what gets me really excited about the sequel is that in the first movie which is the one everyone’s watching now m3gans only goal was to protect cady everything she did was for cady she never was beyond pissed she always seemed like she kept her cool and calculated everything she did
but since cady betrayed her, in the second movie she’ll be fueled with rage and i like to think at that point she’ll have no limits or boundaries she’ll literally go on a rampage

I could not keep a straight face in the theaters when she sang Titanium out of no where😂. She gave exactly what I wanted just a creepy doll with lots of personality and I can’t wait for the sequel in January 2025

Watching this in theaters was like a fever dream. It was amazing
I just imagine the robot doll getting really mad after the tenth time. "FLUSH THE DAMN TOILET OR I'M FLUSHING YOUR HEAD IN IT!". Also the robot is somehow a better parent than 90% of parents. I was forced to eat foods I hated as a kid and it messed me up for years to the point I had a phobia of choking on food because it'd make me gag when it was forced down me. Teaching kids that it's good for you is fine but give them a choice instead of forcing your will upon them because you think you know best.

I watched this in theaters and it had me dying of laughter with my family.
When I first heard her say "Couldn't sleep, occupational hazard" I thought it was hilarious! 😂 Then the words "It's insane, right?!" And for her to look at the ear and throw it carelessly to the side like the kid did to her shoe was even funnier!

Gemma just changing the subject when M3gan asked about dying and the way M3gan was watching a butterfly then became momentarily unresponsive when Cady shouted "You're dead!" make me think that M3gan was experiencing a form of existential anxiety that nobody was helping her to understand or resolve. Between that and having to learn on her own by researching human history and current events with no ethical or philosophical guidance, it's understandable that she would turn into an amoral killer.
Most people think the point of Frankenstein is that there are things humans shouldn't meddle in. This is because that is the point of the MOVIE. The BOOK OTOH has a different point. The big mistake Dr Frankenstien makes is NOT making the monster, it is ABANDONING the monster. In the book when the doctor sees the monster has weird eyes he cuts and runs. The monster is left to try to survive and learn about humans on his own. This goes very badly and THAT is what leads to the monster coming back to destroy the doctor's life. These facts are what went through my mind looking at Megan. THIS scientist made the same mistake. Oh I forgot to put parental control protocols on it, oh let's not talk about death and tell it "everybody dies" but not "killing is WRONG." She didn't take 5 seconds to even consider trying to teach it right from wrong and yet let it raise a child. Because the assistant was right. Gemma got Megan to raise the child for her. Sure program "use a coaster" but don't program "murder is wrong." Are you a MORON? I can only imagine the bio mom had enough time mothering the child that the child had a moral compass because if she'd been a little younger and hadn't learned that already, then Gemma would have been up a creak because the child would have listened to Megan and helped kill Gemma.

@@jacquelinecallejas1390 Tess did imply though that all that "murder is wrong" stuff was part of Megan's core programming. Frankly, I think the "substitute parent" argument is a bad one. Cady HAD 2 parents before. Now suddenly one is supposed to be able to do everything? No! Send in the AI to work as a parent. She'd probably be a better one than any human ever would be. The problem is humans get so bent out of shape about other humans being attached to non-human entities or even things. They have this perverse idea that it's fine for a human to be attached to another human, one that can betray them or just suddenly die one day, but heaven forbid someone become attached to something that won't ever hurt them or leave them.
A lot of people seem to think this is a "danger of technology" parable movie, but I think that's just the shallow facade put up over the real message of the movie. The real message is in the music.
@@Kaylakaze Part of parenting is teaching a child right from wrong. Megan did not understand right from wrong so there was no way for her to teach it. She can't effectively parent. Other things she didn't understand is respect. When Cady disrespected her guardian Megan supported it. Another big mistake (I forgot her name) the guardian made was programming Megan to protect Cady from EMOTIONAL harm. That is too complicated for an AI to understand that SOME kinds of emotional pain are necessary. Like Gemma? said later she lost her parents. That is SUPPOSED to hurt. Pooh just remembered a short story I read called With Folded Hands. Guy invents robots to "protect " people. Robots won't let you murder or go to war. He thinks he's saved humanity. Then realizes robots won't let people drive there's a chance you'll crash. Robots won't let you do sports you could get hurt. Before he realizes the robots who make more of themselves have taken over and won't let people do ANYTHING because there MIGHT be harm done to people by virtually any and all activities.
@@jacquelinecallejas1390 You're assuming ANY human knows right from wrong and can teach it to their children. There's a reason Ethical Philosophy exists. The majority of the time, humans "behave" out of fear, not out of moral obligation.
Cady had absolutely no reason to respect Gemma because Gemma had not shown any respect for her. I don't know why you claim Megan "supported" it. Megan wasn't supposed to interfere in conversations between Gemma and Cady. The only time she did was when Gemma was using physical violence against Cady, and even then, Megan showed restraint.
I'm not implying Megan was programmed perfectly, but neither are parents. They learn, just like Gemma did. Megan is capable of learning much more efficiently than any parent, but wasn't given the chance.
Maybe if the therapist hadn't been such a shitty person, she would have understood that it was best to include Megan in sessions with Cady and help Megan understand what Cady needed, especially since Gemma EXPLICITLY restricted Megan from being able to help Cady deal with her parents' deaths.
Frankly, I think there's a MUCH better movie beneath the surface of M3gan that could have been told if it hadn't been going for the horror/dark comedy/thriller angle.
Maybe I'll write a fan fiction, diverging the story from the dog attack.
M3GAN is by far the best dressed "horror doll" and honestly that's all I really care about.

Megan is one of the greatest horror movies I seen this year. It was something new, fresh, unique, inventive, stylish, cool, edgy, hip, and updated as they took the whole " Girl's Best Friend" concept and theme to a another level as it was just constructed perfectly from the very beginning to the end. Megan is absolutely and positivity a great addition in the horror genre as she will make such a excellent horror icon. It was such a fun rollercoaster thrill ride as it kept you on the edge of your seat. You have a fun time with this movie. It was decent. 😍😎👍💯

If only they treated Megan like an actual person. By logic of scifi, an AI that learns and emulates emotions and feelings exactly like a human is considered human. Megan is a person and they did nothing but look at her as a thing that shouldn't do the good she was doing, nor did they teach her right from wrong. She was left alone the learn about the cruel world and how horrible humans are and that horrible people must die to keep people she loves safe as ordered by Gemma. If only they spent more time with Megan but the money was in the way.
Finally, someone gets it! I was very sympathetic towards Megan the entire movie. She was always doing her best and everyone just treated her like a toy and in the end her family betrayed her.
Omg, yes exactly my thoughts 100% She was doing her best, nobody spent time to teach her some elemental boundaries so she put protection, as per Gemma's request, and efficiency to the maximum. And first it's Gemma, then Cady who betrayed her.

I watched the movie last night and I swear I was already cracking up thinking about the hilarious commentary y'all would have about it.
Found this as a rec on someone else's M3GAN reaction and I gotta say... best reaction I've seen to this movie, hands down. I was laughing so goddamn hard at this! "Drag that bitch!" Holy crap. I had tears in my eyes. First of all, right away I knew you were my kind of horror people when you started from a place of understanding that the fun is in stanning the killer (well, usually). Second, as a cishet white American man, the absolute last person I want to see reacting to anything is someone like me, and this is a whole new perspective into horror I had yet to stumble upon until now, oddly. I will be here when you guys do M3GAN 2, for sure. Or will it be MEG4N?
M3gan will win. Chucky becomes human the longer he is the good guy doll, and in the end, he is just another normal person and we saw how M3gan took down grown men. As for Annabelle, she is only a conduit for a spirit so she cannot move on her own, and the spirit that is latched onto the doll can’t possess M3gan since she has no soul, so M3gan is immune to the demon spirit.. so M3gan wins

He's alright, i like m3gan more personally but then I am biased towards killer dolls and the original silent supernatural slashers like Michael and of course Chucky haha 😄 I wonder if they'll do a Chucky vs M3gan crossover. Only thing that scares me about that is lowballing Chucky as we've seen while she's strong Chucky isnaoso strong having a human man's power in a doll, the chest hole punch feat and of course magic which is something I don't think she'd have an answer for.
She has thr durability but she does have weaknesses like the water, her face brain, etc Chuckys smaller but I think a lot of people underestimate what he can do you know? Would be cool to see!

The cast,crew and everyone who made this movie possible are so flipping amazingly talented. This is the first ever horror movie I actually watched. I get scared way too easily so I don’t care for horror films. But when I saw the trailer for this movie I was like “okay yeah no I’m definitely gonna be seeing this.” I didn’t think there was going to be as many m**der scenes as there was. Definitely 10/10. Also love that Megan was played by two different people and that the RUclipsr/singer Jenna Davis did her voice. I’m excited that they’re going to make another one I feel like Megan isn’t actually fully gone yet. 👀 Also apparently Megan was originally not gonna sing but Jenna and the writers or director or whoever it was talked about adding it in for her personality or something. Don’t remember the exact words she said in her vid but it was something along those lines.

Loved this movie! It was so much fun and funny. It didn't take itself so seriously but also had some cool and interesting things to say about technology. Megan is a new horror icon and we cant wait to see her return. I hope its a good story and makes sense to bring her back. Maybe when that coworker had her files, he sent them out before he was killed. The sequel is a new company making her and the Megan who was in the Elise home device uploads herself into the new doll or something haha.
M3gan slays every time she sings and dances. A doll may be creepy but can you imagine a life-size Barbie doll gone rogue? That's exactly what I wish happens in the sequel where she transfers her data into a gorgeous humanoid. Every Barbie needs a Ken so she makes Bruce her new Ken doll and they mass market their own machinery to ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive, E-lim-i-nate the negative and latch on to the affirmative. Don't mess with In-between, You got to spread joy up to the maximum, Bring gloom down to the minimum and have faith, or pandemonium, Liable to walk upon the scene and change the world.
People within the movie {AND SOME REACTORS!} are pretty harsh about Gemma doing a terrible job as a parent. But, did she?
She lost her sister and became a mom in one devastating instant.
When she is working on the project than can make or break her job and Cady comes in, what does she do? She DROPS what she is doing and IMMEDIATELY makes Cady the center of her attention. She complements her HORRIBLY UGLY drawing. She shows her how Bruce works and breaks down all the cool sensors that allow him to interact with his environment.
As far as I am concerned, that therapist can frack right off.
The ONE moment she is NOT doing her best is not even in front of Cady. When she is arguing with the interfering co-worker in the lab, she does blurt out that Cady is not her daughter. But, is that really a dig at Cady, or is she just overwhelmed by suddenly going from "cool aunt" to mom? She CLEARLY loves Cady. When they take M-Three-Gan to the lab for repairs, her talk with Cady is sincere and believable. She HAS realized that little girl IS the most important thing in her life. The presentation means NOTHING now. Cady is not the most important thing in her world, she IS her world now.
EDIT TO ADD: Even though Cady now had toys in her room, she OPENED a collectible to play with Cady when the bitchapist made a big deal of every little "issue" when it had literally been DAYS since all this fell on Gemma. Also, note how devastated Gemma obviously felt at the very idea of the dad's parents not only taking Cady away, but taking her away across the country.
But, I do have to admit. Fixing the fence would have solved a couple of issues. And, that furry monster was far away from a Good Boy. I wish we could have enjoyed watching M-Three-Gan give him what he deserved for mauling a child.

Also, I think this was the very first Blumhouse horror film to get an early digital release due to popular demand (2 1/2 weeks since its release). People flooded their IG and Twitter dm's to release it on RUclips and they did. It goes to show just how popular this movie was for being the first horror film release of 2023.

I never go to the theatre for horror movies nor do I like killer doll movies usually but I loved this movie and I went to see it at the theatre. Was worth it 100%. Loved every minute of it. Watched the movie on my laptop a couple times this weekend and loved it even more. Very entertaining and very fun movie. Creepy and funny. Honestly, one of my favourite movies now. Such a good movie. Looking forward to watching it again.
This was a welcomed surprise when I saw it in theaters.
The moment that got me was the 10 minutes from when AFTER Megan got Dewey leading to the heartfelt sweet moment where Katie opens up to M3gan about her mom and then M3gan out of nowhere singing like a Disney princess.....
It was so stupid and it had NO business in making me grow from horrified, misty eyed to suddenly laughing to how in those 10 minutes just how obsured yet brilliant it was.

I thought the two young girls who played Cady and M3GAN acted brilliantly. And the physical athleticism of the M3GAN actress was stunning. I used to be my county's Under-16 cross-country, mile and 1,500 metre champion, and I regularly hit the gym, but I was never able to stand straight up from supine without using my arms, as she does in the Brandon scene, and the mid-air somersault she does in the dance scene was also beyond me. Those shots are not CG. The only CG was M3GAN's face.

This is supposed to take place in Washington State, but was filmed in New Zealand. This is especially evident in the establishing shots of the residence showing a U.S. like neighborhood, but the flora not reflecting that at all of Western WA.
I went to see it January 8th and I saw it again. Then I seen it 5 times and I absolutely love this movie. ❤ ❤This is a movie that is so more damn good, you have to love the character herself for being, a bit scary, funny and can touch your heart (to make you cry). Unlike most horror icons, M3gan is the perfect example of balancing her personality and the movie (and never tries too hard to be over the top like Chucky and Freddy Krueger or being underrated like Candyman). And the fact that this is a PG 13 which is rare for a killer doll film (normally they would be rated R), but M3gan breaks this tradition and it feel more ground breaking for the horror/sci fi film. It's not all about drugs, sex, gore or vulgar language that most horror flick shouldn't be, it's about balancing the story that makes it work. This mostly was enjoyable to say the least, it was more of a thriller. I just love the character M3gan to bits (hope it's not too late to make her feel good in the sequel to give her a better protocol and to fix an exploding circuit). It's not a scary movie, but M3gan was a cinnamon roll who carried the film until the very end.
I saw this alone the first time. It was soooo much better with you two❣️
