I came from two mk7 gtis, well a mk7, and mk7.5. The mk7 blew up at 400 miles, and the mk7.5 had a transmission issue where it would stall with the clutch pushed in. I bought my b8.5 s4 with 37k miles for 25k, the price of a new gti. Totally worth it
I did something similar in the fall. Front small Res removed, 11385 replacing center res, but kept stock mufflers. Had my first road trip and the added sound did kinda bug me after a few hrs but it wasn't too bad. So glad I kept stock mufflers. 75mph in my car is kinda annoying even with my passive setup. $400 in all, definitely like this route versus raspy $2k exhausts

Nice work! This is basically the same as what the polo performance exhaust consisted of, but they made J pipes at the end to kill the drone. Another option is to put a 2nd 11386 where you have your 2nd xpipe and that should limit the drone as well
S60RGT would having 2 11386 be more of a deep exhaust sound? I was think of doing a X pipe instead of the baby resonators and a 11386 magnaflow in replace of center resonator, and deleting the factory exhaust in the rear, I’m just afraid it’s going to sound raspy and not as deep sound

It had like a dead spot on the throttle between 500rpm and 900. Also never told me it wasn't inspected. Needed breaks and rotors just to pass.
@@eli7565 I had it for 2 years. I did consider wrapping it and thought I would have kept it longer but I just couldnt resist wanting a B7 RS4 so I sold it and bought one. Thruthfully just look at the usual(leaks, clutch or dgs service, maintenance history, etc...) My b8 was really well maintained and I didnt have any major issues with it other then a clutch slave cylinder failure. Other than that it was a great reliable car.
sounds great! any drone in the cabin? I have the 11385 with muffler deletes and the drone is just too much, wife and kids do not approve! wondering if the 2nd xpipe makes that much of a difference
Thanks! Unfortunately there is still drone in the cabin. I think mufflers would more help with the drone rather than another x-pipe. I opted for 2 x-pipe to get rid of rasp and that was more of my target to get rid of rasp. I've had worst drone in my b7 s4 so it doesnt really bother me on my b8.
@@steve-ov6wq have not seen any B8 owners do an H pipe. H pipe is more for sound. Most likely deeper and a little louder. I had an H pipe on my old B7 S4 and I liked it a lot but that was also because of the V8.
Can u make a video of how it sounds while cruising on the hwy just to get an idea what the drone is like? Too bad your not closer to me (norcal, the valley). I would like to hear it in person
I actually found the tips at a local Automotive race shop here. They are 3.5 inch. But I'm thinking about changing them sometime in the future probably.

So, actually got this done. Car sounds great but I'm getting a ton of vibration after getting this done. Im certain its because of the install but curious if you noticed any vibrations after getting this setup.
@@cjscarcollection18 The vibration can be felt slightly at idle but mainly between 1800-2300rpm where it drones. I've had the car back once, they did something that helped a bit but its back to how it was before. Definitely seems to be something they did wrong
@@cjscarcollection18 Oh you'd know for sure trust me lol, its not something you could ignore or try to see if its there or not, its that bad. I do understand that you'd get some vibration from the tone/frequency at those rpms but this is vibration from something touching the exhaust so its just amplified from the droning.
Definetly will. B8 and B8.5 S4 exhaust setup is practically the same. If you'd like my setup, you would just need to purchase the magnaflow 11386 and a non-resonated x-pipe and have them welded in.

Thanks! I had this setup for 2 years and 30k miles and it was still intact. Also, I was only stage 1, no launch control and no burble tune. Didn't abuse the car and didn't track the car. It was a daily.👍

I didn't want to reduce noise and still wanted volume. Drone is noticiable. Doesnt bother me. I had worse drone in my fully straight piped b7 s4 before.

@Jack Daddy Hey so this setup still had the stock downpipes. The baby resonators that were in the stock downpipes were replaced with the Magnaflow 11386. The setup was cut and began near the flex pipe in the stock downpipe. The 2.5 inch piping was provided by the Muffler shop I took it too 👍

Nice, you should get an S4. These platforms are so much fun! Truthfully, a tune is the best bang for the money. But I think suspension upgrades are also the next best. Exhaust and intake is more for sound but also makes driving more fun IMO.

I went with set up, absolutely love it. No rasp little drone. Compared to miltek and any other brands. It sound better in my opinion

Its definitely present. Not crazy though. No complaints from the GF or kid. Planning to do a video soon somehow of the drone haha

Yes still holding up. Havnet really noticed any changes in sound. I'll probably check/tap sometime later on the Magnaflow piece

Nice! Yea drone should definitely be less noticeable with baby resonators in. Those resonators help reduce volume and noises of sorts.
Any resonator/muffler on these cars leads to the rasp, just get rid of the resonatorsand try a j pipe set up

Don't really notice power changes with exhaust modification. The tune was for sure noticeable.

This reminds of the b5 s4 exhaust which is exactly what I want. How loud would you say it is? Awe track or touring loud?
I would say it is as loud or a tad louder than the AWE track
