is walking down a road and a driver stops to pick her up. The driver is revealed to be Ash from the original trilogy. Mia then turns and Ash says "Groovy". But instead, we get this one and Ash appears at the end credits saying his iconic line.
The ending where she gets picked up is still there. It's in threUnrated Cut, which they watched, but it's treated as a mid credits scene. However, Sam Raimi thought it didn't make sense for Ash to randomly be there, so it was changed to a regular old man.

Jane Levy is so underrated. She was amazing in this and Don't Breathe. She should get more high profile horror roles
my head cannon is that david and eric are bitter exes and eric is upset that david's new girlfriend is just him as a female (they have the same hair, wear very similar etc.) cause it was easier to date a girl instead of him and that's why david was absent this whole time, SHAME. Seriously they share the most tender moments in the movie and have a lot of chemistry

right I always got the vibe Eric was in love with David and that’s why he was so bitter David pretty much abandoned the 3 of them.
Oh fully, the tension was more palpabale between them.

Two things that I didn’t expect & enjoyed a lot!
- the a-hole who caused this owned up to it fairly quickly
- the brother DOES save his sister, and she then tries (but fails) to save him, but at least beats the main demon
Jane Levy annihilated this role - this was the BEST time I had in theatres. Glad to see you watching this. "Loving him was red" had me dying in laughter.
If we're comparing how prolific in popular culture a series is VS how many duds there are in a horror franchises history I would consider the evil dead to be TRULY underrated. I don't think I've ever had a bad time with any film in this saga and they're all somehow the same yet wildly different and also never fail to entertain. I feel like for a lot of people Evil Dead is like that one section on the menu you always glance at but never order and then you order it once, fall in love, and order every other dish in that section and all of it is the same base yet unique and delicious every time.
i love the theory that eric and david were lovers before he left, and that whole rancor and eric telling david to run and hide because he's good at it, like yeah, just confirms for me

On top of everything else this movie does brilliantly, I also really love that the glasses dude who STUPIDLY reads aloud from the book gets properly punished for unleashing the evil when there was EVERY warning not to do it. Like, he spends the rest of the movie just getting absolutely FUCKED in every gruesome way imaginable, paying for his stupidity, and it's perfect:
- Smashes his back on the toilet
- Stabbed in the shoulder with a mirror shard
- Stabbed repeatedly in the face and eyes with a needle
- Forced to brutally kill his girlfriend
- Shot a bunch with a nail gun
- Gets his hand and arm obliterated with a crowbar
- Gets stabbed and slashed by a boxcutter/razor
- Bleeds out and becomes the devil's bitch
- Gets incinerated
Don't forget he also got a papercut on the necromicon
I lose it everytime I hear Deadite Mia say “Come down here pretty boy” it’s that perfect horrifying extraness after everything else

I saw this in theaters at the puny age of 12 and the scene in the woods sent me into a full blown, screaming panic attack so I didn’t get to see the rest 🫶🏻 then I watched it at 15 and was fine but as an adult it’s one of my faves!!!😭

Apparently, there is 3 evil dead books, the director for evil dead rise said he was trying to connect the new movie the old ones, also said that all 3 books are in army of darkness but just disguise themselves as the same book to further confuse ash, even though originally they were meant to be decoys and traps. with that he wishes to furthur expand the world and mabye one day the books reunite
I remember seeing this in theater in 2013. Such a wild and fun time! I’ll never forget that reaction to Mia and the chainsaw! I need Mia to come back for a future installment!

I do gotta say, I've loved everything Jane Levy has been in, there was a teen movie in the late 2000s don't remember the name but that one, Evil Dead (2013), Monster Trucks (2016), Don't Breathe, (2016). But Jane Levy went through so much shit during production of this film, when she crashed into the lake and got out and swam through all that mosh, that was real, also crawling through that dirt tunnel that led into the shed, also all that fake blood rain at the end, all that was really Jane. God I love her.

This is legit the scariest movie i've seen in ages, i love horror but when i first watched it back in the day i legit had to put it down xD
I am a veteran watcher of horror films. However the first time I saw Evil Dead 2013 it stunned me.
Damn they took it to top level. Serious , atmospheric , gory so much that makes you sick , body horror to upper levels . That fuckin' movie damn. It's so twisted , and darker even game of thrones gory parts were a chimpantzee from IKEA. Terrifying movie. That is really evil dead is. And credits to the amazing composer of the film , Roque Banos , for his terrifying soundtrack. He succeded Joseph Lo Duca amazingly.
Mama Mia was dreadfull! Very terrifying and malicious bloodthirsty sadistic deadite. If you love gory , body horror , sadistic films and demonic paranormal malignant, this is your film.
That blood river vomiting and the scream that gives destruction in cabin are so damn well depicted . Fede Alvarez directed it brilliantly.

It was awesum.
I get why some ppl might not like it, but...
I am a fan, since the 80s and I loved Evil Dead Rise. It is a film made for the big screen, so do not pass the chance to see it in theater... Because of the dolby surround sound. It's Awesum!
