P.S. Summer 1987, I was a mechanical engineering student. In my spare time I worked on a farm to earn some money. From the money I earned I bought many (vinyl) singles. 'Gino Vannelli - Wild Horses' was one of the many I bought in my teens (still have it). Timeless tune. Compared to other recordings, I always liked the clear surround sound quality of the recording. The xylophone, brush drumsticks. As a windsurfer, I remember this song as a hot summer hit over here in the Netherlands, the tune gave you instant butterflies whenever standing near a girl. Teenagers huh? lol 🎼❤😂😍😍😂❤🎼
@@daisyduke4640 Platinum Blonde, The Spoons and Honeymoon Suite are also good ones. The guitar player for Platinum Blonde was my next-door neighbour back in the 80’s. 😂😂😂😂😂❤️
@@gitana8281 Eh, so you're Canadian? I used to be your neighbor, born in Wisconsin 😭 I do love Honeymoon Suite. The other 2 I never heard of. I love Rush & April Wine, plus MANY more. Trailer Park Boys is the Best comedy EVER 🏆🌟
Despite the image Gino had with some people, i've always loved this song. For me It is literally a connection with America in the 80s. Just totally love the vibes. That extended mix is also awesome.
As the sun goes down on the Arizona plain And the wind whistles by like a runaway train Hey hey hey, it's a beautiful thing Well it's me and you and a flatbed truck My heart kicking over like a whitetail buck Hey hey hey, in the middle of spring You can cut me deep You can cut me down You can cut me loose It's okay Yeah, yeah, it's okay You can kick and scream You can slap my face You can set my wheels on a high speed chase Oh, you, no matter what you do Wild horses could not drag me away from you Wild horses could not drag me away from you Well, as the sky falls down from the midnight blue Spittin' like bullets on a hot tin roof Hey hey hey, it's a beautiful sound Oh, well it's me and you in a flatbed truck In a foot of mud just my luck Hey hey hey, a hundred miles out of town You can call me a fool You can call me blind You can call it quits I can't hear a word that you said What you said 'Cause if I had you once I'm gonna have you twice I'm gonna follow my heart instead of good advice Oh, you, no matter what you do Oh, they could not drag me away from you Wild horses could not drag me away from you Alright now Well, as the sun goes down on the Arizona plain The wind whistles by like a runaway train It's a beautiful thing Wild horses could not drag me away from you Wild horses could not drag me away from you Oh, they could not drag, they could not drag me away From you, from you Yeah, from you Yeah, from you Form you Yeah, you Ooh, you Well, as the sun goes down on the Arizona plain The wind whistles by like a runaway train Oh, a runaway train Alright! A runaway, runaway, runaway, runaway train A runaway train I wanna run away, I wanna run away Well, as the sun goes down on the Arizona plain It's a beautiful thing. Cheers.
Una de las canciones, de la BSO de mi vida. Barcelona ,verano del 87. Era un adolescente con apenas 15 años. El primer amor, las primeras amistades.... cuantos Buenos recuerdos ❤❤❤❤
Gino came to my attention almost 50 years ago. I am from a small town in Serbia - Valjevo. Now, can you imagine that on the 16th of May, Gino has a performance at a jazz festival organized by my city. Unbelievable, what I knew, what I assumed, until I saw and heard it, I did not believe. The man is absolutely fantastic. That should have been seen and heard. I knew a lot, but he surpassed everything I thought about him. How did they manage to bring him, I will ask the director of the festival, but it is a special story that Gino's hit Mama CoCo had great success in our country for 70 years and that one group took the name of that song for their group and it was well-known and active until recently, and entire generations later very, very popular in Serbia passed through it. In short, Gino is known among us elders and extremely appreciated.
Back in the day (pre-internet) you wouldn't have the song lyrics readily available. So I thought the song said "'Wild Jose' could not drag me away..." which meant that he was competing against 'Wild Jose', a hunky Latino with a lot of swagger, definitely an uphill battle. Wild horses, OTOH, are really not interested in hot women, perhaps fresh hay.
I wish I could go back to the year this was popular on the radio
Right 🌟🔥 Says 1987 in description. Seems like yesterday...

this is an awsome song its got a good beat to it 😀
What a experience… THX for this‼️
Never forgotten ‼️
It’s a beautiful thing
As the sun goes down on the Arizona plain
And the wind whistles by like a runaway train
Hey hey hey, it's a beautiful thing
Well it's me and you and a flatbed truck
My heart kicking over like a whitetail buck
Hey hey hey, in the middle of spring
You can cut me deep
You can cut me down
You can cut me loose
It's okay
Yeah, yeah, it's okay
You can kick and scream
You can slap my face
You can set my wheels on a high speed chase
Oh, you, no matter what you do
Wild horses could not drag me away from you
Wild horses could not drag me away from you
Well, as the sky falls down from the midnight blue
Spittin' like bullets on a hot tin roof
Hey hey hey, it's a beautiful sound
Oh, well it's me and you in a flatbed truck
In a foot of mud just my luck
Hey hey hey, a hundred miles out of town
You can call me a fool
You can call me blind
You can call it quits
I can't hear a word that you said
What you said
'Cause if I had you once
I'm gonna have you twice
I'm gonna follow my heart instead of good advice
Oh, you, no matter what you do
Oh, they could not drag me away from you
Wild horses could not drag me away from you
Alright now
Well, as the sun goes down on the Arizona plain
The wind whistles by like a runaway train
It's a beautiful thing
Wild horses could not drag me away from you
Wild horses could not drag me away from you
Oh, they could not drag, they could not drag me away
From you, from you
Yeah, from you
Yeah, from you
Form you
Yeah, you
Ooh, you
Well, as the sun goes down on the Arizona plain
The wind whistles by like a runaway train
Oh, a runaway train
Alright!
A runaway, runaway, runaway, runaway train
A runaway train
I wanna run away, I wanna run away
Well, as the sun goes down on the Arizona plain
It's a beautiful thing.
Cheers.

Anyone know the woman dancing & playing harmonica?
That is the lovely Tricia Vannelli, Gino’s wife. Sadly she has recently passed.

Either way you're fighting a lot of raw horsepower
Yo pensaba que la canción era de Bruce Hornsby and the range durante muchos años.
Tiene un sonido muy parecido.
Being Canadian, sorry 😂 from a Canadian no less. Vive Montreal ......
