It's not looking good. Well over half the time is gone and we've barely squeaked past 40%. And given that the biggest jump in backers is usually right at the start, I'm not sure this will even get funded, much less actually hit any stretch goals.
It's too bad that they don't advertise more or better to get the backers needed. Hell if RUclips would have been pushing ads for it as much as Raid Shadow legends it would be already fully funded and in the works. This is the first I'm hearing of it and it's only a day or so left. But that's the story of my life, I always find out about the coolest stuff that intrigues me the most and I'm always a day late or s dollar short.
Thank you for playing our game and getting the word out! It's a great option for a slightly less rigorous skirmish gaming setting. Even my non war gaming friends like to play, it's like a board game! :)
This is the game that got me into Tabletop Gaming and the Hobby in general. Heroscape is an absolutely wonderful game. Fun amd fast, all the while being deep enough to scratch the itch for some Tactical wargamming goodness. This is just a small dabble into the game itself. Terrain, Height Advantage, synergies, scenario ruled, etc., all make the game so much deeper. Also, all the old Heroscape stuff works with the new stuff without issue. It's worth every penny to get into this.
I've played Heroscape since I was eight years old and I can say with confidence that it is the best tabletop game I've ever played. The stuff in this video is just a fraction of what full Heroscape provides. For terrain, there are trees, ruins, lava, glaciers, entire modular castles on the board. The average board will generally be a bit larger than this but significantly more interesting, more terrain elevation and obstacles like trees or ruins across the map. The figures are also much more diverse in proper Heroscape. You're not locked into factions or even genres like other games, you can use any mix of fantasy, sci-fi, even historical figures in your list. Of course some figures will be designed to work better with each other, but the average Heroscape army will have elves, samurai, cyborgs, a dragon, and the 4th Massachusetts Line fighting together. The best part is that if you want to make custom rules for non-Heroscape figures, literally anything will fit. Warhammer, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Bolt Action, anything you can make rules for works in Heroscape. I seriously cannot recommend this game enough, I'm hoping for a miracle to get it funded.
Thanks for the review! Nice to see some of the new sculptures In Action. Also setting up the new scenario. I am an old school Heroscaper! As well as AOA backer.
This is totally worth getting for wargamers looking for something a little less rules heavy, but with all the fun brawling and tactical strategy intact.
It’s a great game! I enjoy it as much as 40K. Great tactical wargame. Diverse units and an amazing interlocking terrain system. Also, it has the benefit of being easy to teach so you can get friends into a game quickly.
Got a ton of Heroscape back in the day to try and get my little brothers into tabletop gaming. Didn't work but they still love and play Heroscape all these years later. We already backed and are hoping we can get to the 8k needed for a release. I have been playing warhammer and tons of other minis game for over 20 years and can say Heroscape is worth it. Great fun and simple enough for kids around 7+. Really want this campaign to meet it's goal.
12 years ago, Heroscape was discontinued. I remember getting so into Heroscape that I covinced others to play as well. There was no miniwargaming community in my hometown, so Heroscape was the best we had without going two towns over for other games. Got so into the game that I even convinced my family to get Heroscape stuff for me for lik 5 years in a row. So glad to see it coming back.
Man, I remember as a kid, when this game first came out, I asked mom if she'd get it for me for Christmas. She did, and I actually spoiled it cause I had found the hiding spot she had for gifts. I've always loved this game, I enjoy not the endless builds, but also the fact that it seems simpler and easier to get into compared to a lot of tabletops out there. I would love to see this come out again in full swing.
I love how even your own soldiers have to give the Hellforge a wide berth. Terrifying, unhinged unit. Can't wait to play it, definitely my favorite one shown so far
It's awesome to see the enthusiasm escalate as you guys get deeper into the game. That's what heroscape is built for - a simple, intuitive game where you can relax, smash bungus boys together, and have a laugh with the crew. Great video!
I've been super stoked ever since this got announced. Love seeing the new units in action, and love the new colors and army cards they chose for the units!
Super cool, the Ironclad models look dope (imagine using them as twisted Necrons!) and the pirates seem really fun to play - will have to back a copy of this for sure!
So many good memories as a kid playing this game, as well as good memories as an adult. My wife and kids jumped in with me on this one because as long as you can read you can play this one. It is so nice and simple. I am excited for it to make a comeback. I can't wait to expand with more terrain.
So glad to see more eyes on this game, really hoping to see it get funded, as it's an amazing game that served as a gateway for me into wargaming, as I am sure it did many others!
I didnt even know this was a thing until I saw this video in my feed. Thank you for posting this and getting the word out. I just hope the campaign turns out successful.
One way to help (that I’ve been doing as a fan) is to let your friends know about it. They may have also enjoyed it back in the day, and every backer helps!
Yusss, HeroScape is basically the intro to wargaming for so many of us. It's great for Wargamer parents to buy for their kids to start them on the path. Those parents may find that they enjoy the game even more than expected!
For a lot of reasons, it wasn’t feasible for them to be prepainted, but I’m sure you can match the quality of the original, or send your set off to get painted 😁
Hey guys- I am huge into HS. I've always alternated each " turn" Thats why they are secretly #d... So 1st player reveals their #1 marker, 2nd player reveals their #1 marker then back to 1st player for marker #2 activation and so on. At the end of the Round you reset Turn Markers then roll to see who goes 1st Round 2
I still have every OG Heroscape mini I bought back in high school, along with at least some of the terrain. Prior to reading the Polygon article from August, I had no idea that miniatures games like Unmatched owe their existence to Heroscape. I wish this reboot the best of luck, and much better marketing and handling than the original got.
Just a heads-up this game will not go into production unless it is backed on haslab. At time of writing it has 12 days left and still needs 5000 backers! If anyone is interested, they should grab the deal now because if it is not backed on haslab it will not be released ever.
And it is a deal. Per the devs on discord, when it funds and goes to retail, it will be split into smaller sets that will cost more overall. If $250 is too much now, consider that waiting could make it cost $300 or even $400 later. And that’s without the exclusives!
Oh hell yes! I hope that the haslab gets funded and we all get to experience this awesome new set for ourselves, my husband has been playing Heroscape for years now and introduced me to it. We're excited! 🎲
Renegade Game Studios is bringing it back 100% official. March 1 will be a virtual con where they'll show off the first wave and pre-orders open. Pre-painted confirmed.

You get more mindgames going when there isn't such a clear, linear battleplan provided to you by faction mechanics.
It is 2022. I was not expecting Heroscape of all things in my sub feed, but I'm ALL FOR IT
When it got quietly announced in august I had to stop myself from hooting and hollering at a work event 😂
@@danielchance4157 I didn’t... and I was at work when I saw
Then back it! We need to reach8k if we want heroscape to not die!
