This was a brilliant interview and what a great guy. Another band I remember well enough but was never really my thing at the time. I found it really interesting especially when he was talking about being in a band with your friends, I can totally relate. A long time ago I was in a band with my friends and when that finished everyone else did other things. I tried but it never worked out because it just never felt the same to me. I just wanted to play with those guys and my heart was never really in it again.

I think it makes a huge difference. Shared experiences & just knowing how each other ticks is a massive bonus!

I will have to turn that Chris Helme quote about busking being better than being in the Rolling Stones into a meme when I get a chance.
Side note: Ray Wilson from Stiltskin joined Genesis, not INXS!!! 🤣

As is often the case I went into this with no real knowledge or interest and got sucked in straight away. What an interesting take on the music scene of the late 90’s, good bloke.

Lovely chap right & love his insight on the highs and lows of being in a successful band!

Liam does have a co songwriting credit for love me and leave me. But it sounds like his only actual contribution is a few lyrics to the song.

Always liked Chris saw him solo a few times, shame Squire acted like such a bully to the other band members. You know squire was a bit of a bully because when he did his next band skunkworks with the two Simon's from the verve when he tried his usual rubbish with them because they were on a equal footing they just told him to get stuffed and John quit due to "musical and personality differences".

It does seem to be a similar story in the bands he’s in, see what happens with Liam I guess? Maybe he will mellow in his old age?
