since they are unlikely to shed in brumation, would you ever consider 'painting' some of the wild types, or those with very similar patterns with animal safe paint to make identifying easier for everyone when it's time to wake up?

I was actually wondering how you'd know who was who if you had the same/similar morphs in the same bin. In my head I was like, "they'll probably take a pic of each snake with their tag..." and the thought barely finished rolling across the scrolling ticker in my brain when it was explained that's exactly the process used. 😂😂 I also recognized Charlotte immediately, and knew Emily would too since she's mom's favorite of allll the snakes! 😜😍💚 Good night, noodles! For hognoses, consider brumating them in a mix of coco coir and sand next year! When it’s just a little bit wet it keeps them hydrated and they don’t lose water weight if done correctly :) this substrate mimics the stuff they’d brumate in the wild with
@@eileenmcdonald1599 there’s always something new to learn! I learned this from a hognose specialist who has been breeding them for decades. He’s tried so many different methods of brumation and it turns out the best way is the one that mimics the wild. I never questioned Emily’s intelligence!

You guys really help people with learning and you've conquered fears well helped other people conquer fears and it's helped me through a situation I had in elementary which I'm not going to go into specifics but let's say my best friend turned my whole grade against me and that had a very hard effect on my rest of the months we had in sixth grade so watching you really helped and me and my cousins and my sister we want to open a animal business with reptiles horses butt ever animals that we me and one of my cousins study in the vet school so we can be helpful and treat them if necessary if we can't take them to the vet so you've really made our dream like we can do it
Eons ago, I was watching your channel but my wife was kinda icked by the whole thing. Until I called her over to see a cool snake you were showing. The water bowl was big, green, and square. You picked up the bowl and there was the snake, in a perfect square from the underside of the bowl. My wife fell in love with snakes just from that. It made snakes less freaky for her. We've talked about getting some garter snakes or perhaps a ball python but I'm not pushing. *I* want a uromastyx or banana/rhino iguana since I'd rather go herbivore.
Eventually...id like to get a starter snake from Snake Discovery..id like a hognose (color/morph doesnt mater) at first since they're super cute and derpy

Some camera name ideas that came to mind at 3:40am: Sssnapshot (Sssnappy/snappy for short), Shutterbugzilla, Shuttersarous/Focusaurus Rex, Snaparaptor. Congrats on the new camera upgrade!!! I have a Sony A7IV myself and I LOVE it.
It's ok, it just means some of your hogs are just bi. Although if it were the ones that didn't fertilize any eggs, it might explain a few things. Although not great for being in a breeding program, there's nothing wrong with being attracted to snakes with the same equipment that they have ^-^. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

I did notice a difference in the cameras, the colour saturation on the new camera is much better balanced in my opinion (although arguably thats typically more of a settings/post production thing, I'm assuming you guys just use auto mode for ease of use so I'd call it an improvement)
I always love this video when it comes out though this year it made me a little sad cause no brad or omnomlette. Very happy to see everyone else is doing well
It's a shame that both Brad and Omnomlete have passed away, but they didn't die in vain. Brad had multiple daughters and at least one son with Janet, who are now all breeding size, and though I am not sure if the female from her and Peanut that was held back is big enough to breed yet, their son is (I saw his card in the fridge in this video; his name is Fusilli now :3). And Omnomlete always had one baby held back in every one of her clutches as far as I know, even her last one. Mitosis, one of Omnomlete's oldest daughters, is now a mother herself, and has produced a baby in her first clutch that was held back. And she inherited her mom's personality of doing crazy things with eggs JUST to get food by laying (thankfully) fertile eggs in the winter. I'm assuming that she DID lock up with Jester, but she secretly retained his sperm for later use. And yes, this does mean that Mitosis will not breed this year, but her younger and sassier superconda sister almost certainly will. May Omnomlete's and Brad's (as well as Janet's and Peanut's, they're dead too) legacies live on!

You should give a Tour of EVERY ANIMAL (2-4 parts) in like a couple videos,maybe say their genes,and handle them (if you can) I’d love to see all the animals!

I have been following you since you started it is a really funny story on how we got my he was a corn snake who showed up in my brothers shoe so we put him in a tank on out 120 gallon fish tank that we had laying around and I learned how to care for him from watching your videos 4 years later he is doing great ❤❤❤
It's funny, I feel like Snake Discovery could have bought a new camera a while ago, and it would have been justified after buttons started falling off, or the battery... Hahahah. But I respect keeping it going while the recordings . More money for the reptiles I guess! Playing with the perspectives of both cameras was pretty trippy lol
When putting them in the refrigerator for brumation is it better to put them into a refrigerator which is already down to temperature or put them in and then turn the refrigerator on so they cool down at a slower rate? I noticed in the video you turned the refrigerator on first and was wondering why you did it in that order.

You should give a Tour of EVERY ANIMAL (2-4 parts) in like a couple videos,maybe say their genes,and handle them (if you can) I’d love to see all the animals!

I have been following you since you started it is a really funny story on how we got my he was a corn snake who showed up in my brothers shoe so we put him in a tank on out 120 gallon fish tank that we had laying around and I learned how to care for him from watching your videos 4 years later he is doing great ❤❤❤

It's funny, I feel like Snake Discovery could have bought a new camera a while ago, and it would have been justified after buttons started falling off, or the battery... Hahahah. But I respect keeping it going while the recordings . More money for the reptiles I guess!

When putting them in the refrigerator for brumation is it better to put them into a refrigerator which is already down to temperature or put them in and then turn the refrigerator on so they cool down at a slower rate? I noticed in the video you turned the refrigerator on first and was wondering why you did it in that order.
